fryball2001 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 whats the difference between 2 into 1 carb and twin carbs. which setup is better Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 2 into 1 is just one carb. generally creates better bottom end.. id personally just stick with dual carbs... Quote
Snopczynski Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 do a search, it was covered just last week. I run a single carb, I like it alot. Quote
. Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 LRD did extensive dyno'ing between 1 carb and 2 carbs (used to have a whole big article on it, on their site) and I know at least with their pipes that 28's taperbored out to 30mm produced the best flow in every aspect over a 1 carb setup. Only thing I can see better about a 1 carb setup is ease of tuning and less clutter. It will however give you better bottom end over stock carbs. Quote

Well I am sure it had better flow, but what about velocity and emulsification? I run a 2 into 1 carb for many reasons, but one is not to feed a monster ported or stroked drag motor. My bikes going to the dyno here in 2 weeks to get tuned, but it will be compared to other bikes that were ran on the same dyno. The guy who owns the dyno has seen my bike run. He is interested in seeing what the power curve is going to look like on his dyno compared to other bike he has run on it. Most people on this board are so concerned about getting max hp out of a Banshee, I am only interested in getting a good torque and hp curve out of mine. Quote
swrbansheeboy Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 (edited) dyno numbers are only a tool for tuning in my experiance and have no reflection on real world output. you can have a bike that puts out 100 horse on the dyno and have it get walked on in the idiot holes by a bike that makes 35 on the dyno. my experiance with 2 into one carbs is they make more low end grunt than a dual set up but get walked on drag racing so it just depends on what kind of riding you do. if you trail ride and hang in the tree shots then a 2-1 is a good option but if all you do is drag then you need more money...lmao Edited July 1, 2007 by swrbansheeboy Quote
Matt96shee Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 i can tell you i like mine a lot! for one, my thumb doesn't wear out now!!! i'm running a 35mm pwk, vf3's and pt high revs on my RZ motor. so far i have no complaints. on a 300' drag (mine is no drag quad) i can pull ahead on a ported t5 piped banshee. i didn't run dual carbs on this motor so i don't have a straight comparison but i do know from my 'shee motor to this one, the single is easier for me to dial in. in summary, i like mine! whats the difference between 2 into 1 carb and twin carbs. which setup is better Quote

The article was on mx and gncc engines.....they have a whole different category for their drag quads (LRD is mainly an mx/gncc corporation) It went into how the taperbored 28's were better than 30's because of the velocity that the taperbore created, they've completely gotten away from banshee's for the most part and the article isnt up anymore on the site....wish it was, it was very extensive and covered every aspect Quote
NYUK Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 i have owned many banshees, and am from the school of NOTHING 2 INTO 1 SHOULD BE ON A BANSHEE,there is nothing 1 pipe or carb can do , that can`t be achieved with 2.i agree that a single carb out of the hole is a monster.every banshee owner drag races their quad for shits and giggles with their boys.single carb and pipe bikes peter out on top.there are many different pipes for low end, fatties, gnarleys, lrd`s like abyss said. lonestar Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 If you have a trinity 2 in 1 intake set up with trinity stage 4 stainless pipes. Have Harry (owner)at trinity do the porting. He'll make it pull on top. He does something with the exhaust port (stock cyl) to make pull on top with HIS PIPES without losing anything on your bottom end. I think he does something with that bump after the exhaust port leaving the exhaust port height alone. That two into one was designed around his pipes. To have Harry do it that probably ain't going to happen today. I had motor with this set up done by Harry himself. It pulled on top very well. Quote
Snopczynski Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 Personally I wouldn't let Trinity racing touch my motor with a 10 foot pole. If you want a good mx or low-top port job to accentuate a good set (or a single pipe) of pipes and that intake, then talk to Dynoport or Patriot Racing. Quote

I would'nt send my stuff over there either today. But their was time Quote
