I like to use either ATF type F or Castrol GTX 20w-50. you wont have any problems with either one

If i were to buy a new truck with a gas engine i would buy a new ford F-250 with the V10, XL, crew cab, short bed, 4x4 with the manual transfer case and standerd transmission ( ford has a problem with the automatic tranny after about 95,000 miles), now if i was looking at a new diesel truck i would get a dodge ram 2500 with the cummims that is one awsome truck. stay away from the ford trucks with the 6.0 liter diesel they had a lot of trouble with them. for 2008 ford came out with a new 6.4 liter twin turbo diesel, it might be a good engine but then again it might not because it's only the first year for the 6.4 so i would wait a year or two for ford to work out all of the bugs before i would buy it.

I would just use a scotch brite pad, be carefull if you use sand paper

I got them painted black, but on their web site the chrome ones are listed at $650.00 and the bare metal finish and the ones painted black are both listed at $485.00

Hey guys I got my new rocket pipes and they look sweet, the quality of the welds are top notch and shipping was pretty fast. I know that in the past that rocket pipes had gotten a bad reputation because of poor quality and workmanship and people waiting weeks or even months to get there pipes, but with these new owners I dont think that these will be issues any longer. Hopefully with enough positive feed back they can get the company turned around and have a good profitable business. I hope that they perform as good as they look, but it will probably be awhile before I get a chance to put them on and try'em out because here in Ohio we've been getting alot of rain and now it's starting to mix with snow. I would post pics of the pipes for you guys but I don't have a didgital camera or a scanner.

got a new set of aluminum pipe clamps from duner today, and these things look great. the shipping was super fast. if you guys need pipe clamps look this guy up. thanks DUNER

Mine will do the same thing but it only seems to do it after i wash it. what i do to fix it is take the carb tops off and pull the slides out and then spray the slides with wd-40 then put everything back together, that seems to take care of the problem. try it and let us know if it helps

 If you do need to replace the clutch or anything else your best bet would be to contact Jeff at F.A.S.T racing. he will have what you need and he's a great guy to deal with and you cant beat his customer service his number is 785-364-5325

sounds like your clutch is slipping.

Wow this is great i've never won anything before. I would like to say thank you to yamashee1  and i'd like to say thanks to all others for the positive comments

If you decide to go with the V Force2 reeds then you are going to have to modify your stock intake where it bolts up to the cylinder. there is a rubber piece that fits inside of the stock reed cage that will need to be cut off when you use the V Force 2 reeds
-
I like the V Force 2 reeds better then the rad valve. i tried the rad valve and i really didn't care for them, then i put in a set of the V force 2 reed valves and it really made a big difference in the throttle response. i ended up selling the rad valves

there isnt any special order and there isnt a top ring and bottom ring. they are both the same just make sure that the ring gaps come together with the little dow pins in the ring grooves.

Thanks for the info i was using the amsoil dominator mixed at 50:1 untill I read your post. 198deg. flash point? the oil is burning off before it has a chance to lubricate. so i switched back to the castor 927. klotz is almost impossible to find around here. thanks again

Soak the clutch in oil before you install it. you dont want to put it together dry. be carefull not to loose the little ball when you remove the pressure plate, check the condition of your clutch basket. if you are replacing the stock clutch, then you can throw away the rubber rings that are in there. when putting it back together you will start with a fiber plate and then you will put in a steel plate and keep alternating them fiber, steel, fiber, steel, you will end with a fiber plate. do not over tighten the bolts that hold the pressure plate because they will strip very easy. make sure to properly adjust the nut in the center of the pressure plate so that your clutch arm lines up with the arrow on the case. its not that hard of a job take your time you'll be ok.

I had a 2002 cbr 954rr 164hp to the rear wheel GTX 20w50 in the tranny no clutch slippage. here is some good information that goes along with what im trying to say. http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/oiltest1.htm

I've been using it since i bought it new in 2001 and no problems. I also asked Jeff F.A.S.T racing about it when i bought my clutch from him last year and he said that the 20w50 is a great choice. not trying to sound like a smart ass or anything but you really need to under stand that the oils that contain friction modifers or that are labled energy conserving are the car oils that you cant use and the 20w50 oil doesnt have any. also there are people on here that are using shell rotella T oil in their transmissions and they swear by that. the thing is the motorcycle oil companys like maxima, motul, bel ray and spectro, want to scare the public away from any oil that is not a motorcycle specific oil so that you buy their oil at $6.00 to $7.00 per qt. thats what it all boils down to. but as i said before you can use castrol GTX 20w50 and you wont have any problems. now if you want to use a motorcycle specific oil and spend the extra money then thats your choice.
-
Yes you can use the castrol GTX 20w50 with out any problems because it does not have the friction modifiers and its not energy conserving like most car oils. where people get into trouble is when they put a energy conserving car oil in the transmission and that is what causes the clutch to slip. check out toomeys web sight they even recommend using the castrol GTX 20w50 over bel ray 80wt.
