Howdy!

With all the oils out there on the market and getting confused as to which ones to use, I figured I would ask the members.

What tranny oil would you recommend and or use for a slightly modified banshee?

As long as we are on the oils, what premix oil would you recommend and or use?

Thanks,

True...  I understand that what you "don't" want to use is Synthetic oils.

i have heard this as well. ive heard it makes your clutch slip. wonder y? i thought synthetic is sposed to be the best stuff.

To reply to my own question....ive done some research and synthetic oils in the tranny do in fact cause slipping which leads to the question that was posted earlier. Synthetics are suppose to be the best...hmmmm.

Anyway, apparently Amsoil is the worst for slipping clutches.

Thanks to all for your answers.

I certainly don't want to come in here and tell someone what oil to use or tell them

what their using is bad.

I have used Amsoil synthetic oils in my atv's for six years now and have never lost a clutch yet. :o

I have never even had the clutch cover off of my 97' and I bought it new in 96'.

Do my riding buddies have clutch trouble ? Yes , usally one or two clutch's a season but they use the wrong oil

I try to tell them but do they believe me ? NO! so I think "what ever ".

All I want to know is , have any of you ever used any brand of synthetic oil and lost a clutch as a result?

Please list brand and type.

i'm not gonna say use this or that, or yours is bad either. but i've been using bel-ray gear saver since my 1st oil change almost 3 years ago. haven't had any trouble yet. but frequent oil changes, with any oil, is the ticket. oils a lot cheaper than tranny rebuilds.
