  1. yup still for sale.
  2. I just had a random idea come to mind and wondered if anyone has ever tried putting 250r a-arms/spindles, etc. on a banshee? yes I know they wont bolt up and you would have to do some mount cutting and welding. I have a complete 250r front end from my "honda banshee" project, I might try and see how much it would take to make the 250r front end work on the banshee frame. ive got the tools, just gotta make some time maybe on the weekend or something. mainly looking to keep it around stock width cause I ride tight trails, but maybe it might help it control a little better, who knows.
  3. I have a set of ASR's pro series a-arms for sale. These arms are in USED condition, and will come with the tie rods too. They will need to be painted or re powder coated again from normal wear of trail riding. They have brand new HEIM joints top and bottom. The bad news. One of the tie rod ends is bent just a hair but still adjustable. And the shock holes are wallered out but have washers welded to the outside, Also the new HEIM joints are somewhat tight. The guys over at asr said that they would have to be broke in still. $200 plus the ride obo http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp255/k...ker/asrarms.jpg http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp255/k...er/asrarms2.jpg http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/pp255/k...er/asrarms3.jpg
  4. the 85 atc swingarm is different. it looks the same as the 86 and 87, but the 85 uses a smaller bearing carrier. I found this out when I bought a "86" off ebay, and when I went to put my lonestar carrier in it, it was no where close to fitting. then I did some seaching and found the carriers were different for the 85's.
  5. that wire is part of the tors system, and seeing as the throttle wire is already cut you probably won't have to unplug the tors brain box, just go ahead and unplug the wire where it splices into the harness. Does it still have the stock carbs on it? if so theres wires going to them also.
  6. I cant give you any feedback on a banshee steering stabilizer, but I got one on my 250r and it made a noticable difference in the trails and stuff. I dont know what kind it is, but its got 7 different stiffness settings and the stiffer you set it, the more effort it takes to turn the bars. but this also helps calm the front end down a whole lot it you ride fast through real rough/ rutted out trails and stuff where your tires are getting bumped and kicked around alot, and it helps make feel easier to keep the bars straight instead of haveing to almost fight it and stuff. if you do ALOT of riding, not like one day every few weeks or something like that, but like every weekend and in between some times, then I would recomend a good rebuildable one. cause they do take quite a pounding if you ride hard.
  7. yea the race was pretty fun. they just posted up the scores this evenin and I placed 5th out of 11 people in the class, not too bad I guess. the course was alot tighter and rougher than I thought it was gonna be. but I think then funnest parts was the water crossings where all the people was screaming and cheering us on, thats when i'd really put the hammer down and let it scream. right after that that creek crossing in the video there was a real long stretch beside the tree line, probably about a quarter mile long. I got up to like 5th gear wide open before it came to a big gully crossing.

  9. heres some video from yesterday. raced a harescramble that had two creek crossings and this was the bigger one. I come through on my banshee at the end of the video, and theres a guy on a blaster in front of me that crosses. I was nervous as shit about crossing it cause I figured it would drown out right in the middle, but sure nuff it ran damn good the whole race and never sputtered not even once in the water. still got some more videos I can upload later. I placed 5th in my class (C 21-24) out of around 15 0r 20 riders I think. it was a hell of a track, about 10 miles and only got in 2 laps in the 1 1/2 hour long race. some of the tightest cut trails ive ever rode on and pretty damn rough with some really steep off-camber trails. I know one thing though, you have to be DEDICATED to race a banshee in a XC race. mine is pretty well setup for it, but it still wore me out with in the first3 miles on the track. I deffinatly need some different handle bars and a 450r thumb throttle.
  10. yea just use the stock one that's already in the case, stick a vent line on it and run it straight down between the swingarm and motor
  11. Hey guys i'm looking for a steering stabalizer, any body out there have one for sale. thanks.
  12. Man i feel famous, i got my picture on the gncc racing offical website. Go to the photo report, click on loretta lynns atv's and scroll all the way to the right side, it's the 3rd to last pic, can't miss it. Action shot baby! Heres the link to the gncc page http://www.gnccracing.com/archives/the-war...se-photo-report
  13. if you wanted to save some coin, you could just have your stock one cut and lengthend out. Im sure any welding or machine shop could do it for ya if you dont have the tools or know-how.
