I ride dunes only..with a 4mm 400, and I keep it stock....14/41.........I dont know maybe I could run a different setup......but it seems to work fine for me :thumb:

It all depends on what you are doing with it and where you feel comfortable. I've run all the way from 13/44 to 15/40. I run 14/42 right now and kinda like it, but when I go to walden I will drop down to a 13 in front.

what would be good for duning with stock tires.

If they have a lot of tread still left on them, you'll have to drop the pressure down quite a bit

i run a 15/44. thats the way to go.

i could be mistaken but isnt a 1 tooth differance on the fonrt the same as 4 on the rear? if so then 15:44 is worthless.

but like i said i might be wrong cant member

naaa....its 1 on the front is equal to 2 on the back. Im running 14-41 with 22" Maxxis II's for recreation, and 15-41 with the 22's for desert racing. I back down to 13-41 with 20" ITP sandstar's for the dunes, and use 20" shredders or holeshots with 14-41 for MX.

I live in Nor Cal so I need the 22" tires for clearance. Otherwise I would run 20" all the time.

Id like to try some 18" rears for MX and keep the 14-41. although I could probably go to 15-41 with 18's on and keep my speed up.

ALso.....do a search on here for banshee ben's gearing calculator. its an excel chart that really helped me see the changes in speed. and alowed me to understand gearing a little better.

just so you guys know.... 1tooth in the front is 3 in the rear. but 15/44 is to keep stock ratio, but have a geater roll out. because unless you have some serious mods, stock ratio is the best for sand dunes, and trail riding.

What is the Rev Limit RPM on a stock CDI?

It depends on what kind of boost bottle you have...

Rebel...

I'm running 14/41 now, 21 inch haulers, 72 inch rollout, starting out in 2nd for my drag racing.

I'm switching to 15/41 this weekend, and gonna start out in 1st....
