i just make a small mount between the pipes and the peg? never thought about having to send pipes in to have the complete mount moved around.. that way if you move pipes around on differnt frames you just have the adapter to fit them on the chassis. then just hope that each set of pipes mount on the pipe is actually in the same spot most times they are not. hell sometimes i have no idear where they are mounting these things too on a so called jig when they are built.

2014 Windy City Dune Assault Squad DUNE/DIRT ride dates
camatv replied to WINDYCITYJOHN400's topic in Riding and Events Forum
sand setup = paddles installed. pretty much all you really need.. if the bike makes as much power as stock your going to be fine. ready to see everyone at the HQ ride. -
why dont you guys launch in the dry and slow down in the wet? just curious.. there are enough trucks out there i am surprised noone drags it smooth..

Which is better 40:1 or 32:1 and why
camatv replied to yamaha_4_life's topic in General Banshee Discussion
yamapube i dont like. tear into enough yamlubricated motros and you see why.. 32-1 for me get a ratio cup. and ever heard of the internet?? they have these neato places you can ORDER anything you want even GALLONS of oil.. on a gas bike i dont know why you would need to order a gallon anyway? if you have a walmart close or really any parts store you can get wally world brand tcw3 and/or penzoil in a gallon for 13-19 bucks.. its great oil ( yes its what i have ran for many years now) change your ratio and it will change your jetting.. maybe not much but it can. also i have also seen changing oil brands affect jetting a lot also. so does leaving your gas cans out and open ( yes seen it a lot round har) you can go down to 5-1 it will smoke like a bitch but if you run 10-1 you can make more hp. yes dyno proven many times.. i personally run 32-1. gas alky either fuel dosent matter. 4 oz to a gallon.. 5 x 4 = 20 so 20 oz to a gallon. or ratio rite cup super easy. just dont leave it in the back of the truck they dont like getting ran over.... ( OOPS) -

i just put slp's on a 400 trex. motor setup was no where nearly ideal BUT it had great rideable power. the pipes fit nice sounded bad ass ( very quiet at idle but barked when reved) i really really liked them.. they fit nice but are not chrome i think just nickel plated. silencers are a mile long.. and if i rember right back when they were released a few posts were made about the companies claims to get 80 hp out of a motor with those pipes and theier motor internals.... they are pretty low rpm pipe ( as you can see on that dyno graph) but if your building a servable then your not looking for 10500 rpm

Best of craigslist..................

yes on the high port timing. maybe not on the loose squish.. much over 200* on the exhaust on a full weight bike and your asking for some bogg issues with "heavyweight jockey's get in that range on a stock cyl small cc motor and your going to need alky for sure and a dead on setup. on my welded sc 350cc, +6 swinger and steel axle with 12 haulers it only likes to take off in 1st with me on it loose some weight on the jockey and it flys off in 2nd thats 14/41 gearing full steel chassis with real shocks. i left a lot of timing out of it because it also like to kinda stand up a tad on the launch.... but its a quick shift to 2nd and its gone... the 421 cub on 110 with stock carbs was a blast to ride... it didnt bog as bad as some other gas ones i have done with larger carbs.. pump gas carb cubs are kinda picky on setup.. i personally just slap in a set of power valves and cure that whole problem...... he hee

great track to go to. if your close make it out .. as soon as i have a bike back together i will be going more!

Turbocharged and fuel injected banshee........
camatv replied to tyrel's topic in General Banshee Discussion
head recutting then still using the puny grade OEM studs?? was the head lifting causing failure? or noone ever really think about that? nice progress. its great you talked about 2 stroke pipe design then just made a cr250 pipe fit. awesome! -
few more "action pics.. i will get a bunch more tomorrow after we wash all the sand off of it.

