Need a ton of porting info and other motor work
Blue Duece replied to PassionRE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
hey thats a good point on the gearing chase....jims saying 80 hp, he's recomending going from my PC's to CPI in frames im wondering if theyll work for MX since im all over my bike on the track, dont wanna leg burner, your going to run turner hi rev's?, ill be at 370cc, what carbs are you gonna use, im going with 34's, jims going to rig them back to my stock box for my single K&N, and aslo do all the cabling for my twist throttle, jim adds 2 ports to the intake, should just haul ass and im with you between my chassis and suspension mods, ill get alot of that power to the ground and be able to hang on although we will both need to learn to ride allover again (lol) it should just be a blast, im coming off 60hp, with my trinity bike im thinking 80+ is going to be like night and day over 60.... -
its burnt to crisp, wont open again for a while.....

elka makes a dogbone arm to use a longer shock body..... i think if you go from your upper shock mount straight to the stock swing mount that the shock wouldnt travel at that pitch, you could weld something to carry it though, youd think it would be horrific for mx, without as the guys have said new frame and arm design, my arms at -2, and for mx you want a lower ride height, but still maintain max travel, thats why that elka arm that lets you drop the bike to 9 inches over the stock 14 and still be able to sky over jumps and whoops and soak it up, is pretty cool.....

Jim, thats the crank going in my motor isnt it?.....can you take some pics of my build? id like to see your 12 port design, before you button it up.......

Thanks for the wishes Matt and Gary, the fire department burnt back half of the valley that the fire didnt hit so if the winds do shift i think we are ok, the wind has taken the fire back up into arrowhead, i think around 60,000 people have had to leave this area, i feel for all the diego residence as well and the now santa clarita residence's and simi valley people, i had forestry from california, arizona and nevada all at the house, the cajon pass is now open so ive been able to go home, the mountains are blackened for as far as the eye can see, when this is over ill take the digi camera out on my shee and get some pics and post them, ThankYou all again, from myself and family for all your concern and well wishes........

wesico makes a nice one
-
thanks Tat.........Jethro, i know isnt that moronic to send a flare up in that brush, they are talking about pressing charges on the moron
-
keep the stock pegs though........the -2 controls are fun on trails but for mx your laying on your front end.....
-
wow glad to hear you guys and familiys are still safe, the san diego fire is bigger than the one by my house but both have proven deadly, the fire has blown through the valley and our home is intact but i feel deeply for my friends and neighbors who have lost there homes. i heard that the san diego fires were started by a guy sending up a flare cause he was lost.......

I couldnt agree with you more. I feel your pain man! stay strong were all here for you. thanks lefty......that 210 was nasty, some prick started that fire also then it merged with the one threating my house, just jumped right over the freeway and took off, the firefighters up here are falling asleep standing up, my wife just phoned, the wind is shifting again blowing flames down the valley where i ride, she just went and crossed the picket lines at the market and got 100 burger patties, my son yanked the bbq out for the firemen and is sitting on the engine getting a tour, the guys are showering at my place and my next door neighbors place, the winds around 40mph so its anyones guess........thanks so much for the warm wishes......my father suffered in ICU for almost 6 weeks at least he's in a better place, probally chillin with my mom and older brother...... Thats awesome that you guys are helping them out. They really deserve it. Theyre out there fighting a losing battle but theyre still trying to save as much as they can. I give major props to all the fireman out there, theyre just fuckin awesome! I dont know what its like to lose a loved one but someone thats close to the family lost his daughter in a shooting at a party in south central, I never met her but the way everyone turned and after thinking what if something like that happened to someone I cared about really bummed me out. Keep us updated on how everything turns out. if you looked up hero, balls and pride in the dictionary youd find firefighters, it takes a trophy set of nuts to walk into a 1000 degree 100 foot high wall of flame with a fuckin shovel in your hand, my wife just told me its about 40 degrees out tonight but you can feel a 100 degree breeze whipping through the valley, she says they are starting fires and putting them out, i guess so when the flames come the stuffs already burnt and cant jump that point and i see on the news some of the guys havnt slept in days i hope this little break they are getting now helps......

Thanks Evil i know your close and ill holler if i need something, everything east of ranchero was a mandatory evacuation and lots of homes burnt im about 15 homes west of ranchero sitting on a rim, they asked us to go but we dont have to, so our neghborhood is trying to make the forestry and local guys at home while they save our homes, the bitch is they cant fly at night so the water drops have stoped, they say rain for tommorow so maybe prayers are workin.....
-
damm jose i think more acres and homes are being lost by you, i hope you and yours stay safe......