  14. yea a longer steering stem would help you out quite a bit. not sure about the fast flex bars, never have used any. you should be fine with +2 a-arms and gforce axle since you said you had about 6 to 8 inches on each side. fender cutting is all preference, I bought mine with the front fenders cut but i'd rather have full fenders on it. but either way you get muddy no matter what, full fenders or not.
  15. how much money do you have to sink into it? and exactly how tight are the trails? if its real right technical first gear trails I wouldnt worry to much about getting wider a-arms and axle. some decent aftermarket shocks for the front will work fine, and just soften up the rear stock shock and it will work fine too. you got a good choice on the tires, and bead lock wheels are nice if you want to spend the money on em. wouldnt worry to much about an over sized radiator, the stock one does fine in most cases as long as you keep on the move. invest in some good skid plates for the chassis and swingarm. hand guards are worth the money to put on, and main thing is to get it setup where its comfortable for YOU to ride, not just buy a bunch of expensive parts to put on it. sometimes a different handlebar bend can make a world of difference. you really dont need to worry to much about motor mods for a trail banshee, just some lowend/mid range ported jugs, a coolhead, and advanced timing will supply you with more than enough power to use in the woods. the stock carbs work fine, and a 2 into 1 carb setup works great aswell. and you'd probably want to stick with the airbox and lid since you mentioned water and mud.
  16. heres another site for vin numbers, works for any make bike or quad and even cars and trucks. http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vinDecoder.asp
  17. what kind of motor work do you have? if your not worried about ground clearance and 6th gear pinned top speed, some 18's with tall gearing will give you some pretty good acceleration, but I still dont think it'll match the final top speed as with 20 inch tires. yous probably want to try the smallest back sprocket you can get and probably a 15 or 16 tooth in the front. and for tires i'd reccomend some holeshot mxr4's. the have some really soft knobs that grip unreal in dirt/hardpack and even in grass, but stay off the street cause they would be eat up quick on a banshee.
  18. try looking for some 20-10x9 carlisle trail wolf tires. I scored a set on ebay dirt cheap and they are some hooking mo-fo's.
  19. i'd love to see that thing race a 4cyl 600. I bet it will smoke one through the gears, but the 4cyl will probably outrun ya in the last gear. what size sprockets do you have on it?
  20. nah I forgot to add, its got a hotcams powervalve system too  hell maybe somebody might notice it and ask why its on there lol, I got some hotcams stickers I might put on it too lol
  21. heres some pictures of my banshee I bought last week. has beadlock rear wheels, full skidplates on the whole bike, fmf gnarly exhaust, vforce3's, noss coolhead and ported cylinders. only thing I put on it so far is the 5 gal gas tank and works front shocks. plan on doing a XC race with it in a few weeks. the bike screams on the topend, but the clutch slips alot when ever it gets in the powerband. still havent pulled the clutch cover to see what its packin. all it needs is a decent set of tires (already got an extra set of razr 2's for the front) and the clutch issue fixed and it will be a solid bike.
  22. don't feel too bad, your not the first one too do that. When one of mine melted it looked like the lens had a tumor and was sticking out really far.
  23. well he come in about 30th I think, had some bad luck and ran most of the race on 1 cylinder cause the throttle cable messed up. I was on my 250r and placed 16th, there was about 60+ riders in just our class (first year racer) heres a picture of us on the start line. I dont think we did to bad being as that was our first race we ever did. there was just one other banshee besides his, a bone stock one with razr tires, and I think he placed between us.
  24. after the 08 ironman gncc race back in october,
  25. I think you would be happy with a set of these.......carlisle trail wolf's 20-10x9. work awesome for any type of trail riding, and the straight line traction is pretty shttin good. hell you could probably cut every other row out like they do with the kenda knarlys and get the the same kind of results.
