  1. you could run a thinner base gasket that would lower the durations a little bit. I think they make a .12 base. That might get it down to 192ish and then you can raise the transfer ports to 130. They widen the exhaust to 70% of the piston size and let it rip. You could go a little higher on the transfers to give it even more midrange but you will loose top end. Its up to you.
  2. what pipes do you run 187 exhaust with?
  3. im sure you broke off the bottom piece of the shift shaft. It makes a c shape and it always breaks off. piece of shit. Everyone should carry a spare
  4. they went out of bussniss
  5. That grean bike is sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been looking for a ct90 with 150cc engine in it like yours Kevin. That thing was a blast and not too fast to get in trouble with. 107mpg would be nice too.
  6. I was talking with Kevin Herr and he was talking about how he was doing a really cheap deal on a 4mm set up out the door. I dont know if it was a special because i think all his prices are cheap or realistic but give him a call.
  7. I used a dek for mine but some guys run the eek not eej or do they? The eek made my mid and top end very rich and I knew how to jet for the dek which was 52 pilot and 205 main to 210 depending on weather.
  8. If I was going to mod out my banshee again the second thing I would do is porting. First is weld the crank. If you just had those two mods you would really feel a difference!!! best money spent
  9. did you remove the little black box under the left side of the gas tank? That will make it not idle.
  10. for 500 dollars dont change the sprokets at all. Leave them stock and get your cylinders ported. With the +25 hp you will pull the stock gearing. Give kevin at herrjugsracing.com a call and he will get you smoking those 4 strokes. Gearing alone will not put you ahead of the 4 strokes.
  11. for torqueing I like to set the gauge on the lowest setting and then do the order untill it clicks. My lowest is 5lbs and then I go to 10 and then the next.
  12. or you could just go twist. I have been riding my cr500 all this year and i like it more. My thumb does not hurt anymore. Also going fast over ruts is more controlable now, Before my thumb would just shake around on the level and sometimes fall off.
  13. my vote is for someone else besides kevin. All he has time for is porting. You guys take too much of his time to go to glamis so give him a break and let him ride. Ah im only kidding. Im sure there are a lot of great porters out there but after dealing with two of them and then finding kevin I sure do notice a difference in speed, customer service and turn around time. I got my first set done by ted boyko at mission yamaha and he told me two weeks and that turned into 4 months and the weld on the crank broke. Welds are suposed to be stronger than the metel itself. The cylinders came back with a 118 transfer and a 188 exhaust port. Not the fastest by any mean. And the price was 550 for porting.
  14. Outside diameter(around the magnets)- 4.900" Smaller rivited ring- 2.900"
  15. I have cut mine with no problems. Just cut a little at a time untill you are happy. I also got a longer thumb throttle from cascade that helps too.
  16. they are a little big better of a plug. It will work the same
  17. didnt you guys hear tcs got bought out.............. Its a whole new company now
  18. Its a little different than that. Take off the clutch cable from the clutch arm on top of the case. The with your hand push the clutch arm towards the clutch side of the bike. It should have a little free play kinda like on the clutch lever on the handle bars. Adjust the screw in the middle of the pressure plate to where with your finger you can slide the clutch arm on the case a little and it should point to the arrow. When you take your fingers off the clutch arm it should not be pointing at the arrow. When you push the freeplay out it should then point to it. Hope this helps.
  19. I drain it and put in 2 quarts every time. I dont look at the dip stick at all. Never had a ball weld either.
  20. I would grind it flat before anything. Thats a big hole to just put jb weld on it. Try to get a thin piece of alum to cover the hole then jb weld around it. Or you could just have someone weld it but I dont think its going to need it because there is not much pressure in the gear side. Either way it makes me happy to have a case saver!
  21. Just run two quarts of oil when you change it. Thats what I was told by rudy kurtz and I have been doing it since 2000
  22. going from dune trackers to mohawks takes off 6lbs total.
  23. I use the penny also but make sure its an old one. The new ones are not full copper. I cant remember how old they have to be.
