Ok, I have had turf tamers on the bike since I bought it. Recently I have been riding at places that are mostly sand and the Turf's are spinning WAY TOO much...
My concern is gearing and tire selection:
I ran last week at this place here in FL that had pretty smooth wide open sand pit area. I was able to go WOT pinned in all gears, up to 6th for a good 3-5 seconds. The prob is that I felt that I needed another gear since it was about at redline but not pulling any more? I know its mostly because the truf tamers were prob spinning like crap.
So I want to get a good set of rear paddles, but just something decent thats going to hook up good and not cost too much.
However, right now I am running a higher gearing (17/40) but with smaller 18" tires! So I was thinking since most paddles are 20-22" my 17 sproket might be too tall with those tires?
I have a cool head, 18cc domes, some home made porting, SST's, PCII's K&N no airbox lid, and jetting are the main engine mods.
Would I be able to just get the 20" paddles and leave the high gearing alone, or should I get 18" paddles, or lower the gearing to 16/40 and get 20's?
From last weeks riding, I would think that I could go bigger on the gearing\tires since I was WOT in 6th....Or maybe thats because it was spinning and NOT hooking up like the paddles would
