  1. If you are talking about the LA Sleeve Mono block you will notice a little gains. The mono block will respond to porting better.Forget about using stock carbs. It isn't very hard to install. If you are talking about just the sleeves, there is alot of machine work involved.
  2. You will have to drill it for the choke tube and plug the hole for the oil injection.
  3. We ran Cpi outta frames and Shearer in-frames and the Shearers out performed the Cpi's.The pipe I found to out perform all the others I tried are the GRR Suicide pipes and I will not run any thing else.
  4. We cut every fourth row out for the drags and the way they hook is unreal.
  5. Most drag bars are 28'' wide with a 3'' pull back.No rise. Some racers use straight bars, but not all I think most use the bars I described. It seems that straight bars are harder or more uncomfortable to use.Atleast thats what I thought when I tried them for dirt drags.I never realy tried the straight bares on asphault though.
  6. The Shearer's are well know,by many top builders. They are kept secret. The Shearer's power make the CPI's look like low end pipes. We have used both. But I like my suicide pipes.
  7. Those are Shearer's.
  8. Reliability may very well be an issue, but the few passes you will get out of them is going to be well woth it.I don't think these are going to be for the budget racers but the racer looking to lay down some good times will be happy to run them. Some would say this is a '' looking to break some record's '' kinda motor. Alot of people think it's unpractical to build a motor like this.Well I know Jim is'nt the only builder with engines that are a potential time bomb's as you all are calling it.I think the engine will hold up rather well it'll just need rings replaced more often. Jim I can't wait to try this thing out!
  9. X3 coming to a track near you!!!
  10. Man that was a good response. I can't wait for the new motor!!!

  15. I have one of Jim's 12port strokers and I am very pleased and have no trouble.I drag race and the port job is all around, but at the track I am running right with all the bigger name drag ported motors.I have tons of low end,and the motor has awesome power every were.SO I SAY JIM YOU ROCK!! As for you guy's that are having problems, what kind of port job did you get from Jim?Maybe it's the wrong port work for the use of the engine. For an example... If you are Trail riding,Playing around or even Hill climbing a drag port may not be what you are looking for..Just let me say before someone say's I had so and so port my motor or I know a guy that had so and so port my motor with a drag port and I used it for what ever...Not every builder has the same deffinition for port work. Some would say my drag port can be used for Dune riding,Hill climbing, and of course drag racing.BUT others would say my Drag port is intended just for that drag racing. I'm not trying to get into a pissing contest just giving some thought.
  16. 4-snow's or paddles.Kenda Nomads work well in the snow too.
  17. I have done alot of cylinders.I use a time-sert if you can find them. The size you need is 8X1.25.If you take your time I have never had a problem.
  18. I want to see the banshee that has run the 1/8th in 4 seconds.Thats screamin. The fastest I've heard of is in the high 5's.
  19. I think there were some pictures on roostfest.com Try a search. You could have one cut pretty cheap.

  21. Pro wedge 2 Ohtsu radial like a honda factory tire Grooved turf tamers 4 snows I see alot of these around here.I run the turf tamer with every 4th row cut out. With the turf tamers and the chassis set-up I have I can bring the tires off the ground at the starting line and carry them about 5 or 6 inches from the ground the whole way to the finish line.Thats 600ft dirt. It's a bitch if you get sideways though.
  22. The Cheetahs are the way to go.I have seen T-rex and Cheetah top ends used and the Cheetahs are dominating.I'm not saying the T-rex is not worth it but The Cheetahs are capable of more.I can't wait to get mine.Of course any aftermarket cylinder will be an improvment over stock when going realy big.
  23. No problem.
