  1. I agree, but it should still start/run with the 30's in there, I ran mine back in the day w/30's a few times trying to troubleshoot a problem. My guess would be that the problem is one of these two things:
  2. Take the heat gun, turn it on and hold it a few inches away from the white mark. After a few seconds, you'll see the plastics start to blend the blue into the white stress mark. Use a sweeping motion and be sure not to hold it in one spot for too long, or you'll melt the plastic. It's not hard at all, and does make a noticeable difference. You may not be able to get them all out, but should be able to make them less obvious.
  3. Words can't explain the fury within when I saw a straight up red frame, when it was supposed to be red vein, and after it took 3 weeks opposed to 3 days. But, the PC'er is getting it handled, being very good about it and said it'll be finished Wednesday...so I hope! I can definitely relate to your frustrations though!!!!! It seems like no matter how hard we try there is always something holding us back! I'll be there regardless if the drag bike is done...but yeah, it's right around the corner, I didn't realize it either until this weekend. If I get all my parts in I can have the bike built in a day
  4. Speak for yourself...everyone knows that you'll never get anything near what you put in it, and for the amount of money someone could spend on buying your bike, they could build their own the way they want it. Why don't you get off your lazy ass and part it out, if you're so concerned about making you money back?
  5. Yeah, it sure does!! All I can do is put what I have together and finish it as it comes in! Everything should be in within a week
  6. That's what you have to keep reminding yourself, and when the day comes...it will all be worth it. Just to re-assure you you're not the only one going through this kind of stuff. I dropped my lightened frame off to be powdercoated 3 weeks ago, they said it would be 3-4 days (local guy). Got the frame back Friday and it was the wrong color :: :: :: I've got a dune trip coming up in less than a month, still waiting on my frame, my cylinders haven't made it yet, and only a few weekends to get it done. My stress level is through the roof!!! lol, but it will be well worth the wait when it's back together
  7. Congrats on the wins, guys!!! Great news to hear
  8. Thanks Eric, same goes for you too! I really appreciate the instant payment
  9. I always liked that idea too. I don't really start mentally waking up until 3 or 4pm, lol. I think it's a good idea about longer hours in schools. Get all the free education you can...You'll be glad you did when you get tossed out in the world and have to pay a house note, car note, insurance, and put food on your table. Good paying jobs are getting harder to find, and the more educated you are, the better off you'll be. Even if you're making good grades now, take a class just for the hell of it, you never know what you might need in the future
  10. For factory finish, that's the same price Duncan sells them for as well.
  11. I think the people that are successfully PC'ing the stock arms are using the infrared curing lamps and not sticking the parts in an oven.
  12. I ran two master links on a chain once and didn't have any problems. I did it to tide me over until I was ready for a new chain, or it stretched out enough to take the extra link out.
  13. I'm between seal level and 400ft, running 20cc domes with a lightly ported engine and am getting 159 psi in both my cylinders. I would see if you can get another gauge just to make sure you get the same numbers. Just curious, but are you holding the throttle wide open while you're kicking for the compression test? If so, and the numbers are the same with another compression tester, then I would be looking into rebuilding the top end
  14. Don't quote me on this, but I think the only place that sells the PT pipes is Duncan racing. Only other place I've seen them for sale is ebay, or on a forum.
  15. This post really belongs in the mods and repairs forum, but since I'm already in here, I'll offer some advice. Have you checked your head gasket and or/ the surface of the head to make sure it's not warped?
  16. I was 23, been riding for almost 4 years. My folks never let me get anything like this cause they were trying to "shield" me from getting hurt, so I had to get a quad on my own when I could afford it. My first quad was a beater, (and a banshee) didn't run but was a complete quad, and my friend and I tore it down and rebuilt it. I started on a banshee, went to a 4 stroke for a while and am back home on a pair of banshees. It's the only quad I really enjoy riding.
  17. Yep. Pro wedge 2's will make a really big difference in traction. They don't look like much, but they hook really hard. I always took off in first....maybe it was just habit
  18. I think that would be a little too much for a stock crank (assuming that's what's in the bike). Unless you have an aftermarket crank, or plan to get one soon, I wouldn't get anything smaller then 20cc domes. Raising the compression significantly will cause a stock, un-welded crank to separate... I do agree with the v-force reeds and aftermarket head though. Not only will you have more torque, but the engine will run cooler w/ the Noss head
  19. Here's the blue vein kaotik1 had done  I don't know if they could do white w/blue, but I think the black and blue would look better against chrome. Just my .02
  20. I never ran out of gear with a 14/41 and a drag ported set of stock cylinders. What kind of gearing are you running now? BTW, happy birthday!!!
  21. Yes, and yes. I tried everything possible to make it work, short of putting a pingel petcock in there, which I know I didn't need for one carb. I'm using the same fuel line on the stockers that I used on the 2 into 1 setup, I just think that the one carb couldn't handle what I was trying to use it for...
  22. Another...I like the black better, would look really sick candy blue vein...might want to check into it
  23. That's what I did with my frame, had it done in candy red vein. I'll have pics this week. My powdercoater said he could do blue as well, just FYI Bansh-eman, here's a really quick edit I did, I can make it more "detailed" if you want it. I think black, candy or translucent blue, or blue vein would all look real good.
  24. Start with a 27.5 pilot, 280 mains
  25. I'm using FMF silencers but you have to make a "connector" out of 1" round tubing to adapt the pipes together (pipes and silencers both have female ends). It fits pretty good, I'll take some pics if you want to see them.
