  2. anybody before they go to the ebay chopping block?
  3. someone on here does a lot of titanium welding. I'd like to see closeups of all the welds. dont know if it was the rax units or not but they were having problems with the welds having blueing I believe which meant that their was contamination to the titanium weld, and that was what was failing on those units that people got hurt. Also I was hearing is that the units were flexing but with titanium it makes it stronger. But much like heat treating glass....the more you heat it, the stronger it gets, until you heat it to much, and it will break.
  4. sold pending payment
  5. I do have to agree with them about the tires as well, I've run holeshots, and as soon as the square edge wears off of them, they are worthless on a shee. I run a Mudshark tire, cheng shin now makes them, I run a 21 inch tire (would run a 20, but they only make 21 and I like the extra clearance). They are soft and wear down quicker than other tires, but its one of the few tires I've found that can hook good enough, and I like how they slide around corners. If you look at the pattern of them, even when your sliding sideways, you have lugs that are propelling you forweard. If you are gonna run a 22 inch tire, You need to run a 23 inch front or you are going to find yourself sitting up on the tank every time you hit your brakes, it puts a good rake on the shee. They now only make a non adjustable pipe for the shee. I dont know if they took the adjustable one and found a happy medium with it, and then welded it shut and went with that?, or if its a completely different pipe. I like the adjustable ones (you'd have to find used), because you can adjust when the powerband starts to come on. Depending on the trails you mainly run, you can adjust the pipe so that when your not really on the throttle you can be in that spot in the rpm where it starts to kick into the powerband. Basically you can adjust them so that your riding in the "sweet spot" at all times. good luck, and if you need any help turning one of these beasts into a trail quad, shoot me a line. It can be done, it just costs a little bit of money. A little more food for thought, for the price that I've put into this chassis, I could've probably went out and bought a 250R style chassis and put my engine and plastics on it.
  6. said like a true drag racer!!!!......you would go and buy a 500hp engine to put into a trail jeep though. The only thing I dont like about the banshee in the woods is the frame geometry. It'll wear you out in the woods if you arent at the top of your game. As far as the engine goes, I can lug my banshee around in first gear all day if I want, and sometimes go out and thats what I do, barely lay on the throttle and just put around and go over rock mounds and enjoy the scenery with it....and I love the slow methodical tat tat tat noise it makes. Or I can beat the living shit out of it, and its screaming in 3rd sideways through bends and more of a thrill than you'll get with any other quad out there except maybe a 250R. It's got all the power I want (and NEED), and I've built it to provide with the low end torque that a 2 stroke CAN produce, the smooth powerband hit that wont throw me off a cliff, and the screaming top end that will pull longer than T5's. Only thing I miss a little bit with my LRD's is that lightswitch powerband hit. Only time I miss it though is when I get on my buddies shee with the t5's. I get a craving once in a while for it, ride his, miss it for a while, then go back to what makes sense for my type of riding.
  7. you want low end and a smooth powerband hit listen carefully. All I ride is woods and If I had a strong powerband hit, I'd probably be off a cliff by now and dead. I run adjustable LRD's and swear by them, best trail pipe out there in my opinion. Do a search, I've got on a soap box a million times about them. What kind of pipe is on there? Figure you could start with the pipe and see if that corrects it, and if not, then go into the engine
  8. Something dumb to check, but didnt see it mentioned. Is the choke tube between the 2 carbs not connected? or cracked maybe?
  9. gonna be going with a new setup so I'm gonna put these up for sale, dont have any good pics at the moment, but wanted to get this out there Burgard arms will come with the reamed spindles and tie rods. They use an old superbeetle balljoint that you can get at almost any parts store. Works triple rate with rezzy fronts set up for 175-200lb rider, and a works ultracross I believe rear (forget the name of it) Will sell whole setup for 1,000 + shipping or willing to split up for a good offer.
  10. I'm gonna guess piston skirt piece holding the crank from moving. Pull your spark plugs and look for metal on them If its a stock head, loosen the bolts in reverse order from 10 to 1 or you'll chance warping the head. I never thought it could happen until I took mine to a machine shop and it wasnt flat anymore.
