  1. lol, junk in the front...it feels good, doesn't really seem that long once you're sitting on the bike. Turning is fun though  If you all plan a trip, let me know, I'll try and round up a crew to come give you a run for your money :woot:
  2. Not yet but I was hoping to make a trip up there sometime this year. I wanted to travel a bit, go to new places and run. But, with gas prices going up this summer it may be difficult. lol, warm weather is something I really do like about living in the southern US
  3. It ran well, a little bit better with the changes I made, but do have plans to put the 4mil in the 3.90's before I retire it and put the 10mil in there. I've still got alcohol to switch to, and nitrous to put back on. Right now it's running on engine where it was on nitrous last year. Best pass Saturday was 4.24, 1.55 60', 74 MPH. I could throw a jockey on there and hit 4.00's now, but I want to be the one on it when it breaks the 4.00 mark
  4. I encourage anyone in the mid-south area to come out and play...track is open now, every Saturday weather permitting. Gates open at noon, test and tune from 1-5pm, bracket racing afterwards. After mid April, they will go to gates opening around 2 or 3pm, test and tune from 4-6, then races afterwards. They're opening early so we can get some practice in and shake off all the dust, lol. Doesn't matter how fast or slow you are, the races are bracket so its fair for everyone  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lsD2Npx9pc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQxagLE2f4o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_Nt67-hcfk
  5. I used 1/4" flat steel, bent it as needed to make the pipes line up and drilled two holes in each brace, and used two rubber grommets on each bolt for cushion. If you look at the inside of the pipes you can see the little brackets
  6. You just have to practice slipping the clutch off the line when you're on asphalt. I did it with mine and had a clutch last me all year, using Jeff's clutch and a lock-up. When I shifted, I kept the throttle pinned and slipped the clutch as I shifted, stock transmission. Sounds like a lot of your problem is in the chassis though, there's no way you'll be able to manage drag racing on a stock swingarm. You need at least a 6 over swingarm, and you'll want to set it up so the swingarm is sitting parallel with the ground, and adjust it from there...same goes for your a-arms, when looking at the front you'll want the bottom arm to be straight across...it helps with weight transfer throughout the bike. Got a pic of your setup?
  7. I've been a member on this site since 03, and a member on planetsand since 05. I own two quads, a trail banshee and a drag banshee. I'm still an active member here because I like being able to keep up with my friends I've made over the years, friends that don't go to planetsand. I also like being able to help out with some of the things I've learned throughout my experiences, a lot of info I share has come from planetsand. If you haven't noticed, I also have a premium membership on HQ...not because I want access to the video section, or want more room to upload pics, I have a membership to help Lee with the expenses of the site. Sometimes folks should stop thinking about themselves so much and think about what others are doing for YOU to give you a nice forum to enjoy. If you got a problem with spending 30 bucks a year for information/entertainment, you need to find another hobby, cause you more than likely can't afford the gas/oil to go ride. It's one thing if you don't find the site valuable enough to you to pay a yearly fee, but there's no reason to go trashing the place because of it. It pisses me off to hear folks trashing planetsand because they have rules and regulations that they uphold, rules and regs that were agreed upon when you sign up to the forums. Planetsand is extremely valuable to me now, as bansheehq used to be my main source for info and was my "bible" for banshees back when I was trying to learn. The site is expanding, it's Charlie's business, he needs help, and I don't have a problem donating 30 bucks a year to someone who's providing a place for me to share my love for the sport. I don't feel I was trashing bansheehq, I was pointing out the obvious which is fact. I'm not making anything up. If you feel its trash, then that's how you perceive the truth about the site. I have no grievances with anyone on here, I wasn't trying to make personal attacks, just stating the truth about what you see here, opposed to what you see over there. Even though I don't agree with a lot said by others, I don't hold anything personal, everyone is entitled to their opinion, as I am mine. Rico, I appreciate all your kind words, I definitely think of you as a friend too, not just some body behind a name.
  8. It's 25 bucks a year
  9. You really don't want to me to get started, lol. I'm just sick of all the people whining and moaning about paying 15 fucking dollars a year to use a site that is extremely valuable. How many people blow several thousands of dollars on their bikes without thinking twice about it...and 15 bucks a year is too much. Give me a break Dave, I'm not sure what to say, lol....I feel the site is valuable to me...well worth 15 bucks a year...I'm totally cool with spending the cash....if it's too much for you, I am sorry.
