  1. I don't think the sst's will perform to the potential of the rest of the motor.Shearer pipes like alot of port work,the more the better.Listen to Jim he is wise about these things.

Jim Smart from passion racing engines can build you the motor your looking for.He built me a motor last year that I used for drags,but I also trail rode with it.I had a 12 port 4mill stroker.I was very impressed with the motor beeing a 4mill and running with the 7mill drag ported motors at the track.Give Jim a call and tell him Steve said to call him.You may want to try the newer version of the motor I had.   11. You have to split the cases to change the rod's on the crank.A true and welded crank is going to have the rod pin welded to the crank journal. You may be further ahead to get the new crank and have it welded,It cost almost the same as rebuilding the stock crank.
  12. What year is the bruin?I think the throttle set-up was all the same but can't remember.Let me know what year it is and I will see what I can come up with. You could also try the extended thumb throttle lever.
  13. I like the twist throttle and will not be switching back.But it is what you like that matters.You can cut some of the spring off so it isnt so long,probably the best way,but some people also grind some off the sides of the springs too.

I have used pro-x before in my trail bikes that took alot of abuse with no problems.The pro-x pistons are a good piston.I used Vito's too but they were the forged ones,and wiseco makes vito's pistons.If you are running a drag motor I would go with what is the proven best,Wiseco.But if your looking for a cheaper piston to run in a trail motor,The cast pistons should be just fine.

  21. You can have the X-3 set up for gas or alky.As for being unreliable I wouldn't say it's unreliable from what Jim said before there is just alot more maintenance involved.
  22. Yes a wiseco crank is very durable.Thats what I'm going to be using now.Again.

I was in the market for a 4mill crank and got a good deal on a vito's crank from work.It was just released so I had no Idea on how the quality was but I figured they are a good company so I bought it anyway.I done more research and heard from a few people that the vito's cranks don't hold together as well as other's. Let me just say if you are in the market for a crank to be used in a high horse machine that is going to be run hard,you may want to spend the extra money for another brand if you can.I destroyed my Vito's crank.It seperated at the drags not even making it but maybe 1/4 of the season.It was welded too incase you are wondering.After it seperated it was just worn to badly to be used again. This is just what I have encountered first hand and figured I would share it with others.Later
