  1. jims a great guy to work with, rudy at port magic in hesperia has the glamis thing sewn up, id still call jim he answers his phone
  2. Jacey or Shaun at action motorsports in hesperia california specialize in shock rebuilding
  3. yes i would Kelsey, id love to hear all about that..... and as far as selling, be my guest, your head which can only run your domes is around 340.00? head and domes, i would suggest anyone wanting a custom dome go with your services or patriot who can cut a dome for a noss or pro design head, but if we took 2 stock motors and you made domes for one and i put domes on the other that gave it 100PSI more than yours, yours would dyno with more power? everything i thought i knew about a engine just went out the window..... but im not doubting your knowledge what i know about combustion you shit out this morning, but when i upped my compression by 65PSI it sure woke my banshee the fuckk up, can you explain why?
  4. i think about 140 miles straight up the 15 north, it is a bit higher than glamis so just bring some jets....do a chop right off and adjust accordinly, might just run a little rich but thats cool.....ive gone from glamis to dumont on the same jets no problem
  5. Comp hill is currently around 1200+ feet tall give or take 100 feet for wind conditions and the past couple of weeks it's been real windy, dumont is considerably smaller than glamis, as far as sand goes but the dunes are taller and steeper, but surrounded by hundreds of thousands of acres of some of the best desert riding you boys will ever ride, bring dirt tires as well, from Vegas your looking at about a 2-3 hour drive south on interstate 15, there are no services at dumont, in fact during the week you could have the place to yourselves, bring your cell phones and ride in pairs or groups, to some of you 30 degree's is summer weather but bring your jacket anyway the wind at night gets cold, but in march the days will be around 60degree's, if you make it to the top of comp hill you'll be at around 2500 feet so jett accordingly, keep in mind if you eat it bad and someone calls 911 your at least an hour from the hospital even if they chopper you out, so ride safe and bring all that pesky uncomfortable gear, sneakers, shorts and shower thongs are not recomended for desert riding........
  6. i turned scottm onto my never used set from an o2, with the whole throttle, maybe he'd part with them.....i have a pair of stock carbs with the tors removal kit installed that will be up for grabs next week...
  7. kool thats not bad for havin a couple hundred hours on her. looks like the fresh K&N for every ride helped out........ You clean your air cleaner before every ride too eh??? After 4 years I had my jugs ported, and the people that did it said the pistons looked great, and the cylinders still had some of the original cross hatch patterns. Nothing like preventative maintanence to save you a headache and a much bigger bill down the road. yep Stan i do, i also wipe my ass after every shit......
  8. I have a little "personal" track at the house, the neighbor kid launched his blaster of my 60 footer and bashed himself up pretty good, his moms comment to me was "did you have to build the jump so big" ive since wrapped it with a chain link fence, liability can be a son of a bitch, be careful........
  9. push down on yer seat see if it it works after all the spinning of the knob
  10. i think you answered your own question......the spring gage is lighter than the stock gage and with no rebound or compression adjustment, well thats the reason you get aftermarket shocks.......
  11. im looking out my window at a couple hundred thousand acres of dirt....who's gonna insure it?
  12. kool thats not bad for havin a couple hundred hours on her. looks like the fresh K&N for every ride helped out........
  13. thats where im at why buy a fancy stock shock, works suck........
  14. im in thin dry desert air......
  15. im with banchetta every shee ive ever rode or raced with larger carbs and no port work to swallow the extra fuel, was boggy down low and never really got out of its own way, i have a pal who went with larger carbs then proceeded to start jetting it back so far trying to get the snap back in his power band that his stock carbs were passing more fuel and air, and he fiddled with it a plenty, i told him whats the point in going with the larger carb just to pinch it off so tight, and still not gain anything....
  16. Jim i forgot to ask you.... should i keep the single K&N with Panties? or go to a foam filter, well you got my whole motor, how did my intakes look running the K&N?.....
  17. Thanks Tat, i was going to simply try a 17/41 over a 15 but Chase73 made an exellent point, with a 17 no more case saver, id hate to throw a chain and ruin all jims handy work by tearing my case up, i doubt ill need to go lower than a 16 but if i do i can allways toss a 15 back on her.....
  18. i know Jim i cant wait till next week to try this out, but i think you know from all our talks what i was after, all our conversations pertained to bottom end, your motors goin to allow me to jump the gate maybe grab 1 more gear and hold off a bunch of other crazy open class riders, on short shitty rutty outdoor tracks, where there idea of grooming is pissing on the track with a water truck, i dont doubt for a sec this motors going to pull through the top like a son of a bitch and that will be so fun for smokin my pals in a 100 yard dash, but im more looking forward to being able to pull, from nothing to 8 g's lickety split, then have it snap right back up, no clutching no down shifting, ill play with my gears to find that spot, im thinking a 16/38 for starters, that should keep my torque on the floor specially with my full race elka SSD's and -2 swing arm, my shee sits 9"s from the ground and soaks up most everything and corners like a slot car, i might have to strap myself in now......and thanks so much for your great service and fantastic knowledge, and for putting me into the motor I wanted, i dont think i told you but i had a RD-400 also, remember jamming around on that bike in the late 70's? and yours is cherry as fuckk, so is your wife's 200, if you ever wanna part with the 400 port her up and send her my way ill give her a happy home...
  19. no i didnt..... turned out the catch was i would have had to buy his head to run his domes and i wasnt about to trash my Noss head for his rubbish, nor my pro design head, both can run davids domes, david just came up with a new dome design im running those on this new motor, should be intresting
  20. he could just be a moron?.........or a moronic theif
  21. Sounds like your my man then Jim, I will give you a pm after the weekend and we can start to throw some ideas around. Blue hasnt steered me wrong in the past, and judging by some of the other post i've seen u make around here I dont think hes wrong this time either i think jims your man, XT, he will listen and give you what you want not what he thinks you should have, we tamed my motor (via my domes) since i might wanna take a 50 mile run from my house to dumont, but on race day i can unleash her, ive ridden the "other guys" motor thats why i didnt go with them, i really have never been that impressed, i think jims stroker will give me bottom right off of idle and thats what im looking for, a blistering over revved top end is for dragsters im riding grueling terrain, i want to haul ass till i need to back off, then snap it back on till the next obsticle, i think jim has a good understanding of that.......
  22. they should be, the snappier bottom helps
  23. mines a billit finish, i cant recall shipping i remember it came second day though, and davids a great guy, loads of help........
  24. you'll be fine, go have fun.............
  25. if you guys dont hear from me again after i get my motor bolted back up, you'll know i died with a smile on my face.........product review, coming soon, Jim at Passion's +4 stroker...stay tuned!!
