awesomeame Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 i'm rebuilding my shee, was just looking on ebay at piston kits, here's what i found: WSM gold-------$209 WSM platinum-$135 namura---------$140 wiseco----------$145 they all include gasket sets are any of the above choices fine?? or are some junk? my last set of pistons were from vertex, there was a ten thousands difference between the two. not too impressed with that!! --matt Quote
shanYE west Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I've used the WSM and Wiseco. Havn't had any problems with the WSM this year. Had some trouble with wiseco's a few years back. Never used the Namura pistons. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 wiseco. Heard some bad stories of the neurma. wouldnt want to try a new piston to save ten bucks. Quote
nunyabinness Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 wiseco----------$145 go with the wiseco. Quote
Washburn Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Definatly WiZeCO they are the most proven pistons in all cases with all sorts of diffrent motors. I wouldent dream of putting any other pistons in my shee. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Odd... Isn't platinum better than gold?? Quote
jjdillon426 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 (edited) I'd go with wiseco's prolites. they're a forged piston which will allow your bike to rev a little easier as opposed to a cast piston which weighs more. Just don't exceed 1100 degrees or you'll melt her down. Edited November 13, 2007 by jjdillon426 Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I have had the same set of Wiseco pistons in my engine for 6 years. No problems what so ever. Quote
13bturbofc Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 then why is the engine in your sig sitting on a bench and not in the bike....lol just kidding Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 wiseco motherfucker!!!! Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted November 14, 2007 Report Posted November 14, 2007 (edited) then why is the engine in your sig sitting on a bench and not in the bike....lol just kidding I had to fix a hole in the case at the clutch pivot. and add a stroker crank  but I used the same pistons and rings (6yrs old) Edited November 14, 2007 by Screaming Yellow Zonker Quote