  10. There is a HUGE difference between what he decided before, and what's happening now. Before, everyone had to pay 60 bucks just to view and use the site, now he is giving reasonable options to support the site. You don't have to pay to be a member, or to read or post, you only pay if you want more forum options. 15 bucks is HALF of what a premium membership is here on HQ, which a large majority of members on this site pay voluntarily because we want to support the site, because nothing is free, and the site admin has to pay for our luxury of using the site...plain and simple...that doesn't seem fair that someone else should be forced to eat the whole bill for us to enjoy. 25 bucks will get you more there then you get here....and even when you don't pay, you can still read/post, and use the site, just can't search and you have no PM's. Who cares about the PM's, you still have access to the site sponsors, which have phone numbers, pick up the phone! Oh wait, that might cost money....forgot everyone is counting pennies to support their hobby. If there's someone posting something in the classifieds, drop your email address in a post and you can discuss your business that way, I don't think I know anyone without an email address...they're free, the cheap-asses shouldn't have any problem doing that I burn 25 bucks without thinking twice, I've given away parts worth more than that....if you use the site, and like what it has to offer, pay the price. One thing that makes me sick about a lot of people is they always want something for nothing. If you're not into drag racing then you really would have no interest over there...half of you folks that are trashing the place don't even have an argument in this deal...just jumping on the bandwagon cause you think it's cool to bash PS, because HQ is soooo keewwwll cuz I can cuss and post vulgar pictures, and make worthless post after another asking the same freakin question...and we can verbally abuse each other over here...WOW!!!
  11. These problems haven't been around but for the past few months. Forum upgrades, trying out new features, learning what will and won't work...it's a work in progress. And the fact that it gets hundreds of hits while they're trying to resolve the issues only makes the process slower. HQ went through stuff like that, may have been different issues but it happens...When a server is getting pounded it runs like crap Back on the subject though, I still don't understand how the site sucks because it stands behind its rules...rules agreed upon when signing up...if they suck, why did you sign up?
  12. It'll be his but I'll still have a small piece of ownership in it :ninja:
  13. That's exactly how it was too, only a few other quads, mainly stock raptors, 400ex, etc. My biggest competition was the motorcycles, and its fun for a minute but sometimes they get pissy when you whoop them, lol. They never said anything directly to us, but I'd hear about it later through the grapevine. I got sucked into the 300' scene because the competition is much better, but I love the rush of running 1/8 mile on the banshee...the way it hooks, pulls, and how you're flat out flyin by the time you cross the line. The crowd's reactions were always a big plus too  Gotta take care of my boys Dave! This guy has been a great friend for a long time
  14. Running it the first part of the year in the drag chassis till I get the 10mil, then I'm building a bike for my good friend and I'm gonna start him off right with the 4mil.
  15. yep, both
  16. I have no idea, I'd have to dyno it.
  17. I'm running my new chassis and 10mil on asphalt this year. Rico, sorry I hadn't gotten back to you about the tires, I went out to the shed and one of them had a puncture in it, apparently when I tossed them in there they found a sharp object
  18. It wouldn't be me if I didn't throw my .02 in the jar, but there are things that planetsand has to offer that would never be available here. If you're not into drag racing, then I could see why some of you wouldn't see the site as a benefit. If all you plan to do is keep your engine near stock, or up to a small cub, HQ is perfect for you. But if you want to get deep into some of the most recent technology and power, you can't find ANYTHING here. It's ALL on planetsand. The rules over there aren't that bad, I've never received a written warning or anything and I tend to be a little on the vocal side when it comes to opinions. But as long as you don't have a foul mouth, and keep your manners about you, planetsand is a wealth of information; what's new, how to build it, where to get it, and 9 times out of 10, someone is available to help on almost any question. I used to not care too much for that site, but the more involved I got into the sport the more valuable the site became to me, and I've met some incredibly nice, helpful people over there that don't visit bansheehq. It's nothing personal bansh-eman, but why can't you pick another word other than cuss words on the post? You knew it wouldn't last long, you knew it was against the rules, you knew you'd get banned....why do it and come over here and complain that you got banned for breaking the rules? A site is stupid because you can't cuss? THAT's what's stupid to me, most of us are mature enough to be able to think of a better word than a curse word, simply out of respect...maybe I don't get it
  19. Why is it more fun? When have you ever run asphalt on a banshee to know the difference in which is better? Just because you like 300' doesn't mean that everyone should do as you...people are allowed to form their own opinions. I think if you're new to asphalt, you should start running 1/8 mile first, on gas. Master your 60' times, familiarize yourself with the surface you run on, practice tuning the shorter passes before you step up to 1/4 mile. It's real easy to burn up a bike on 1/4 mile if you don't know exactly what you're doing. Once you get to where you're running consistent in the 1/8, change your gearing and move up to the quarter mile. Once you feel that you've got that under control, switch to alcohol. That'll give you more time to learn about it too, and what you'll need to run it successfully. These are just my opinions, I've run asphalt several times before, it's a lot of fun, if more people would run it I'd be out there every weekend instead of on the dirt.
  20. Bought some pipes from Mike, awesome guy to deal with..the pipes looked even better than expected and he packed them extremely well. Great communication too, thank you so much!!!!!
  21. Or you could spend just a few dollars and make your own out of a piece of flat metal, stick it on the back side of the gas tank. Clean, easy, and shortens your harness A LOT!
  22. 5 minutes. I'm not going to burn a lot of time to make a quick laugh. It would make a very nice avatar for you though. If you give me a pic of yourself, I can slap it in Ledger's place in no time
  23. Damn, I wish I would have seen this earlier, I have a set of 11 paddles with about a 78 or 80" rollout I would have let you taken for next to nothing. If you ever need anything like this, PM me, I may have it...and you know I got your back
