i didn't pay much attention to the specific classes at the last race. i plan on going to the next one in april, if so i'll try to pay more attention to the classes so i can see what setups the guys in the 350 mod class are running.
-
i know, i saw your bike run. your 421 cub may be the exception and not the rule. i understand that the setup of the entire package is key. i'm sure you have a lot of cash wrapped up in the chassis though. you guys would know better than i, i may be mistaken but it seems to me that it would be a great deal cheaper in the long run to find an old shee and modify it instead of starting from scratch with a custom drag chassis. unless one could find some killer deals on used parts. mainly the frame and engine. i'm just thinking out loud, and i appreciate everyones input.
-
i agree. i prefer the metal core COMETIC cylinder base gaskets though.

well said.

not in detail. this is some what more detailed. modified chassis: to what extent? i'm assuming no after market custom frames?? to what extent can a stock frame be modified? takeing off weight is one thing, but can the geometry be changed? for example; can the front end be extended , etc......? i'm not trying to be an ass, i just want to know the details and the limilts of the class. right now i'm not able to get involved in a drag only shee. but, i want to eventually, so i can race and have fun. mainly to have fun and be some what competetive in a specific class. but i can't and won't spend the the money to compete in the big CC classes that allow custom drag frames and the big CC engines. i would like to but i can't and won't. i've been down there twice and i've seen the bikes that run down there. i have a 421 cub in a stock frame, i know that i can't compete in the "anything goes" classes. for one one i don't have an over ride tranny or a lock up clutch. plus i have a stock chassis with a +4 swing arm. i'm no fool, i'll get spanked. i don't expect to win a lot or if at all in the 350 mod class, but atleast there is some type of a more affordable competetive ceiling. where as in the big dog classes for the most part it's about what what you have to spend. i know that's not always the case, the set up of what you have in any class matters most, but in the open classes anything goes. i would like to eventually sell my cub jugs in order to set up my current shee to be more of a an over all rideable bike and then start on a "specific class" drag shee for fun. i need to have a feel for the classes that i MAY have a chance in.

can anyone post the rules in specific detail or a link to the rules in specific detail for the 350 mod class?
-
can you run alky in the 350 mod class?
-
what???? i was there, we met up. LOL

i agree as well. i like my 421 cub (+4mm), but to me it's a tweener motor. it's no good for the trails, so in order to get it set up properly in order to enjoy all of the power, you'll need an overide tranny and lock up clutch, like dave said. in my mind if you're going to need the OR and LC, along with the other goodies you might as well spend the extra for the +10mil and be done with it. i know that the +4mils run strong, but if you have the rest of the bike set up properly you might as well get the larger engine IMHO. i knew this when i put my +4mil together but because i don't race it i wasn't concerned with it at the time. but, i sometimes think to myself that i should have went big, or stayed with a set of stock ported jugs for the +4mil crank in order to have a bike that was more ridable overall. which wouldn't require a OR or LC. because i don't race and i don't have a lot open space to let the cub eat i'm concidering selling my cub top end and getting a set of ported stock jugs in order enjoy the bike again. i would like to have another bike, but that's out of the question for now. IMHO, go big if you can.

