why did you cut out the black and white one it goes to the cdi box its used to kill your motor,
-
just use a yz type kill switch its got two wires a black and white one and a solid black just splice the black and white one into the black and white wire in your harness, but if i'm correct you should be able to just plug it in then just ground your black one

-2,-1,0,+2 through +16 extended swing arms
trail rider replied to jamesbrokman1's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
ive just been reading the whole story and heres what I think so far. I think this whole business/idea kinda got started on too big of a scale and the guy started getting replys and offers and requests all at once for shit. and I think in one post he said he was workin 12 hr shifts 7 days a week. and he plans on doin all this work with the swingarms and a-arms on his off time? is he superman or what? im sure this guy has got the parts and material and skills to make some nice stuff, but other things aint exactly tallying up with his schedule I guess. im sure though this guys stuff would become pretty well known if he had time to really get some work done with it and start selling swingarms and a-arms an all. but I guess what I mean is, he needs to make some extra time if he's gonna be this serious about making the parts and getting this business started (if thats what he's aiming at). when/if things really start to rollin with this deal we could use a couple swingarms. one for a wr500 powered drag blaster and one for a banshee (stock) -
WHO RIDES A SHEE IN HARE SCRAMBLE?
trail rider replied to firefighter534's topic in XC/Hare Scramble Forum
yea its deffinatly about how good a shape your in and how much riding experience you have on a banshee. I know there are probably some people out there who trail ride with banshee's that are probably good enough riders to run with the pros like ballance and the other guys, if they were ever given the chance and allowed to race together. and as for a banshee being setup for woods racing, I dont think its really that hard. you really dont need much motor work. I'd say just a stock ported motor with just some good all around pipes, aftermarket reeds, +4 timing, good airfilter, intake setup, and maybe a coolhead and that would be about all you need really need for power. then look into better suspension, a-arms, axle, wheels and tires and skidplates and you'd be pretty much ready to go. all thats left is a good enough rider to take over from there -
you can take some cola and aluminum foil (the stuff that you can cook with) and it will remove rust and polish and clean your chrome at the same. seen this on mythbusters on the discovery channel and I had to try it my self and it really does work pretty good. just pour some coke on the rust and let it set for a few seconds and then scrub away at it with the aluminum foil

Works 16.25" shocks on stock A-Arms?
trail rider replied to charles_in_houston's topic in Suspension
if those are the same kind of works shocks I got on my 250r then you might be able to use em without any trouble. do they have like a clip type preload adjustment thing on the top? it looks like a bunch of little grooves that this little c clip thing sets in. you could be able to just set the preload as soft as posible so that it gives you alot of sag in the front end and that way the front end wont be as high -
thats probably cause there too easy to ride with the smooth wide power band. I agree a banshee takes some getting used to when all you do is trail ride with it, but when your on the banshee you got one of the badest bikes on the trails thats for sure. we got two banshees, one has bills pipes and the other has pro circuits. the bills is just a little bit smaller in the expansion chamber than the pro circuits. both work awesome in the trails. to me, I think the bills have a little bit harder hit and pull very hard in the mid/top and the pro circuits kinda build a little more low end and dont hit as hard on the band but still pull just as hard on top as the bills. both are good pipes for the trails though, and still have good power on top for when you hit the staight sections. but i've not ridden the banshees much in awhile, I own/ride a 250r and I love that thing in the trails. I cant hardly stand ridin the banshees in the trails after I ride the R so much. the banshee's are now my brothers' bikes

thats what we did on our silver banshee. its also got tcs front shocks set really soft, which makes the front end set pretty low to the ground. that thing handles like a F1 sprint car :baseball_bat: . it'll dart back and forth real quick just barly turning the bars and doesnt raise up or anything and it makes it have a very tight turning radius. works pretty good if you want to do some really tight technical riding, like in a atv rodeo or something where they have barrel racing or a salom course through the poles. but the steering does feel very awkward. and like the wheel on the inside of the turn if your not careful will get cocked around completely sideways and bind up against the tie rod, which is pretty dangerous if you ask me. so far we aint had any major problems, and it only messes up like when your pushing the quad backwards or somethin and the handlebars turn, then one wheel will turn completely sideways. and at high speeds it is harder to turn, takes a little more effort. so I guess if you need a quick and cheap solution to get some width on the front end this is it. but it does have some drawbacks and it is probably better to do it right with a-arms and differnt ofset rims than the stock ones

