quadfever54 Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Anyone know the best deal on new cdi aftermarket for a 94 banshee?? Saw one by WWW. procomengineering rev kit cdi on ebay, says they are brand new, retail at 345.00 sold for 98.00 opening bid plus shipping. Anyone know of these or others Thanks Ray Quote
sredish Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 Go with either Dyna FS or Duncan Racing's Vortex ignition. Those two are proven to be very good setups. Quote
SANDSTAR Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 My Dyna FS has been a great addition. I haven't even tried all the timing curves yet. I still have my 03 stock cdi if you need one.... Quote
mud91 Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 If you get the dyna or the vortex, do you have to put your timing back to stock if you running any advance? Quote
switchblade Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 If you get the dyna or the vortex, do you have to put your timing back to stock if you running any advance? 384594 I know the dyna has a stock cureve setting that would be just like your stock cdi but a little hotter spark. If you used there advance settings it would be advanced plus what you already had the timeing set at. Quote
SANDSTAR Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 If you get the dyna or the vortex, do you have to put your timing back to stock if you running any advance? 384594 Yeah, you need to set your timing back to 0 or just put the oem plate back on. I know this to be fact with the Dyna fs. Quote

I know this to be fact with the Dyna fs. 384622 not true.... i have my timing plate advanced 4 degrees and have the dyna fs ignition. my shee runs great on all curves. i also spoke with tech support from dynatek and they said to start it a 0 degrees advanced and then you can bump it a couple degrees at a time till your happy with it Quote
bradbanshee87 Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 man my bike has been in the shop for like 11 month now because we ordered a dyna ignition and it wouldnt work in my 87 we bolted and wired it all on but it wouldnt work bike cut out when i snapped the throttle so we sent it back and they sent us another thinkin the one we had got was defective but the second one didnt work either Quote
fast500#12 Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 i run a procom enginering cdi paid $149 for it off ebay it works great. it doesn't have all that fancy adjustments like the dyna. when it comes down to budget a a guy does what he can. i was sceptical about there product but was happy with it up until i blew the motor on my bike. just my 2 cents Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 DynaFS for me. ... Stock curve: "improved microprocessor control and significantly higher spark energy." Rare. Quote

And it did the exact same for both boxes? The odds of getting 2 bad boxes are pretty remote. What else have you done to the bike? Quote
bradbanshee87 Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 we have eliminated tors and put onafter market, reeds and twist thrttle and new clutch and pistons thats all so i dont know why it would have effected the bike now when it ran fine for a while Quote

Call Dyna, ask for tech support, they can go over the list of things to check with you. I'd suspect there is something in the harness(either TORS removal, or possibly removal of keyswitch or other parts), that is causing this. The box is under warranty, and they will work with you to figure out the cause of this problem. Brad Quote
