david plays it safe and i cant blame him since if he said go low, and you puff your top end, well you know....20cc is the lowest id go at sea level on pump 91.....i rode at death valley 500 feet below sea level on david's 20's with no problem but wouldnt push it past that, with timing at +4 you should still be cool........run 19's and 100% race fuel....but look to get your crank welded at about 170 psi, or you could be riding on eggshells......

looking back it was kinda funny, them damm towing hooks they put under the bumber, i couldnt have messed it up more smakin it with a sledge hammer......ill dig it out and snap a pic.......

loosen your preload, and set your rebound 1/2 way out about 10 clicks, compression about 2 -4 clicks in, your rear spring is making you pogo off any thing with lift, it probally really blows on fast jagged straights, your bike needs to squat for proper lift off jumps, then the rebound will slow its travel back to the top making the transition from end of ramp to sky smooth, you want as little compression as possible so you can soak up fast ruts, let the rebound handle the fast hard hit's, put your front springs all the way soft, you might soak up some small stuff that way, the stock springs are going to bottom regardless, and with no valving you cant slow down the top of the travel so your stuck there, bottoming isnt all bad you should on the biggest obsticle on the track, its how it comes back from the bottom of it's travel thats pogoing you........ and i agree aceleration is everything, if you lob your bike off jumps prepare to land hard no matter what your suspensions like, on the gas sometimes 50 footers can feel like jumping the curb, timed right and in the proper gear as SDD mentioned...my 2 cents....

get the 04, he doesnt have 1100 worth of mods and is askin about 900 to much,3k in mods would maybe net you back a grand on resale, so if he added a-rms and shocks and the stem wasnt bent and the rims were douglas or itp with good tires id maybe offer him 4k. providing the platsics wernt all dinged up

get a pair of nice slotted, offset, polished ITP's, skip the spacer, you'll use the itp's even if you change arms, your bike will look better and be wider, and you wont have to worry about snapping them off and breaking your neck, spacers are a mickey mouse way to widen your bike and not very safe, some guys swear by spacers and will say there's never twist or snap but those are usually the guys that ride like chicks, smokin down a straight hittin obsticles at 60+mph can prove deadly with those, i have a friend with a broken arm and shoulder who no longer swears by the spacers.......

Torque it right it wont leak, id rather change a 40 dollar dome than a 240 dollar head to change cc's, ive been using o-rings on both my shee's for ages, never had a leak, and ill bet not many others have as well, and David at Noss is going to answer your post with a humble apoligetic reply, but im thinking you didnt install it right (you rub grease in them so they seat correctly) and if any heads torqued unevenly it will leak, (there is a torque pattern, stamped in your stock head) or we could take a shot in the dark and say that his CNC machine milled one uneven?, the head you described is a milled stock head, fixed domes milled for a certain compression, stock gasket, 60 bucks a pop, you could get a shaved 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, and 0.40 for the price of a good aftermarket head, ream the coolant paths and go that route.......

Andy's engines do haul ass, your bike should scream Rod, sounds like as your budget allows you'll be goin faster and faster, im lucky enough to have my wife stay home with my varmits as well, id rather have a 70hp shee and good children than 90hp and paying someone to raise them for me, and on behalf of your wife ill bet she's workin her ass off just not gettin paid, my wife went to visit relatives for a week once leaving me to take care of the kids, i couldnt wait to go back to work!!............

Rod, why dont you shoot for 80+ hp, you could allways tame it with pipes and less compression, then as you yearn for a little more just drop your domes a cc or 2 and run a cpi pipe......what i like about jim at passion is his porting technics kick ass as david just posted, his motors are winning races, he's an extremly cool guy and will help you get what you want from your motor and answers his phone ive talked to him several times on the phone, it's kinda nice to not get a machine that says call me on tuesday between 4 and 5 pm, and in my case i sent jim my entire motor, carbs and twist throttle right back to my airbox, my build will be completely "turn key" he got me a clutch, impellor, timing plate, new intake for the bigger carbs,new domes and reed spacer from David at Noss, extra jetts, will make the throttle work and will make the bigger carbs go back to my airbox for my single K&N, basicly ill just drop it in, slide the throttle over my bars boot it over and ride, granted alot of you guys will just send out your jugs, but jim will also bench my motor and run it for me, i took my whole bike to my friends at action motorsports and jacey and shaun, charged me a 100 bucks to R&R the motor and UPS was 70 bucks to ship, Jacey worked at Mission Yamaha for years jetting all Teds port work and shaun and his uncle build monster shee's for the dunes with rudy at Port Magic, so all in all i feel like im in pretty good hands....my bikes not in a thousand peices in my garage and im at work making the cash to cover my build......

i cant wait to get my motor back from Jim, hopefully i'll need a diaper endorsment......