well, the banshee section on there wasnt nothing much to brag about, but there should be no question that the hq is the #1 banshee site on the net, period. but E2S was probably the number one place for the older 2 strokes like the 250r's and the quadracers and such, you'd have a hard time finding a better site. and the site layout was very good, and it had alot of cool features that the hq doesnt have.
-
damn that sucks ass, everything2stroke was a very damn good site for 2 strokes, lots of helpful info, especially for the older 2 stroke bikes like the 250r, quadracers, and tecates. I was a new member there and also visited the site very often, and I will deffinatly miss it. It was the best site I could find for info about my honda 250r and now its gone but atleast we still have the hq so not all hope is lost

maybe thats what I need to do with my R i got. I have a bad problem with not hooking up on starts when I drag, even on pavement. I have 12/36 gearing and regular 20'' holeshots in the back, and a extended swingarm, not sure what size though, and when I take off in 2nd I just spin on pavement, in the dirt its even worse, I somestimes dont start hookin up until 3rd or 4th. I guess I need some different tires cause these holeshots dont hook up. how much would a 13t or 14t front help me would I lose much bottom end cause I mostly ride trails? I have pretty good take off, but I seem to shift through the gears pretty fast.
-
well, if your stock and dragin against a 450 dirtbike, you really aint got a chance in hell, enless you get lucky and he cant ride worth a shit. 450's are fast, even if they are 4 strokes, and dont let nobody tell you different. cause if somebody doesnt agree with that, than they've never rode one.

Im looking for some good banshee engine cases with no damage, etc like from a chain derailing or damage in the crank case from a crankshaft going out, or anything like that. one of our banshees has some pretty bad damage on the top and bottom cases from the chain coming off the sprocket (previous owner). even made a hole in the transmission thats jb welded right now. and screwed up part of the case where the stator cover is, it has a big piece missing and doesnt seal up. so if anyone might happen to have a set of good cases they dont need give me a PM or reply here.

Since we're on the 250r power disscussion here, does anyone here know of any good 250r porters? I'd really like to get mine ported when it starts getting close to rebuild time. Im pretty sure I want a good all around porting that pulls strong in mid and top without trying to lose any bottom end. and im probably going to get a esr trx 5 pipe, since that's what eveybody seems to suggest as a good pipe. and maybe get a pro design cool head and run about 150-160 psi. and does a bigger carb really help that much, cause to me it seems like the stock carb does just fine
-
My 250r that I got a little while ago is mostly stock, just has vforce reeds and fmf silencer, and a supposedly rebuilt transmision and fresh top and bottom end. Its a pretty clean bike, has a extended swingarm too. it runs pretty good I think, alot more low end torque than the banshee, awesome riding in the woods and trails. but when we drag race its almost sad how slow the banshee makes the R look  . even 400ex's beat my R in a drag. but I think it is still a blast to ride even if it doesnt have the arm ripping pull of the banshee. but I hope to change that someday, maybe get this thing ported and get a good exhaust, and they say that a new cr ignition really wakes it up to. maybe then I will be able to hang a little closer with the banshee

honda 250r drag pipe for sale
trail rider replied to trail rider's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
I will also consider a trade for a good condition 250r pipe and silencer. Im looking for a good all-around pipe for trail riding and stuff. -
I have a ESR trx 11 hillshooter/drag in frame pipe for sale if anyone is interested. I have about 5 hrs of ride time with this pipe, so it still looks like brand new condition except for the black carbon in side the pipe, chrome plating is still very shiny like new. im asking $250/obo

if you still have the overflow bottle make sure that the line coming from the radiator goes to the bottom of the bottle and not the other way around running it straight back into the vent hoses, cause thats what the guy that had ours done
-
does anybody have a rm 500 motor 83-84 or know anybody who has one cause i've got a blaster frame thats empty and would love to stick one in it to make a drag bike, thx
-
thats what we did on our other shee, mounted the cdi opposite of the coil with just a yz style kill switch and just the wires needed for it to run, , along with that we ran the coolant overflow line down the front so it looks clean over the motor no hoses or wires

the clutch basket has the little grooves wore in it where the clutch fiber plates go. and I think the inner hub has some wore spots on it too. I cant really tell if the pressure plate is wore or anything though. Which one of these would contribute to my problem? it makes this thing a bitch to ride cause the clutch feels so weak when u pull the lever even with the hd clutch springs, and you cant hardly shift through the gears and it is impossible to shift to neutral with it running, but it sure doesnt slip any when your on the pipe. would a new pushrod and ball help any?
