SheeMX Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 Has anybody here ever ran at the little sahara track. The fastest bike, a cranker there was a 3.99. 10 mills are in the 4.50s. It is a pure sand uphill track. My offer still stands. I will race any fo you that think a stock banshee will beat one at Olds on presidents day. If I loose cool, you were right. Then we will know. I also have a 110+hp banshee now if you want to race that. Its slow too Quote

mattmans1983 Posted January 26, 2004 Report Posted January 26, 2004 I agree with bigscary. Stock vs. stock the 450 wins by a long shot. I have a shee that has the usual pipe (DMC),filter,v-force, and a milled head. The 450 removed the airbox lid and jetted up 3 sizes and in a drag in the dirt I beat him by about 3 bike lengths depending on the length of the run on how much I beat him. On the street we raced from a rolling start side by side in 1st gear and off the line I jumped on him by about 2 bikes through 3rd gear, 4th and 5th he gained enough to be side by side with me and then he topped out before I hit 6th gear and then I just took off. Thats with stock gears on the shee. Those 450's are a hell of a machine. And we don't want to talk about the stock suspension and handling on them things compared to a shee. Quote
sredish Posted February 6, 2004 Report Posted February 6, 2004 A banshee will beat a 450 stock for stock. Pretty close, but in the sand, the banshee wins. this is wrong............ I saw a stock shee get 5 lengths put on him by a stock yfz........ when it comes to these fast bikes (450 and Banshee) alot falls on the rider, dont let 1 bad banshee rider that gets beat discourage you, there are a lot of good riders that can work wonders. CRANKINPEDRO32 Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 uhhhhh are you joking??? Read my profile to see my bansh's mods...race a yzf450 with a pipe and tires, he took the holeshot due to excessive tirespin, but once i hit fourth i flew past him and never looked back! Quote
Nighty Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 updated 450 movies. These 450's are modified and have: -a port job and K&N airfilter and proper jetting - The white one has GYTR CARBON FIBER PIPE, - The Blue one has a YOSHI pipe and the new DYNATEK programmable ignition system. These things are fast!. but $$$$$ even alky banshees are going down here! http://www.eskimo.com/~daddog/videos/glamis2003/index.htm Quote
Ultimateduner Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 I can beat a stock 450 any day at the sand drags Quote
champ6966 Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 brother has a yfz 450 hmf pipe jet and needle kit K&N w/no lid on air box my shee has T5s K&Ns 350 mains and weve been dragn since he got it stock and w/mods actually mods came after i handed his ass back to him at finish line but after mods its alot closer 1st through 3rd its too close to call but once in 4th i start pulling away and the gap just grows w/ 5th and 6th consistant win in sand drag goes to the shee Quote
Klotzban1 Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 I think the weight of the rider and how he shifts plays a big roll..My motor isnt built to a T. My Shee reacts different when I ride compared to my friends trying to ride it. Ive raced a raptor modded, and dont want to forget the Bombadier 650 and a honda kitted 440 ex with aftermarket rev limiter and a Hondas 450 dirtbike and there was no stopping the shee after it reved and hooked up. Ive heard that the new 450 revs like a 2 stroke. I would say ...my money is on weight difference of the persons and machine .....just by my personal experience. Make the banshee hook up and it will show you why it ruled all these years. Quote
Southside Motorsports Posted March 25, 2004 Report Posted March 25, 2004 Not a threat at all. Mods are vary limited for 4 strokes. The banshee can be modified to the moon. Quote
bansheeman8 Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Posted on Mar 25 2004, 08:44 PM Not a threat at all. Mods are vary limited for 4 strokes. not true. Last weekend I saw a 450 with a portjob, cams new carb, running alky with a 8in swing DESTROY full drag shee's. They were claiming 100+hp and when the 450 got a good jump and didnt wheelie he eat them alive. I couldnt belive it but I did see it. Im not sure what all the shees had done but most were custom frames running no plastic out-of frame pipes....full blown drag shee's and they were getting their asses handed to them. Dont get me wrong I love my shee and am starting to slowly build a full drag bike out of it but that 450 was killing them. Quote
stroked427 Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 i dont care if the 450 wins or what you cant replace the sound of the screaming banshee to the yfz450... The banshee wins no matter what in my eyes because there is no way to duplicate the one of a kind sound of the banshee..... So to me the yfz450 always looses Quote
blueshee03 Posted March 28, 2004 Report Posted March 28, 2004 5 lengths the guy on the shee must of let off the throttle.i'll beat a stock 450 5 out of 5 timesby at least 1 bike length in the eighth mile dirt drag. Quote
Klotzban1 Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Ive sat on alot of quads out there and none have the Killer style of the Shee. BIG THUMBS UP TO THE BANSHEE .....THANKS YAMAHA Quote