  11. its for stock length and the splines are perfect on it. dont have a paypal account anymore, but money orders always work. shoot me a message if you're interested
  12. Gnarly pipes in good shape, chrome has a little rust in a few spots, and some blueing 200 + shipping as they are or I'll buff them on my wheel as best as possible for an extra 30. The extra 30 will get them looking almost brand new except for the blueing
  13. power shifter for sale 35 dollars shipped to your door Just noticed in the picture it looks like it has heat marks on it, it doesnt, it was just the reflection from the flash. Can take another pic if you guys would like.
  14. brand new gripper seat cover. Blue and white. Very good rubber type texture to it 60 + shipping
  15. -1 swingarm, forget who makes these but they are quality pieces. It's got a new powdercoat on it, but its not perfect. Everything is coated, just some spots a little thicker than others. Maybe someone on here knows a little more about these swingarms, I've seen them on a couple bikes. Comes with carrier with grease zerk. Only reason I'm not installing is because I had plans to go with this but have decided to stay stock length. What you see is what you get. 350 + shipping
  16. pull the carbs, undo the tops and lay them to each side of the banshee they are on so you dont switch them. Pull the bowl and remove the main jet and their is a pilot jet in there that you unscrew with a flat screwdriver. Clean them both very well and I bet you might be back in business. You gotta pull the carbs off the banshee and clean them very well though. Make sure you connect the choke tube between the two carbs when you are done
  17. what year is your bike? Are your tors still connected? Is your parking brake still hooked up? Does it bog as soon as you give it throttle? If your parking brake is still connected, play around with the locking lever (there is a little switch there) and see if it corrects itself. I forget where you unplug it or if you have to connect the wires together (I believe you just disconnect the wire coming out of the parking brake, follow it to a connector) When you apply the parking brake I believe it makes a connection keeping it from revving?
  18. what weight are the shocks set up for? and what dont you like about the a-arms?
  19. awesome deal man. One of the best trail pipes ever made. I paid over 600 for mine new. Lol...buy a big tube of high temp silicone because it'll take a little while to figure out where you want your powerband to come on. I have my screws turned 2 full turns out from all the way in (high end) but I'm gonna go with 2 1/2 turns to let the powerband start to come on a little earlier. Adjusting the pipe changes when the powerband starts to come on in the rpm band. Silicone the shit out of them when you get it where you want it and let them sit like that for 48 hours or you are gonna get leaks. I'm actually contemplating welding mine shut when I get it where I want it. Awesome pipe though, you can adjust the pipe to your riding style instead of having to adjust to your pipe. Really nice in tight trails too. Has a nice wide powerband hit that comes on slow and very controllable.
  20. I have that same set right there....it works wonders....especially with this shitty ass yamaha metal. you could always just replace your hub and call it a day.
  21. krylon fusion, scuff it up with some 800 grit, try to make it look nice (work scratches out etc) Go to a craft store, they usually have a lot more colors to choose from. Why are your plastics to the point you want to paint them? Just leave it the color it is unless the plastics are god ugly and all different non matching colors that dont work. Theres bigger issues with a banshee then what color the plastic is.
  22. call the court that you have to pay the fine at and see if you'll get points. I dont think you will in this situation, but its definitely good to ask no matter what. If you are going to get points, plead not guilty and get the points removed and pay the fine. If its just a fine, pay it and move on.
  23. depends on a lot of things. Were you on public property or private property? State park? Gotta look into your local laws. Some places the vehicle needs to be registered even on private property. The main reason for this is so people dont end up having 10 junker vehicles on blocks in their driveway in a nice neighborhood. How much was the ticket? If you are going to fight it, you need to bring substantial evidence. Have the law in writing that doesnt say that you cant ride your 4wheeler where you were riding it with no insurance or registration. Anything else and its your word against his....and guaranteed he's more friends with the judge than you are.
  24. bumper looks good...considering you made it out of scrap metal you have laying around. I like the look of it but I think you should go out and get 10-15 bucks of bigger tubing and make the same thing, but maybe make the ends stick out toward your wheels a little bit more so if you need to use it to move your front end you have a little more there to grab on to. Definitely looks good man, its good to see people be creative and it completely not look like ass