why are they concerned with decibel levels in the dunes? i can see people being concerned about it in smaller confined areas.
-
soon you'll know what it means. you won't be able to keep your hands off of it. the poison must cum out, some one has to do it.
-
it was pretty cool watching the fast bikes run. dynodon, i was trying to meet up with you but every time i saw you you were working on someone elses bike or up at the booth. maybe next time. i met up with dave and joe, and had a good time chit chatting with them. i also had a good time at the concert with joe and his dad. i plan on being down there in april to check out the festivities again. hopefully the camping area won't be as packed as it was this past weekend. i was told by many people that this past weekend is by far their busiest weekend of the year. i hope they are right, it was way too caotic. what happened to chris's bike, the blueish one? it looked like the chain popped and took off the exhaust????? any significant engine damage?
-
what time does the racing start?
-
yep, they are sweet pipes.
-
yeah, take it from someone who learned the hard way. but, if you're looking to get their in-frame stainless steel exhaust system then you've made a good choice. what are you looking to get?
-
no, that's not it. they are environmental friendly cylinders. they were ported by the EPA. hence the name "woodsy"....... woods friendly.
-
come on dude get a clue. when someone tries to sell something they need to give people an idea of what they want. "i'm" well aware of what things cost. again, if someone is interested in buying a bike and they have an idea of what they want to spend, and they see a bike that they are interestested in they want to have an idea of what it's going to cost so they can hold off and wait until the bike is finished. or, if it may be too much then they'll look elsewhere. what part of that don't ya'll undersatand? where did i ever say 3K, or some low ball figure? maybe someone would have been holding off and this dude wanted too much for ones budget and they missed out on another good deal. the point of selling something is trying to get a certain amount out of it, tell people what you want, or a ballpark figure, that's my point.
-
oh, i can fucking read and i can tell from my reading that you're an idiot. "around $5,000", now that's a start. if you were so concerned with people knowing about this being sold shortly when it's finished so that they could save their money, then you should have given them an idea to begin with. if i would have been interested and finally had the money and you didn't give me an idea of what you may have been looking to get out of it i would have bought something else. i'm sure most people feel the same way and would have done the same. do yourself a favor in the future, when you try to sell something give people a price, or atleast an idea of what you are looking to get.
-
"cub cylinders are NOT trail friendly!!!" this is an undeniable fact. you will be much better off getting your stock jugs ported like loco said, and you would be much happier. the only other thing that i would say is, if you like the DMC's stick with them. there probably isn't much of a difference, not enough to swap to T5's IMHO. the DMC's may even have a slightly smoother power delivery than the T5's, which should help with traction. i've had ported stock jugs and i now have a 421 cub. the cub is a blast in the open but the power delivery is irritating in the trails, it's the wrong type of power. sure you may be able to tame it slightly, but why? not enough to make it trail friendly IMHO.

hello, can you hear me??? HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT?????? don't let this turn into another fiasco like the fullbore bullshit. it should be a nice bike when you're done but it won't be the holy grail of banshee's. people won't be tripping over one another to pay you an un-godly amount of money for it. finish it and name your price. damn, some people never learn.

Billet clutch basket - 2 questions
cam2 replied to charles_in_houston's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
personally, i would ask that cat for a refund. not only does it have the free play that you say it does, which it shouldn't. a couple of teeth look screwed up to me, from the looks of the last pic. some sorry phucks will sell anything. -
BRC ALERT: LEGISLATION TO BAN ALL OHV USE BY KIDS UNDER 12
cam2 replied to pipebomb's topic in General Banshee Discussion
hell, i've seen many kids 12 and under that ride better than some adults in the area that we ride. no joke. i apologize that i didn't read it, it's too long for me. but, i get the jist of it just from the title. -
you know when you go to rocky mountain atv (or similar sites) to order stuff and on the right hand side of the page it shows other items of interest with links to those items. well, trinity should have something similar on the page that shows the plug locks, like links to new top end kits. if trinity knows that there is an issue that causes the plugs to come loose, why do they sell a plug lock? why don't they tell people that they have an issue, instead of trying to make a few bucks on what seems to be a band aid product. i guess they figure people will come back and get a top end kits as well. i've often wondered about that.

my favorite is to ask them if they sell firearms. which gets them all flustered, then i'll tell them that if they can't give me a good deal on a firearm then i'm not interested, if i need something i'll go buy it. not only is it funny, i'm serious.
-
yeah, it works great. i'm glad that i bought it. i eyed everything up as best as i could. the tool showed that i was off, but not now. now that the carbs are synched i noticed that my throttle response is better now, obviously.
