fattys with powercore 2 silencers for paul turners
bigboybanshee replied to bansheefreestyler's topic in Swap and Trade
OK, what's the point of having a sponsor if you have to provide the parts and pay for them out of your pocket? You sure you didn't sign up for a fan club or something? -
I think I remember sredish saying something about the more you advance your timing along with high compression the harder it is to get started when cold. (dyna ignition) I guess you could always try and go up a size on the pilot, but I had a VERY similar problem and mine was compression. I installed a noss head and checked my compression immediately after and had 150 in both cylinders...I ended up riding about 10 hours or so and checked my compression again. 100 in one and 80 in the other. I think what happened was the rings were already nearing replacing, and after adding more compression to the mix it went ahead and did them in...If you haven't checked the compression after you noticed the problem, I would definitely do so to rule that out.

I think the PT's are great pipes, but to really feel their potential you need to compliment them with a good port job, bigger carbs, and raised compression. It seems like you need a good amount of power to really benefit from PT's design. Compared to my old pipes (T5's) the PT's don't seem to work as efficient on a internally stock engine with stock carbs...as where my T5's ran awesome with no port job (yet ) and stock carbs. If you don't have port work or aren't going to get it done, I'd hold off on the PT's and go with the fatties, they seem to be a great all around pipe for any engine. But if you are running a ported engine, and have aftermarket carbs, the PT's would be a great pipe for you. So, my answer is based on what you have done to your shee

will a few wot runs be too much with these jets?
bigboybanshee replied to BigDaddyK's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
If you're right at sea level, go do a couple WOT passes and check your plugs with the 280's. I wouldn't go up to a 290 before checking your plugs with the 280's first. If the 280's are a little lean, go ahead and slap the 290's in there. My Toomey's didn't like the 290's in the higher RPM's, shee spit and sputtered, ran like shit. I also have the same airbox setup as you do at sea level. -
My Toomey's blued about 3-5 inches down, never had any overheating problems and my jetting was dead on...Some people say the blueing is from heat, some say it comes from the quality of chrome used...I say, check your plugs, if they look good, leave it alone and keep on riding! If you don't like the blueing, polish will usually remove most of it...

You should be just fine, especially with the airbox lid on there. At absolute worst you may be a tad lean depending on what your elevation is...but not too lean to where you'd mess anything up. I ran 280 mains with my Toomey's at sea level and the jetting was dead on. Do check your plugs though..... Smart choice on keeping the stock needles! -
How many do you need? I might be able to help you out.....

I have a pair of headlights removed from my banshee a couple weeks ago and replaced them with torch lights, both worked upon removal. They came off a 94, in decent shape but have the plugs cut off the wiring. PM me if interested, I can give you pics beforehand

I had this problem when I bought the standard chain...I went to an O-ring chain and it helped a lot. Also make sure your axle nuts are tight, if they loosen up your axle will shift which will loosen your chain too.

That is awesome man!! I wouldn't change a thing, you definitely have talent!!! That's the best nitrous bottle I've ever seen... -
Ohtsu Tires <---- Link This was all I could find that seemed worthwhile looking at...I was checking out their selection of tires and they don't seem like anything extraordinary, most tread patterns looked pretty familiar....nothing I would rush out and buy without hearing more from people who have ridden on them
-
Same here, never heard of them but I'll see what I can find out
-
Just go huck it and bring back pics...so far all we've heard is I'm gonna try this, or I can almost....just DO IT and people will start respecting you a little more. Almost everytime you post it's about you wanting to try this backflip or you getting something new so you can do the backflip or some other trick. Sickboy is so right, the last pics you posted were of you on a bicycle riding off a curb. Bring us proof, respect will come

That's where it's at right now...it has a little play, nothing major at all which is why we slapped it back in there during the last rebuild...I just wasn't sure if that little play was bad or a "sign of things to come". I'm having some issues with my clutch slipping, I pretty sure it's out of adjustment though...my old clutch cable was shot and had been hanging up, I think I just need to adjust my pressure plate now that the cable's been replaced. Again, I appreciate the help!

I know the ones on the lower a-arm are NOT replaceable...I just broke one and had to replace the whole lower a-arm to fix it. I'm not sure how the heat from the oven it's "cured" in is going to affect it, may not harm it at all... I'm sure someone else on here has tried this or knows better that can tell you for sure.

Mine does it too, once shee warms up, problem goes away Nothing to worry about!

This is exactly the information I was looking to receive! Thanks to everyone for helping me out I was looking at those performance engineering baskets, as well as a few others. I'd like to get a hinson but that price is a little scary Thanks again!!
-
So, the problem is with the basket, not the gear, right? I just wanna be sure before I fork out the cheddar to get an aftermarket basket. Any other advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks

May be parting with my shee

The way I look at it is...if you feel that you would be able to get more quality time on the bike, get it. Regardless of what your *toy* is, what matters most is what fits your lifestyle best. I'd hate to hear a banshee that's as good lookin' as yours go to a stealership, but, if that's what you feel in your gut, go with it -
No one knows?

Do you not know how ebay works? LMAO, you even posted your answer in the question... Please don't post the same question in multiple forums
-
I'd send out an APB on all forums you know he goes to...thanks for posting this, I'll know now to steer clear. Hope you get your cheddar back!
