Animalman294 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I am trying to find a builder that does good work and that is close to me. I really want to send my motor to Jeff anf F.A.S.T., but then I will have to ship it to Kansas (150-200.00). I am in Northern California, so anyone know of good builder's preferably in Sacramento area, but anywhere in California would be better for the shipping costs? Or do those of you who sent you stuff to Jeff think that I should bite the bullet and send it to him anyway. Any suggestions would be appreciated........... Quote
cbryant_2 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 LRD Performance is just outside of Portland. Not too far from NorCal... Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 who the hell quoted you 150 to 200 bucks??? thats fuckin outrageous. i can send a whole motor across the country for less than 50 thru fed ex. hell break it down into cylinders, and then the bottom end and send thru fedex... Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 worth every dime to send my stuff to jeff. I would do it. and I dont think it will be that bad to ship, I may be wrong though. Quote
odaen Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Nate McCoy is in Nor Cal (more-torque on PS), as is Adrenaline Power Sports (goes by Redline on PS). Those guys are pretty good, from what I've heard. Quote
RIPPEN Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Shipped my stuff from Colorado and it was only like 60 bucks and that was thru UPS so I would deffinatly check Fed Ex. Jeff is a great guy to work with and really fair priced. I would check all your options with shipping before ruleing him out. RIPPEN Quote
BansheeBrian Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Ran me around 70 from Connecticut to Jeff's front stoop. Quote
Animalman294 Posted January 24, 2006 Author Report Posted January 24, 2006 Thanks for all the info. I will call around and find out if it can be done cheaper than that (shipping). I really want to send it to jeff because I have heard so much about his work. I just need to send the whole motor because I want a 4 mil long rod with a set of cubs . I'll have to give him a call and see what he thinks I should do, I just wish he was closer............... Quote

But, it's hella nice to roll your bike into your builder's shop, throw it on his dyno, and tune it to give you the best performance. God himself could port your cylinders, and one tiny mis-calc in your domes will be the difference between being very pissed off and realizing the potential of the powerplant beneath your balls. Due to that, I strongly recommend buying local if there are good builders close by. Mail order stuff works great, until there is a problem. Good luck Quote

Malott 1 Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 If you are doing a 4mill cub all your builder would need is your cases to match the cylinders. Since he already has the cylinders and the crank. Won't cost hardly anything to ship a set of cases. Quote
