One thing it could be also is a dirty air filter....it's happened to me before (outerwear was clogged). Especially since it only does it on the top end; maybe it's clean enough to provide adequate air for the low end but not enough for when your in the top of the powerband It's a thought... Is there any way you can describe what this misfire sounds like? Does the cylinder just sound like it's cutting out on you at high RPM's? It "could" be your coil but I would think if that was the problem then it would be doing it all the time. Let us know what you find!

Noon? My ass is gonna be knockin at your door 5am Friday ready to finish the second leg of the trip.... I'd like to be at LS by 10am. I think my final plan is to leave out at midnight and start heading your way. I'm gonna get off work Thursday and load up, go to sleep for a few hours then get up and head out. So, who's coming on what date? Is everyone planning on just coming on Friday or are some of you gonna make it in on Thursday?

The hoses could also be getting dirt/mud in them plugging up the line not allowing proper ventilation My friend had that happen to him on the vent tube that comes off the gas cap, the dealer put a hose on it at least 3 ft long and when it got clogged, it wouldn't allow the gas to flow freely down the lines into the carbs causing all kinds of issues. We cut the line to about 10 inches long and haven't had a problem since. This might be what you're experiencing.

I actually took one right after I bought my YFZ450. They were offering me a 100 bucks off my quad if I went and "passed"...LOL It was pretty cool, especially since my friend and I were the only two there on sport quads; everyone else had giant utility quads. They basically go over proper riding techniques and such and then you go out and do it. Our teacher had a bunch of cones in the middle of this field and we just used them as a track. We had a great time though, our teacher had my buddy and I leading the group around the cones, he could clearly tell we weren't there for the training, we were there for the money. I did learn a thing or two, if you have the opportunity to go...do it. It's only a couple of hours and most dealers will give you some $$$$ for going.

I would keep the 2 into 1 carb, go with a set of FMF fattys and find a builder you can trust and get a good port job...maybe add a Noss head to raise the compression too. That would be the best bang for your buck I still have the carb setup but the Paul Turners and the T5's are both sold.

Aww man, that was a low blow right there....I was pretty fucked up when I laid in the truck that night. Every time I turned around you were putting a beer in my hand I think I just drank too quick....8-10 beers an hour made my stomach a little tight and I didn't feel like yakking on the campfire That's alright though, we'll see who passes out first this time I think the 30th thru the 3rd will be a good time to go...it shouldn't be too crowded, it's not like there's a school holiday or anything that time of year...I really don't care which camp we stay at, as long as I'm there is all that matters to me

On the timing question, did you happen to notice if your timing plate had little "hash marks" on it? If you look at the pic below, on the right side of the timing plate there are numbers from -10 to +10. Those indicate how many degrees you have advanced or retarded your timing. Does your timing plate have those markings? That will tell you where you're at for sure. The only thing I've heard about eliminating your crossover tube is that it makes jetting a little tougher. By removing the crossover tube you basically take out the "equalization" between the carbs. I wouldn't imagine you taking out the tube would cause any of the issues you're seeing.... First thing I would check is your timing plate, and as long as you're not over +4 you should be OK. If that is the case, then I would head towards dropping your main jets by one size and see if that corrects your top end bog. And of course, be sure to check your plugs after changing jets to make sure you're not too lean. Do you have the compression raised at all? (Cool head, shaved head, etc.)

Are you talking about a lugnut? If so, I'd get a 13mm socket and a hammer and beat it on there...slap your ratchet on the socket and turn away. I usually do that for rounded bolt heads and it works well.