motor specs, 400 pv trex, flat top, dish/ dome profile i cut into the existing domes, SLP pipes, had to make my own intakes, 41.3/44 alky lectrons, ( The 36/38's we put on first had some issues with sealing on the sections. we had no time to fix so on the biggun's went) +11 timing, stock stroke hot rods crank with tz drive and 10 ball stator side, factory concepts basket with mattoon big bolt, HD busing/ moly backing plate upgrade, vforce 2 reeds.. stock mod trans oem electrical. cdi mounted behind gas tank custom harness. stock coil. bike rolls on 4th gear wheeiles up dunes... it was an absolute blast to ride. you could cruise it in such a low rpm and then it had no real pipe "hit" at all just super linear power that was super easy to control. for a rush build its one of my fav bikes so far. we took the wife's bike and it would pass and pull it on runs. these pipes are no joke. whats even better is the bike rode like a gas bike plenty of throttle response and actually got better gas mileage than the pump gas polaris i was running this weekend...

last pic for now, the +4 chrome stellar on the bike with the rear end done and new brakes all worn out bolts replaced and swingarm sleeve replaced with one that didnt look like rail road tracks.

after the next night of trying to get a cheeta 400 to work i had here then realizing the pistons are for a 4 mill ( oh wonderfull) then spending the next 5 hours working on getting the trex domes cut to something i thought would run on pump gas. then redoing the pv's so they actually worked,.. hell one of them had the supply hole SILICONED UP!!! what the fuck. only one valve even worked?? no wonder these damn motors have such a bad rep.. who the hell assembles some shit like that.. the porting and transfers work was not what i really wanted but i had literally 3 days to complete the entier bike and work and had to cut the trans, redo the cranks, etc etc..

ok i'm just going to try photobucket again.. the tapacrap i have dosent look like that hell i cannot even reply FFS! SOOOOOOOOOOOOO here is the POS after i washed about 6 years of crud off it the first time and stripped the plastics off of it. and yes those are the bad ass paddles i got with it.. after a few hours of dissasembly just needs a simple tune up right oh yea thats all...

soo. one of my really good friends wanted to hit the dunes for his bachelor party. he has a banshee that is in a million pieces and needed a lot of work. we have been trying to get it done for a long time now. just not happening so far. he has a 200x 3 wheeler that we go ride with, but wanted something with more powa for this dune ride. we went through all the project bikes i have, and looked at a lot of the parts i have lying around and settled on an old 87 j-frame roller i have had stuffed in the corner for a few years. so i pulled it out on a monday, the week of the dune trip ( we were planning on leaving at 7am on friday mornin). started ripping it apart and replacieng a bucnh of stuff built a complete motor from scratch, and got it all together after a bunch of set back's basically started the bike. ride it down the street and made sure it shifted and loaded it up, hit the dunes and ripped it up all weekend. thought id just throw up the pics from the build and some action pics.

if its same % as stock, and looks like it, plus generous chamfer. the rings probably lasted just fine. still a really shit port shape. more than enough there to fix it

ok in the vid iit looks like the idle is ok. sounds really close on the throttle pick up. after you set the throttle do the cable pull. if you like make a vid of doing that. if i was better at making vids and could figure out how to post them i would make a nice synch instructional. hell i could do a whole " tune yo shit up " series HA

370 PASSION 12 PORT NEEDLE 5TH POSITION?
camatv replied to 4mil89's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
sounds like a funky combo.. hence the funky results maybe the transfers are way to low.. and the " 12th" port is reverberating internally if the needle has to be full rich for it to run maybe you need a leak test. poor mans build = better have the whole setup spot on. better check and i mean actually check the entire electrical, do a leak test, not sure why you have v-force intakes with stock cages?? you might be getting a lot of turbulence in the cage from cutting out the stuffer, that is causing a problem. the needle and or other jetting ( maybe slide cutaway ) is causing issues. the dyno port pipes are probably not the best either.. you need to figure out what rpm they actually like and ride/ gear the bike to run in that rpm range.. i dont knock funky setups or so called budget builds hell i'm doing one right now. just its been about a week now just getting the motor to a point that i think it will run ok. -
need to have the trans inspected by someone that knows what to look for. i think a gear maybe dragging really bad or is stuck on the shaft. also could have some other issues. if its apart just do a real modded trans. can also be that the drum has some bad spots in it from all the dead neutrals. the trans when on the bench with just turning the input shaft should shift through all the gears with somewhat ease. and never get hung up on the tip of the star.
