Blue Duece Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 only a moron would put a +4 swing arm on a yzf450...no wonder you beat him..... Quote
FORMULASPEED Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 People Cryin about the yfz450 , man Id hate to see the post of the new honda 450r beat a stock banshee Because you know the new honda is faster than the YfZ supposivly. The yfz banshee race cant, comment Ive seen 1 in the back of a truck. Quote
bkabina Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 i saw two run the 8th mile dirt drag and neither impressed me enough to switch to a four stroker.i could'nt run them cause i wasnt in same class but ide smoke them very easily Quote
bkabina Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 from what i hear the tranny in the honda would give up before he beat the yamaha Quote
SheeMX Posted January 24, 2004 Report Posted January 24, 2004 This is gay. I just bought a 450 and I will be at Olds on Pres Day. I would be more than happy to show you fellers what it can do. I have a 7mm banshee too. They are bikes for different purposes. Just dont let the 450 wipe that grin off your face. Stock for stock the 450 is faster. Proven fact. Lighter more power. The only way they could lose to a banshee is if the setup wasnt right. Same paddles and 2 stock bikes and the banshee goes home a loser, Wanna bet me? We can make it happen Quote
SheeMX Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 Here is a vid of me racing a STOCK YFZ. Mine is a 4mm on Alky built by Dan Hull at A&S Racing. Notice how close he is. I will try to find another vid of me against a banshee on the same hill so you can get an idea. My bike also ran a 4.7 at little sahara ok. in the 300 foot just the way you see it so it isnt a turd. Alky 370 vs YFZ Quote
SheeMX Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 Here is another YFZ on left Friend on banshee with pods and CPI's in the middle. Sure looks like the YFZ beat him. Over and Over again. 5 different riders YFZ vs Piped banshee Quote
MRMOONEY Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 not trying to start shit with ya, but a 4.7 with a +4mm alky bike seems really really slow, we have gas 350 here running 4.5-4.7 in the sand. i am guessing a 450 would run a mid 5. i can get the vids to work since i am at work, but i have seen a 450 not stock (cam header silencer ultra light paddles +4 over arm, lose to a stock banshee with pipes, everytime they raced, and the guy was a hell of a rider, he also had a very very fast +5mm stroker banshee that was kicking ass. so i know that in the sand up a hill there not FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Quote
yamaha350 Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 hey mooney your 4mm gas bike was running in the 5's. you never hit a 4 anything yet. but your right about the gas 350's there are a few running 4.5-4.7. Quote
MRMOONEY Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 yes gas bike, with stock ex porting ran 5.0, now that is has some ex porting should have no prob running a 4.7-4.6 on gas throw in the nos and alky should run pretty damn good Quote
blueshee03 Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 man the guy on the shee had to have been sleeping Quote
Thumper69 Posted January 25, 2004 Report Posted January 25, 2004 I'm not going to get into the whole 2 stroke verses 4 stroke thing but untill someone can build me a YFZ based motor that hit the 120 horse mark I'll stick to the two stroke. Now on the same note for someone wanting a new bike thats fun to ride and plans on leaving it stock the 450 would be a good choice. Quote
