I was thinking about that, but I would loose 6th gear which I dont want to do esp for trails. Plus I heard its not as reliable as a stock tranny... I think I will stick to a few other mods for now. (RZ)

Some builders believe the 2's actually create More power than the 3's. As long as you install them properly, I would stick with the 2's. I just bought replacements for my 2's rather than spending $$$ to upgrade ..... If you didn't have the 2's already, I would say get the 3's. Spend the $100 you save on an adj timing plate (unless you already have it) and other stuff ..

Been there done that...Have Jeff's shifting mods and its shifting pretty good, just wanted to get opinions on this mod....I will most likely leave it alone .. :cool:

I didn't find too much searching on this, but hear that cutting off every other dog ear from the tranny gears makes finding the next gear much easier. If I have my tranny out now, would it be beneficial and worthwhile to have these cut? I am mainly trail riding and occasionally racing, but want to get some suggestions on this and see if its even worth it ??

It will depend on your compression, but I would at least run 93 premium

Ironhead, I am in almost the exact same position as you, but I have a 35mm single carb. Trying to figure out if I should go 38 or not. What type of porting do you have? I have a woods port. Sleeper: I love the single carb for my setup. Will most likely stick with it for a while...If you have an aggressive dune port, a 35 still may be ok, but it depends how much top end you are looking for....For my setup its probably not taking any top end away, at least not much if any.

Yep, I agree. Jeff helped me dial in my woods port over the phone and we got it almost perfect from the get-go! One or two minor changes due to temp, alt, etc, and it was F.A.S.T. :biggrin:

I used to run Dominator at about 36:1. It ran fine, but I was tired of renewing the yearly membership fees and honestly think that Klotz Super Techniplate is just as good or better, so I have since switched to that and not turning back :thumbsup: but it is good stuff...

I was thinking about getting my cases port matched as well, and would be interested hearing any disadvantages...I have read many posts on this, but have not heard too many negatives, other than the small increase in power 1-3hp?

Not to hijack this thread, but has anyone done a yfz swap from the arms out: Spindles, calipers, and hubs??? I was thinking of doing this and wanted to see if anyone else has attempted this...Specifically, the spindles as I am trying to find out if the banshee tie rod ends fit on a yfz spindle?
