you didnt have a vote to just build an entire chassis. i vote for that. use 2009 up yfz geo front end OR kfx 450 style front end and componets. ditch the linkage completely and use a custom NO link rear setup like the KTM's are OR also you should consider the way a sand car or RC cars suspension is set up and maybe even go nuts and do independent rear with sway bar... 250r style with cr500 rear is so 1990's..

whatever the main jet is thats in it bump it up 20 that is if its a 290 go to a 310 try 310-340 on your mains also might try and gear up a tad the shears may like a lil more load on the motor. give them an honest day of riding and JET the carbs in right before you say you dont like them. its always nice to have the pipes just there to play with.

the imported ones are around 60 bucks. shipped. there are a few US sellers on sleezebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-radiator-honda-CR85-CR85R-97-09-CR80-/290623756508?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item43aa8698dc

this is the installer i use. dosent grip the threads and wont damage them at all. only one to use in my mind.. http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/08-0150 anyplace that can get you the studs should be able to order you that as well. the remover/installer works fine to take them out. it will grip the threads adn will jack them up you can use a thread file OR use a thread die to clean them up a tad. usually i just use NEW studs whenever i can. if your having problems figuring this all out got outside and look for an old guy or ask someone who works on automotive stuff they should be able to help you out if you heat the cyl up over 300D the alluminum can and will loose its temper adn you will have problems..

i have seen the aftermarket cr85 being used more and more.. the torchworks one is very nice too.

dont worry about asking stupid questions BUT try and be through in your description of your problem for gods sake buy a manual for the bike almost all your issues with the oem stuff can be figured out right in there.. aftermarket can make you pull your hair out if your not careful if you have a GOOD local place that can help with other problems that can make things go much easier.. look it over for loose bearings and check the brakes out then go ride the heck out of it!

wow wee.. for some reason when i go to the bathroom i pee in my pants unless i take my weenie out then it all goes fine.. whats wrong? the local shop said they could install pants with a zipper for like 10 bucks -
oh man you could try YAMAHA! if its stock cylinders and your using a stock style head.. the 2 in the front will be longer and will be a differnt part number. the other ones will be the same part number i use a stud installer to put them in and a dab of blue locktight on the stock cyls they will bottom out you dont have to do any rigging of them or putting them in a certain length and bla bla bla rigg stuff up.. i also use a stud remover but they will also gouge the threads a tad when you take them out..

why ride a 1980's pile of shit hard to get parts dirt bike when you can buy an ultra modern couple years old mucho better DB for about 2500 bucks or less?? thats my point.. that old DB junk is just that JUNK> the banshee IS outdated BUT has such a HUGE aftermarket following at this time i could build a COMPLETE aftermarket bike and do nearly anythign with it i wanted and NEVER touch a yamah parts store.. that support..

what did ya break this time?

well i was wondering why kearns was bringin koolaides bike but hmm?

i agree it hink its posibly a crappy install and bad chinese shit bearing.. i have ran and still to this day have all TZ style roller drum bearings on all my cranks. only one motor i have is running a set of straight cut gears no problems i like that idear of clipping the other bearings in the cases lately i have been wondering about that very thing... i was thinkign the other day hmm what keeps the crank in side to side movement if i run this tz on this side. i have also in the past used clips on the races to keep them centerd in the cases.

i never need to swing from anyones nuts.. i dont need help or favors from anyone never asked never needed it.. i have built, tested, tuned and figured mostly all this crap out on my own. never knew you could call other builders and get all their tips and set up tricks over the phone. i have had a few mentors over the years ton of reading, and a lot of trial and error. mostly due to not believing most of the bullshit and not listening to all the haters. yea im a big dude. and yea you may run past me on the big end with a 200cc + larger motor. but just rember whos ass your lookin at when you chase me down .. i ride, race, and build my own stuff and am proud of it. for smaller cc motors i think they are very respectable. i'm not mad at anyone. and i'll say it again chris is one hell of a rider he can wheelie those big monsters all the way down the strip shooing a ton of NOS through them that takes skill and balls!.. ive been right next to him when he does it and its quite the feat to watch for sure. if i was really serious about this i'd be planing some major changes and maybe find me a jocky to train.. or maybe i am.. your right halloween is next weekend hope the weather holds out. -
i really dig this!! screw putting it in a stupid blaster this is 100 times a better idear.. better suspension better ergos it stops it wont be stupid to see a 6ft dude ride it around. etc.. also screw restoring an old ass clunker of a MX bike yea they are cool maybe the really cool ones that actually did something important but naw some old ass retarded trails it hell naw this was a great thing to revitalize it! i dug this build untill i saw the rear resivour.. now come on redo that bs man!! just above the ressy mount it there and make a small braket for it or wait till after the pipe is done and put it there above the ressy. the best thing to happen to a yfz is a blown motor and the owner selling the roller for cheap. these will accept all kinds of motors. yz250's, these air cooled banshee's etc.

havent used this in a few years last time i check it power'd up fine and i was able to download off of it no problem. its a 2 screen digitron has 4 inputs water temp, rpm, and 2 exhaust gas temperatures. (egt) i have 2 water connecters for it but i dont have the part the sensor screws into local hardware store should have it in brass no problem. also dont have the egt bungs you can get them from digitron they are cheap. all instructions and info on it is on their webbsite. has highest temp recal and over temp warning lights has downloadable recal where you can watch everything from a graph on a run . was cool when i was using it a lot but now it just sits. all programs are available from digitron for free as downloads through the site. www.digitron.com i think its a dt-51 if i rember? 250.00 shipped. no less sorry
