frocashmoney24 Posted July 1, 2004 Report Posted July 1, 2004 i run it and love it, popped off my head a few times and never had much "film" on them, and it smellsl great Quote
KRMit Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 I ran it for a couple years and had no complaints with it other than the cost. It smells awesome. Quote
chris642 Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 the previous owner of my banshee was running bel ray H1R and its what im currently running, could i switch over to Castor 927? also, the bottle says run it 40:1 but the guy told me to run 32:1. he said it was rich but would keep the engine lubricated best, but it smokes alot so my neighbors complain. I dont really care about getting top performance as long as my engine is being well lubricated. should i just go 40:1? Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 i run castor 927 at 32:1 and love it, best oil ive ran yet Quote
bigwill Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 I went from HR1 to 927-two years ago-I love 927 and I mix at 36-1,playing the middle, you wont have any problems Quote
MotulMonsta Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 I'm not a big fan of castor 927. I couldn't get my bike to run right on it, it's a bit expensive and it seperates from the fuel too fast. It does smell good though...A little thin for my liking too. I still have a bottle around here somewheres..it's like 4 years old. Quote
ridingorhiding Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 have used 927 since 1985 great product i run 5 gallons to a bottle works great Quote
ondeeeznuts Posted July 7, 2004 Report Posted July 7, 2004 if you want to switch to Castor, you need to totally get all the other fuel out of your system, get it totally dry, clean the carb bowls, then you should be fine. Quote
sredish Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 it's a bit expensive and it seperates from the fuel too fast. I run Castor and like it. Only thing, it does tend to seperate pretty easy, especially when the weather turns cold. Be sure to shake the machine a little when it's been sitting. Quote
white trash Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 a bit off topic but.... why is it so important to empty the tank / system before switching oils? Quote
Hockey390 Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 Some oils wont mix well together, sort of like mixing water and oil, instead of mixing up and working together, they will seperate causing actual loss of lubrication. If you worry enough to wonder which oil to use, or what ratio, then you should not hesitate to do the full cleanout prior to switching. Quote
