  1. That's not a bad idea at all!!! I've always just done what Nitrotate was talking about...hmmmmmm
  2. Glad to have you back tithead!! I've been meaning to ask you how you ordered that 450 in black and red...I went to my stealership and they looked at me like I was crazy when I told them I wanted one in those colors...Shoot me a PM if you get the chance
  3. I think you'd be OK in the sand...Especially if you're running 19cc domes, have it ported, with v-force reeds and pod filters; you should be just fine running a 15 tooth. At first, I'd try just the 15 tooth with the 20 inch tires you run now, and if the 15 tooth helps out and you feel that you could get more out of it by going with a 22 inch tire, go for it. That way you'll only be out the 15 bucks it cost for the sprocket and you'll know if gearing is what's holding you back. I was really amazed at how much 1 tooth on a gear will make in how your bike uses the power you have....
  4. I still think it's your gearing!!!!! Stock gearing with 20" tires is a little short for the amount of power you're trying to put to the pavement. I'd try at least a 15 tooth gear with maybe some 22" tires to get more out of it. You have to remember that your bike will pull as much as you allow it to...if your gears are short, you'll wind out quicker. If your gears are taller, you have more "range" to pull...does that make sense? I have half the mods you do and I run a 15 tooth front with 22" tires and from 1st through third I'm ahead of my buddy's 450. I know it seems backwards but he starts getting closer in third but can't pass me. When we're both tapped out in our final gear we're going "roughly" the same speed. I'd buy a bigger front sprocket, you'd be amazed the difference you feel by lengthening the gear ratio...
  5. What gearing are you running on your banshee? That could be the reason he's leaving you....
  6. Something isn't right there....My riding buddy has a 450 that's piped and filtered and I can beat him, but barely...With your mods you "should" walk all over his ass
  7. Hey, that's what the HQ is all about, or at least, what it's supposed to be about Glad I could help out...
  8. You should have them in your hands by noon tomorrow. I pm'd you the tracking #
  9. Hey, just a quick bit of advice if you haven't done this already....make sure you grease the slides to help keep them from sticking like that. Better to do it in preparation rather than have it stick on you again out at the dunes when your haulin ass! Glad to hear you figured it out man!!!
  10. Maybe try a sledgehammer and a punch? Have you tried spraying any kind of lube on it? Have you unbolted the shock and it's linkage?
  11. You need a punch...If you don't have a punch use a long screwdriver to beat on and beat it out that way. I just went through the same deal a couple weeks ago...hope your swingarm bearings don't look like mine did!!
  12. When I get home at 4:30pm (central time) I'll look in my bag-o-jets and see if I still have a pair of 30 pilots (I should). If I do, I'll shoot you a PM and mail them out to you tonight. Or, if you get this before 4, send me a PM with your address and If I do have them I'll mail them out today so hopefully they'll be there before the weekend. The 30 pilot may not be the answer to your problem but we can at least try!
  13. Yeah, stock pilot with your mods does sound kinda lean...Check your dealer and see if they have them, if not, I'll check and see if I have some and if I do, I'll mail em to ya for next to nothing. But, even when you get the pilots squared away, I would try and resolve that issue with the air leak around your carb / reeds...you shouldn't have to dremel anything on your intake boots at all.
  14. They are but there is a box that controls them. I can't remember which one it is simply because my banshee never had the TORS, they were removed when I bought it. I know someone else can chime in and advise you better on what you need to unplug... On a side note though, if you know you have an airleak, I wouldn't mess with getting it running until you have fixed it. If you run it and it still has an airleak, you could really lean out that cylinder and say good-bye to your top end
  15. I think you should buy a TORS eliminator kit...If it's not your problem now, it will be a problem later. I would try disconnecting the TORS unit (unplugging it) and see if that fixes your issue. Also, the carb tops should be tight. If they're not, air could get through there and cause a lean condition, which could be the reason for your banshee to skyrocket
  16. Sounds to me like the choke tube is missing. I had a very similar problem the first time I built my shee and the choke tube wasn't between the carbs...that's my first guess
  17. That's a very good point, that could definitely be a factor in your case...
  18. The best head is the head my wife gives Seriously though, I love my Noss head. David Noss makes an awesome product and gives great customer service. You can't go wrong with him
  19. I wouldn't take it off, just relocate it. Cotton Eyed Joe makes a overflow bottle relocation bracket and sells thim off of his site. You could either PM him or purchase one off his site...either way, it's the better way to go. http://www.dunedevilinc.com/index.php?action=parts It's about 5/8 of the way down the page, on the left.
  20. Yep, 20 ft/lbs is the number. But, before I went at it a full 20, I torqued them all to 15 ft/lbs, then 18, and then to 20. Maybe it's just me but I wanted to be sure that puppy was sitting on there perfectly even
  21. Me too, I hear some good, some bad. But when I hear the bad, it's usually really bad. Sorry to hear about your losses rocketboy!
  22. Is your clutch stock or is it aftermarket? If it's stock, then banshee76179 hit the nail on the head. If you have an aftermarket clutch, then your clutch will be harder to pull if the aftermarket clutch springs were installed. As far as it moving forward a little bit, does it do it all the time or just when you first fire it up? If it doesn't do it all the time, then I wouldn't worry about it. Mine will do it too until the banshee is warmed up
  23. Holeshot XCR's? Like these? If so, they're great tires And to reply to your last post, it is an EXCELLENT mod for the money...Night and day difference in handling/turning and it added at least 2 inches in width.
  24. I just called the friend of mine who did it for me and he said that a 29/64 drill bit worked perfect. I love the mod and haven't had any issues in the year I've ridden on them.
  25. I'm no expert but 35mm carbs sounds too big to run without porting. Maybe this is a sign you need to send them off to be ported
