  1. Well your opinion sucks..... You built your shee for the sand....so of course its not gonna be as good in the trails and on several types of hillclimbs....and it'll probably do better in the sand than mine....not to mention your riding skill in the trails isnt up to par since all you do is ride sand. Banshee's are a good overall platform and can be built to perform rather well in all conditions. Get a shee that is built for the woods and you have a completely different monster On a side note, if you're gonna be doing a lot of MX, a banshee is gonna limit you in what classes you'll be able to run and a lot of work is needed to give them good potential on a mx track. You might want to look into a new 4stroke or a 250R if your gonna stick to the track a lot.
  2. Whatever man, The T5's will do alright in the trails, but look into getting a set of LRD's or a different kind of pipe that would suit your riding style better. LRD's are an amazing wood pipe though. I'd jump on that for 4 grand. Might want to look into front fenders to keep the mud away from you as well.
  3. is your parking brake still installed? Tors disconnected?

    450?
  5. I'm in the east and I paid 5200 out the door as well...should be worth a little more out west....but it is used
  6. I know in PA here it is class A you can drive a vehicle weighing over 26,000 lbs and haul a trailer that weighs 10,001 lbs and over Class B is 26,000 lbs with a trailer weighing up to 10,000 lbs No restriction on tranny's though. Something I've never heard before. I tested on a manual and drive an automatic. I just went for my class B. Went to a school for it. Class A was 6 weeks and class B was 5 days and I'd make the same money and not be worked into going over the road (which I know I'd end up going where the money flows) I can go in at any time and get any endorsements I want and it'll cost 9 bucks to reprint my license. I currently have my hazmat and tanker endorsement, should of went for all of them while it was all fresh in my head, only one you gotta retake is the hazmat every 4 years. On a side note, I work for a trash company and we get class A drivers in all the time thinking they are the shit because they can drive a big truck, why not a littler one. Only problem is, Trailers are usually just going on main roads and only problems they have to worry about is where they are picking up and unloading. Us little trucks are backing up all over the place, have kids running around (they just love trash and recycling trucks), assholes that just want to pass you and dont know how to drive or respect your work area, and the scenarios go on and on and on.
  7. plain and simple, keep the banshee. You built it the way you want it and you're partial to it. To build another one like it will cost you quite a bit in the long run. Save your loot and a year or two down the line look for a used xr400. It's a 4stroke.....you can beat on them forever. You dont want to buy new anyway
  8. little pricey for my taste. It's about fair and if I had it what I would sell it for unless I NEEDED to sell it My buddy picked up a 330R with works all around etc that was pretty hopped up for 3500 Basically as it sits but with different tires, it cleans up real nice too:
  9. I'll check at my dealer tomorrow. At most it was 45. I know the tank plastic is 10 a side and then 5 dollars in foam and rubber pieces to complete it.

I have a complete bottom end that is plug and go, just pulled the top end off it for the jugs. The bottom case and clutch cover have a hole in them, I have a set of cases and a clutch cover that I could sell along with it.
  11. you just need more power to turn them. Try going to a 13 tooth front sprocket. I personally dont like 22"s because of how they make you sit up on the tank, and I even have big front tires to compensate for it. I have the mudsharks and they are a decent tire, they are very soft and wear fast though. If you're looking for hook, as soon as the edges wear off the razr's and holeshots, all they want to do is spin (unless you shorten your swingarm), if you want a 20" tire that is gonna give you some good hook for a decent amount of wear, look for some 20" blackwaters.
  12. gonna be putting out around 65-70 hp and I'm looking into a new clutch. I want something thats gonna last me a good long while and hold up to the power. What are you guys using and those of you that have gone through quite a few different kinds of clutches let me know what you think. I just dont want this thing to slip on me. thanks
  13. put a line on the rim and the tire and see if its spinning. If its not it might be your clutch
  14. someone told me to take some baby powder and squirt it on the outside of my k&n and see if any came through....and of course....it did K&N's are for the street, and do a good job in the sand where the particles are big enough to be blocked. Dust particles are a lot smaller. Unless you've done everything else to your shee power wise and are looking for that extra half horsepower, I'd run a pro flo/uni foam setup. I also run in the coal sometimes and wouldnt trust anything else. They repel water rather well as well.
  15. it gets rid of all that junk gives you a new throttle cable and new carb caps, and an idle adjustment screw and a drill and tap to drill the carb for the idle screw
  16. that be what I'm saying
  17. at least get you some boyeson dual stage epoxy reeds (carbon fiber sucks in my opinion) and sometimes a reed will stick off fully closed a tiny little bit, as soon as the bike starts up it'll suck closed though
  18. it all comes down to what kind of reeds you have now? If stock I'd ditch them and get some reeds and a timing plate. If they are some dual stage reeds, go with the head
  19. toomey filter you'll lose the airbox, K&N unless your riding pavement or sand I'd keep away......go with a foam.....it flows almost exactly the same and much better protection
  20. is the ebrake and tors still on the bike? get a compression tester.....you should have one anyway you might be having an electrical problem
  21. dealer,.....30-35 bucks
  22. yeah, they usually stay with the cases, your best bet for a quick fix is the dealer, they cant be that expensive
  23. how's the progress on the monster? holeshot fronts new? on rims? got pics? wanna sell separate?