it's funny how you dont even read this kinda stuff when you buy your home, theres a stack of stuff a mile high and your just signing away, soliciters call and write me all the time wanting to evaluate my life, health, home and car insurance i allways hang up or throw it in the trash, next time ill take a consoltation maybe i can save some money and get better covarage, i think the cap they have is not written in to the plolicy yet maybe some kind of break the state or goverment gives them under disaster releif laws, all the claims would bankrupt them or some such crap......
-
Thankyou Holyman thats one of the best tips ive gotten off the HQ, i just did renew my policy and actually was more concerned that my bikes were covered and never read the fine print and am not sure id unsterstand all the mumbo jumbo they throw in to those documents anyway, my home was built in 1997 and is stucco and tile, we have taken photos of most of our furnishings and such, if i understand correctly the insurance company has a cap for disaters? and therfore can give you less based on division of claims?hopefully i wont need a claim and if i dont ill consult a attorney who can read this policy, i want to be covered for what my homes worth not what i paid or what they think i should get, even if it costs more......

but there soft.......

yeah i do have a replacement policy..1000 detuctable but like i said my agent says in a disater they can lower it due to some bull crap that they make up as they go along, and i paid extra on my insurance for the 15g's on each shee so thay have to honor that, the CR's will fall into the blanket policy at blue book, my neighbor said it was legal for allstate to do that and all the compainies do, in this situation, but if my home were to burn by itself without the disaster i would get 100% all though i had my place apraised at 420.000 and thought i was covered for that, that same home back east would be 150.000 california is outrages for property and i am taking a risk living where i do, as is any mountain home owner.......but the news just said rain and snow for tommorow and friday above 5000 feet if thats the case, im at 2500 feet and that will put all the cali fires out...i hope
-
allstate.... i have a 1500.00 dollar ryder a peice on both the shee's, the CR's are covered for blue book and of course the house is covered, but if someone offered me 15 for my bike id pass when it was all said and done id have that in parts and time all over again, and it just wouldnt be the same, my agent says since it's classified as a disaster my insurance will pay about half of what my homes worth, but honer the ryder on the bikes so if my home burns im loosing about 200 g's what a freakin deal thats just about what i owe on it so my equity will go up in smoke....and to top it off im burying my father on monday, when it rains it pours.......

thanks for the concern Meat, i have a call into my friends at action motorsports in hesperia, they will go over and grab the bikes and help the wife anyway they can, there shop is more in the city and i live on the rim of the forest, so my bikes will be safe if they get them in time, im starting to think about stuff like a few grand in gear, pink slips in the safe, its a floor safe in concrete maybe the shizzel inside wont burn, firefighters are sleeping on cots in my driveway and garage and have dumped some fire retardant all over the neighborhood, my race bike is at action waiting for my motor to come back from passion so its safe, the CR'S are stock so can be replaced easy, but my desert shee has hours and hours of love poured into her, cash just wouldnt get her back, this bike has a mind of her own, we have a hill no one can climb, ive seen tons of bikes tumble down this hill, everything bent after tumbling 300 feet, i tried on my girl and didnt make it, she rolled down the hill on all fours and was just waiting for me, missing big boulders and shizzel, she's bucked all my friends that ride her, never even a scratch, you guys wanna see a grown man cry, melt her to the ground, come to think of it ive eatin it on my race bike (hell i stopped counting how many times) but my desert duece is my girl, id rather build a new house than try and replace her......
-
thanks mike..my business is 70 miles away in los angeles i just cant get home cause the roads closed....i could go around about a 6 hour drive, then be stuck at home, at least the wife has room for the pets and kids in her truck, id sure like to get my hands on the guy that thinks its cool to see a mountain range the size of newyork city burn though, and i hope the winds die down.....
-
id go 2 wider and 2 forward..2+2 for mx with a -2 swingarm.....+3 is getting kinda wide, you could bounce down a rutted track that wide
-
Well the wife called, fire marshall is in the drivway wants her and the kids to leave, im stuck in LA...1 of my bikes is at the shop, engine is out to jim at passion racing, 4 others in the garage, 2 CR's a XR and my Desert Banshee, looks like they caught some f*ck who was going to start a fire in wrightwood, hopefully they pin this fire on him and the prick gets a death sentence, so far in cali over 600.000 acres are burned and several dead, 1000 or more homes lost, the fuckin state is up in smoke, my place has a tile roof maybe that will help, but you look out the front window and you cant see the driveway through all the smoke, i just cleared my lot last week and the 10 acre empty lot next door, but you look 100 yards east to the end of my street where it turns into national forest and all you see is flames, forestry guys sprayed my home with that red shizzel though, and are useing my house as a base so hopefully i wont lose it all............

looks great Lee, i was right in the middle of a engine rebuild, but as it turns out the telephone, still is an amazing invention......great site Lee, we'll get used to it.......

chase im going 34's on the carbs, wesico crank, pistons. my noss head at 19cc i was going to go 16's but wanted a little cushion for trails and such, i should be pushin 80 hp also on 100% race fuel.... jim does his 12 port where he adds 2 intake ports.....i might not dyno this, ive heard of guys exploding race 2 strokes on the dyno for lack of drag on the bike....jim from passion can explain, i will shoot him this thread see if he can chime in....i know dan builds a nice motor, we should both be ridding whole new bikes with these mods.....im also gearing up maybe 17/41 or 17/40 ill try both though......
