Banshee in Louisiana for sale .
PlaynSand replied to PlaynSand's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Well I take it these banshees aren't worth much anymore , This is too good of a bike to part out , I would take $ 2500 cash if you pick up and throw in sand tires and all stock parts that I have . There isn't anything wrong with this bike I just don't have anywhere to ride it around here and gas is too high to go to sand dunes anymore . -

Hi just wanted to drop in and try to catch up with . Been down here in Louisiana the past two years , anlalyzing large industrial engines , Has been very interesting . Anyway I have been neglecting my poor old banshee . It has been sitting for 18 months , covered in dust , never even started it . Well the other day got it out , blew the dust off , kicked it twice and it started . Naturally I had to go bother the neighbors , was a blast . Soon to be riding again, Holler at yall later , again hi to everyone.

Hey guys I have been out for a long time , sorta a domestic issue . But I will return , when I get a computer . So just saying hi to everyone .

loco, I am running 33 PWK's with 168 mains and 48 pilots but that is with a traditional ported 350 , I think your 12 port stroker will react completly different to jetting. I look at it this way... if your engine has very rapid port velocity it is going to create a greater pressure drop in the carb venturi area than , my little ole 350. This would allow greater fuel flow through the jets and past the needle which would give you more fuel into the engine than a engine with slow port velocity and the same size jets. So you could have smaller jets in your carbs than the next guy but still be getting more fuel due to the stronger signal on the carbs. I also just jet mine for me and the way I ride ,I think where you ride and how you ride effects jetting a lot, every bike is geared different , has different tires and different weight of rider , all of which effects the load on the engine and fuel ratio, so really ,jetting that works great for one may run like crap for the other even with the same engine. I think yall will come up with a recipe that will get everyone in the ballpark but won't be perfect for everyone, heck just try small changes and see what happens .

You might try moving the clip on the needle up one notch and see if that helps, when I had mine jetted too rich it would run better when it was cold.

Goofy?? I think they are .. as my daughter would say " tight" ! Notice how they follow the lines of the bike and the graphics on the tank. And no one gets to see them much anyway ... usally at the finish of the drags I'm the only one there.

I don't have a stroker or 12 port " I wished I did" But when I was running my stock carbs I had a lot of trouble getting them tuned in , I finally did but it was a lot of trail and error. After I put the 33 pwk's on it made a world of difference , lowend is stronger and midrange is unreal and revs out forever on topend , so I do think I found the ideal size of carb for my engine. My real question is do any of you think that maybe the 35's my still be choking your 12port strokers down ? Causing all of these erratic jetting problems . Has anyone tried some 38's or larger?? Well I bet someone will find the right combo in time .

Pro , there will be lots of drag racing , sometimes they get two strips going at once. The banshee will be a must have .. check out the pics in the images forum under "back from Little Sahara"

I'll mark it down and try to be there , See if I can get the wife talked into it. Should be nice cool weather by then .
-
Are you asking how a 4mm stroker runs because you want one or do ya have one already and it doesn't run like you want??

When my brother and I were little tikes my dad built us a huge sand box in the yard ,hoping we would spread sand all over the yard to help soften the soil. So we .. played in the sand .. a lot and he kept it full of fresh sand. Now I guess I am additicted to playing in the sand forever. Built a few sandrails over the years and went through a few quads , now just ride around in the dunes with the family and harass a few at the drags.

I don't have CPI's but my brother inlaw has them and we ended up with 290's for hot weather and 300's for cooler weather like 50to 70 degrees. This is at about 2400 elev. 300's would make it fall on it's face in 100 degree weather , even with clamp-on filters. But then again all bikes are a little different , so check your plugs.

I think they charged me $3 for the mount and I had a couple of 1/4" nuts and locks already. I was looking at Grainger.com and they have the mounts for $1.98 The item # 5XK72 in their catalog.

You can read all about it here Amsoil atv oil But , please contact "HolyMan" if you want any. His email is [email protected]

If any of you are like me , it seems that at least one of the stock rubber seat cushions come up missing. I found a rubber isolation mount with some 1/4" studs on each end at an electrical supply store. The rubber is about an inch and the studs are about 1/2" long. I then cut it in half ( watch the fingers ) Then drilled 1/4" holes at approx . center . Where the stock cushions were rubbing. Put some Loctite on the studs and installed some nuts and locks and tightened . leave the stock cushions off . Sell the remaining one to your buddy. Now let's see them little boogers get away!

I have one of each and in the sand the 450 kicks a## , You have to mod the shee a lot to beat one , But I like the shee better , just for the thrill , the 450 gets boring after awhile... , to me anyway .
-
Did you do that when you were running from the cops down mainstreet??? What are you gonna do about the bullet holes??
-
Led don't wear the dunes out too much . I'll be down there the weekend after. So take it easy and no crashing ....

This is what every 'shee out there needs!

I seen a few of them at Little Sahara about 3 years ago, The were testing and tuning , one of them claimed to work for the place building the kits , It was Hiper ..... something . Can't remember . But he said the kit was like $5000 . They seemed very tempermental , but every so often they would click off a good run . He also stated you must run alcohol and override tranny . Looked like a wild and scary ride. But I have not seen any since then , maybe they went out of business. -
The heat range of a spark plug is the operating temperature of the plug. Going to a hotter plug will not increase performance and will most likely overheat and cause detonation and preignition resulting in melted pistons. I would stick with the 8ES plugs . You want to run the coldest heat range you can without fouling , if you are fouling the 8ES plugs you may be a little rich . A hotter plug does not spark more than a colder plug , the hotter plug just has more porcelian exposed to the combustion which causes it to maintain a higher temp , burning off the combustion residue . A colder plug has less porcelain exposed allowing it to disapate heat more rapidly to the cylinder head .

whos got that nice white 04 with rocket pipes
PlaynSand replied to trialsallday's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Loco, No it's not the chrome .. You see my pic that Minkia posted above ..... Now look at at your stroker banshee pic. Now who's ,.... pipes..... look better in the pic??? -
No way !! There are billions of two stroke engines , the market for two stroke oil will be around as long as they make gasoline. They have newer two stroke engines that meet EPA regulations , we just need yamaha to step up and put one in a banshee I am hoping banshee sales remain strong and they realize the demand and redesign it. Maybe a 700cc triple powervalve engine .....
