Ive had an armadillo plate on mine for a couple years now, and its taken a beating without a single dent to show for it. A few scratches, but thats it. The only thing that would concern me is that it doesn't cover the shock linkage, but it hasn't been a problem for me yet. I would think that any of the plates made of .250 aluminum would be more than enough.

I'll second that. I have beat the sh*t out of mine for years and it has held up great. Where I ride (or maybe how I ride :P ) is so rough that the stock skid plate only lasted two rides. The Armadillo one has been going strong for three years now.

Do any of the armadillo ones cover the shock linkage? The PRM one looks like it does but the armadillo pictures all look the same for every model so I can't tell.

I know that you need to hack up the PRM to make it work with the shortened swingarm. You have to essentially remove all of the skidplate that would cover the shock linkage.

I wouldn't worry about protecting the shock linkage. I beat mine all of the time and it hasn't broken yet. A few gouges in the aluminum link, but nothing that hinders its performance or safety.

I have a PRM which covers shock linkage and all. Takes a heck of a alot of abuse. Has been working great for the past 6 years or so.

Mat,

On your armadillo did you have to cut it at all for the -2 swinger? Is yours the .250? I don't really care which I get as long as it will work with minimal to no modification. I'm not worried about the linkage either I don't have it protected now and I beat the snot out of it. Mainly want to protect the arm, rotor, and chain as much as possible.

Chris,

Are you running a -2 swinger?
