If you are riding around like trails, hills, dinking around, or if you are on roads all the time, taking it easy in 6th, etc?

I think about 15-20 miles or so. I mostly do trails, and that seems to be what I got out of my stock tank. Before I wrecked my shit, I had an IMS tank, and that would last me fine for a whole 6-7 hours of riding.

Don't knock this dude, this is a legit question, he's probably planning a trip, or doing some long ass trails.

The above posters are right though, there are a lot of varibables, you might want to specify the type of riding you do, and maybe even your riding habits. I tend to kepp it high it the revs( :woot: it is a banshee), and late shift it. If you short shift it obivously that is going to help, and if downshit to help with the braking that will help. And you can always use your jewish overdrive(probably not PC anymore but I grew up with it)(just put it into neutral) when going down hills. Only once was I on a long ride where I wasnt sure, and I made it back on reserve, the above shit kind of helped.

thay have a website for guys like you:

j/k I once ran a desert race on the stock tank and came across the finish line (65 miles) on fumes....I was on reserve last 15-20 miles. believe it or not. don't care. setup was:

paul turner mids, stock carbs clamp on filters (K&N) stock silencers, 260 mains, and 15-41 gearing.

ran wide open throttle, most of the way.oh yeah eliminated TORS, which hurt when a slide hung up going into a 90 degree turn.....still pinned when I didn't want to be....but now I run the Clarke 5.5 gallon tank and don't worry about it. good luck.

last 15-20 miles, really?? That make me feel better. I was out at Glamis messing around with some uphill drags at night and forgot about my gas. I also coasted back on fumes.

Got pix of the shee with the clarke tank? Thanks

Well, this topic came up cuz I am planning to go on a 30-35 mile ride roundtrip. Want to take off from home and just wanted to see what you guys that have been on long rides had to say. I'll be taking some extra gas just in case. I won't be wot all the time. I am considering the larger tank but some bikes I don't really like how they look.

POst some pics of the clarke tank if you can get some1

:thanks: for replies

Maybe an hour of hill shooting.

All i know is that my ported cylinders completely ruin the gas efficiency.. im sure you all will agree. Shit i ran out of gas in the UP, had to use 20oz bottles to get back. A 20oz bottle lasted maybe 5mins, so maybe you could get some numbers for that.
