I wouldnt recommend getting it pop started like that all the time. I had a 200x for the life of me we couldnt get this thing to run, and when we pull started it, it would run and I'd have to keep the rev's up a little to keep it running. Ended up destroying the engine because of an air leak underneath the P.O.S. one piece rubber intake (about a 3 inch crack) Ah....to be young and dumb

Brand new '06 running on one cylinder only

chances are that is sealant of some sort from somewhere. Do you see any sealant around your intake at all? Maybe your pipe is clogged? I'd take it back to the dealer and be like wtf did you do to my bike? If you havent touched anything on it....DONT....its all on them so far They should make it right. Make sure you show them the rubber pieces. Be cool with them and they'll probably be cool with you. There isnt really to much they can fuck up without digging into the engine. See if they can make it right, and then come here to make it actually run right. If the dealer doesnt have a mechanic with a banshee or at least a 2 stroke....they are gonna be fishing almost as much as you right now....but at least they know what they did when they put the equipment on. -
look under tire size : http://www.motorcycledreamshop.com/shop/agora.cgi?p_id=0164

2 ply kenda front max's are a pretty light tire
-
they sell a pretty good stripper at wal-mart in a can too. A toothbrush and my fingers under running water is all I needed to get all the paint off everything I've put it on. The water coming out of the faucet took most of it off itself.
-
I would think some 2 ply turf tamers with a pattern cut to them would be about as light as you're gonna get.
-
if it continues to run poorly, especially after you put the new plugs in, might want to beware of an air leak. As long as its idling and stuff like it usually does you should be fine, but might want to take some carb cleaner and spray around the intake to see if the engine rev's

what is the difference between 2 into 1 carb and twin carbs
. replied to fryball2001's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The article was on mx and gncc engines.....they have a whole different category for their drag quads (LRD is mainly an mx/gncc corporation) It went into how the taperbored 28's were better than 30's because of the velocity that the taperbore created, they've completely gotten away from banshee's for the most part and the article isnt up anymore on the site....wish it was, it was very extensive and covered every aspect -
this is what I run and they grab on everything. They arent extremely heavy (like my realtors or sur trak's) and you can get them in a 21 instead of 22. They are a mud tire so they are a little softer of a compound, but they lasted me 2 hard seasons of riding and I could get away with a third if I wanted to. (the bars are just becoming one piece instead of the 2 lines) http://www.motorcycletireoutlet.com/165813.htm

LRD did extensive dyno'ing between 1 carb and 2 carbs (used to have a whole big article on it, on their site) and I know at least with their pipes that 28's taperbored out to 30mm produced the best flow in every aspect over a 1 carb setup. Only thing I can see better about a 1 carb setup is ease of tuning and less clutter. It will however give you better bottom end over stock carbs. -
hell man, that dont look so bad, a little sanding, some jb weld and some wd-40 and you should be good to go :ermm: It all depends, you are getting the portwork done so nows the time to decide if you want the stroker or not. What kind of area do you ride? I've talked to a few people and they just say that the stroker is just to much in the woods. I ride a lot of pretty open trails, but also a lot of technical stuff that I think that extra power is just gonna hurt me. If you are going to be riding mostly all open areas and some tight stuff thats not gonna put your life on the line or your banshee falling into a ravine never to be seen again, then I'd say go for the stroker. I've had to decide to stay with a stock crank over a stroker. It was a hard decision, but I think its the right thing for the areas I ride.

for god sakes man get rid of that air box lid....its killing you. Basically all the mods you did dont mean anything for the most part because your engine cant pull enough air. If you ride sand, get a pro flow setup with a K&N if you run sand and a foam filter setup if you run in anything else (unless you never ride in any muddy or wet situations at all) Make sure you jet up around 3 jet sizes when you pull that lid Put it this way. I was one jet lean in the mountains so I tried putting my airbox lid on and I could barely get it to rev and it was breaking up and just didnt like it whatsoever. Theres a lot of power there waiting for you....its all just stuffed up and you need to let it breathe. p.s. buy a compression tester and check your compression too.....every 2 stroke owner should have one.
-
I'd buy it off you but I cant get down there until the end of july. I'm heading that way for vacation and just cant seem to make 2 trips in a month down there. If you wanna wait, we could work something out

you get my pm's?

right cylender is draging and barely fires
. replied to jack24piper's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
did you forget to take your stash out of the inside of your filter again? It's a good hiding spot......until you go to ride the next time :: -
if you need someone to send it to you still, send me a pm and I'll give you my address. I've been on this site forever and I'm not gonna screw you or anything. I helped someone in Europe a long long time ago and its kinda cool to help someone who couldnt get parts otherwise. I think its pretty fucked up how companies wont ship....and if they do, the shipping charges are astronomical.
-
you wont find a better woods pipe out there probably. Awesome low end power, nice smooth midrange, and they pull as long or longer than t5's on top.
-
that looks like a verde seat...could be wrong, but I've seen some that look like that
-
send it usps as a gift.....its a LOT cheaper

everything is good with that explanation except for the blaster piston thing. People used blaster pistons before wiseco came out with the 795's. Using the blaster pistons means you'll have to bore your top end out to .080 over I believe? and once it gets to .10 its time for new sleeves. Go with the 795's and you'll get more lives out of your top end.

does your buddy have a leakdown tester? You went lean somewhere and if you rebuild it and its still sucking air somewhere its just gonna do the same thing that happened this time. what did the smoke smell like? Crank seal went bad? Start with pulling your plugs and see if their are metal flakes. Make sure you remove your head in numbered sequence backward or you can chance warping your head.

you probably have a stock K&N filter setup. The banshee airbox is designed that the lid holds the filter in place. A real poor design in everyone's eyes except yamaha. If you ride sand, go with an aftermarket K&N setup, and if you ride anything else go with a Pro Design foam filter setup, and then ditch the airbox lid and jet up about 3 sizes or so on your mains. The make an outerwears setup that velcros around the top of your airbox, It's a nice setup that helps with keeping debris, mud, water out of the airbox.....now if I could only remember where I saw it.....
