I taught about doing it, but since I never did it, I choose to buy new cases and Redline did the job.

I still have to sets of cases to play with ;-)

No shame in that. That's thinking like a pro when you send it out to be done by the experienced pro.

I remember reading ther was a aftermarket impeller that would get “grooved” easily and cause a problem. I don’t remember if it was mull, could have been modquad.

I didn't have any problems with my Mull impeller, but my buddy did.  Turned out the bearing wasn't all the way seated.  Just had to tap it in a little further and it spun freely.

This. I have very little gripper material on my seat and my body slides back VERY easily with the power i make.  I recommend the whole seat in gripper material. It will be ugly but it's much easier and safer to ride.

Are you using a direct drive cover? If so use the stock pump. There are a few reasons to do so. If I’m not mistaken the shaft and impeller can separate. You might be able to space the two apart.  Before anything is done make sure the seal n bearing are pressed in 100% or it will cause issue your having
