Hey guys here's an idea. David probably has a top peice to a head anodized red and he gave the bottom to Justintoxicated . What do you guys think of adding a polished bottom section under the top red anodized piece ? I think it would looked great. What do you think about it David?

I have one perfect one off a 2004 the other one has one leg bent back .010 can make a deal if interested . You probably wouldn't even notice the one hub being only .010 off , I just got new axle and hubs together.
-
The lonstar hubs I have use a bolt that is screwed through the hub, so it looks like they would be easily replaced. The instructions that came with the hubs said to locktite the bolts in place , but I didn't The bolts the hubs came with are slightly smaller than the stock studs , I do not know the auctual size but they may be SAE 5/16 but not sure. I purchased hubs and axle together to replace stockers destroyed in crash with STUPID ! IDIOT!! riding across the trails not in them. Sorry no pics , Need to take some ,just everytime I drag it out I just want to go ride and forget about pics.

Here's a popular place Spearman, Texas . About 90 miles north of Amarillo and about 3 hrs. to the dunes.

I have seen this warrior run at the Beaver sand dunes. Is it fast ? Yes it is faster than my warrior, Is it as fast as a banshee ? No way!! This guy spent a ton of cash on this warrior but I think he would have been money ahead to buy a 400EX . Would be a good buy if you want a souped up warrior , but don't expect to scare them off the drag strip.

A lot depends on the type of riding you will be doing and what are your long term goals . Do you want to get it ported in the future? I would get rid of the stock air filter right away . For the chain I would use the one it came with and the stock gearing is good for most . Give us more info , and everyone would be glad to help out.

Modifying Head Light Bezzles
PlaynSand replied to Cotton eyed Joe's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I did mine with a cut off wheel and dremel tool. Then sanded them down with some 400 and sprayed them with some black satin krylon. They look like they came that way . -
The weather was fair , temp was about 45 to 50 and no wind , but no sun so it felt a little cool. Sand was real smooth and damp. I would say there was a couple of hundred riders.

We went yesterday the 24th to ride around a little and BS a lot. Saw a few awesome bikes , a couple of banshee's that were dam quick in the drags. There was a red&white 450 and a purple framed raptor drag racing together and these machines were really quick , I was wondering if they were some alky burning modded to hilt machines or if it was just me. A fair warning these guy's will hand you your ass , unless your loaded for bear. They gave me mine in a two for one special.

A friend gave me a couple of plugs to try out in the banshee, I am a little afraid to try them . Does any one know any thing about these ? Champion RL85G I went to the parts store and was told they are an industrial plug and they wanted $25 a piece for them!! My BR8ES plugs are working fine , just wondering about these.

I do not personally know David Noss but I wished I did. He is truly an awesome individual . He spends countless hours on forums helping out answering questions even when they didn't buy the product from him.And he also spends a lot supporting this forum and many others. This guy really stands behind his stuff. My hat is off to you David . I will be purchasing a Noss head very soon.

Any Amsoil 2 Stroke Oil Users Up In Herre?
PlaynSand replied to erbilabuc's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I have to agree with Holyman on the ease of use . The 100to 1 can be purchased in 8oz. bottles , when poured in 5 gal. of gas comes out to 80:1 ratio. Amsoil 100to1 used at 80:1 ratio cost about 60 cents (per gal. of gas)to mix. Amsoil 2000 used at 50:1 ratio cost about 75 cents (per gal. of gas) to mix. Anyone interested in trying it should get a hold of "Holyman " he will get you fixed up. -
Any Amsoil 2 Stroke Oil Users Up In Herre?
PlaynSand replied to erbilabuc's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
For a 100:1 ratio you can figure it and just use the oz. measure on your ratio cup. to figure ratio : 1 gallon of gas (128ozs.) divide by 100 (ratio) = 1.28 ozs. of oil to 1 gal of fuel Then take 1.28 ozs. x number of gal of fuel to mix .= total oil needed. ex: 1.28ozs. x4 = 5.12 ozs. to 4 gallons of gas. -
Any Amsoil 2 Stroke Oil Users Up In Herre?
PlaynSand replied to erbilabuc's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I run Series 2000 at a 50:1 ratio. If you are using Amsoil 100to 1 ,I always run this at 80:1 ratio in a banshee. As far as performance , I have no complaints , doesn't load up , never fouled a plug and engines have been carbon free. -
Hey Guys , Congrats on your little ones . I can already picture in my head, Banchetta with a big pile of jets teaching him to count 280, 290 , 300. Enjoy their childhood as much as possible bcause they grow up faster than a drag ported banshee.

What Viscosity Oil Is Used In The Crank Case?
PlaynSand replied to bansheeee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
No worries I think some really use tractor oil. If you have it sitting around the place why not , a lot of that stuff is good chit. It would be interesting to see what everyone uses. -
I am running 50:1 Amsoil 2000 and my plugs are dark brwn./tan color. I have also ran some yamalube at 24:1 and Amsoil 100to1 at a 80:1 ratio ,and with proper jetting have always had dark brwn/tan color. I would say run the ratio that is recommended by the oil your are using ,and adjust jetting to get the plug color .

What Viscosity Oil Is Used In The Crank Case?
PlaynSand replied to bansheeee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Tractor oil ?? I am not aware of any tractors around here that use 10W-30 . I didn't mean you have to use 10W-30 , I simply stated what the owners manual states. Yes synthetic is great for those that want to spend the extra money. Dexron atf 75W90 gear oil 70W80 gear oil 0W-40 oil 5W-20 oil 10W-40 oil 15W-40 oil These are some examples of oils that are close to are within the same viscosity index as 10W-30. Just use what you like and what works good for you and don't forget about your wet clutch . -
I got new Lonestar axle on E-Bay . There is a Lonestar distributor that has auctions up all the time. I would think somebody in here sells them , you might holler at Cotton eyed Joe , He sells some stuff ,but I do not know about axles.

What Viscosity Oil Is Used In The Crank Case?
PlaynSand replied to bansheeee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yamaha recommends 10w-30 yamalube. There are a lot of different oils that are suitable for use in transmission, and fall into the same viscosity index. Avoid oils rated "Energy Conserving" If using a motor oil look for MA rating or "wet clutch compatible" , or " non friction modified" . -
Holyman , First off thanks for your reply . As far as the 100to1 oil , this is a very good oil and We to found that mixed at 80:1 seemed to produce the best results. We have poured this stuff in stock, and drag ported banshees and it always performed great. The Series 2000 oil qoute from Amsoil" for use in modified 2-cycle motors where RPM,compression ratios, heat, and horsepower have been increased from stock" I cannot say for sure if it is better than the 100to1 , I do not have access to a dyno to verify any horsepower gains. It does smoke a little more than the 100to1 and "seems" to add some rpm. Still testing ratios Our banshee's did'nt like any thing richer than 50:1 with this oil but jetting could be the root problem. Sorry for the Off Topic Post. I am curious to try Amsoil Super Shift racing trans fluid in the banshee trans. May try it in my Brother -Inlaw's banshee , He will try anything.
-
There are probably 101 choices of oil you can use in the trans, Just make sure the oil you use is wet clutch combatible or non-friction modified , usually all the four- stroke oils for atv or motorcycle are a safe bet. I use Amsoil 10W-40 Motorcycle oil in my trans and best of all I also run this oil in my Warrior and I havn't had any clutch problems. Holyman , I am also a fellow Amsoil dealer, just curios what pre-mix you like the best? We have been testing all of the Amsoil variety in 4 different Banshees over the past three years . Just wondering if anyone has any findings they might want to share.
