  1. Haha gotta say I love reading all the comments you guys posted! Believe me a banshee was my first pick, but to be honest my gf is scared to death of driving anything (took me 2 years to get her to drive a car lol) so a banshee just seems like overkill. Would really like to find a 400 ex or some other reliable slow dog she can ride for cheap haha. And not to put you blaster buffs down but those are the worst pieces of shit I have ever ridden at the dunes, my group had literally 6 of them and they all blew up at least once a season (3 on the same ride) .
  2. Really appreciate all the info guys! So pretty much seems like everyone agrees the LT250 is a piece of shit haha. I offered the trail blazer to her once or twice and she was completely against it since she wants to learn how to shift and she thinks its ugly. What about the Honda 250 same issues? http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/sno/4248495514.html
  3. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/mcy/4232379224.html Heres the post if it helps
  4. Thanks for the insight! Yeah hes only asking 600 and I think I might even be able to get it for 350 bucks at that I figure if it runs it can't be all bad right?
  5. Wow long time no see everyone! Hope everyone has been doing well anyways I'm looking to get my GF a cheap quad to ride with me. Anyone know anything about the Suzuki LT250s? I found one locally for around 600 bucks that's been modded to a 300 engine. I don't know anything about these quads so would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out with some information about their reliability, ease of riding, power, ect? Any help is appreciated!
  6. I only go to the Sand Dunes to ride and I have both sets of pipes and a banshee that has an +4 swingarm, ported polished, milled head,k&n filter, wiseco pistons and rings, stock carbs, adv timing and flywheel done. Which pipe is better overall? I do like to drag race and hill race, but I also do some heavy duning. Any help is appreciated thanks.
  7. At the dunes I've raced and rode all three. I can say without a doubt that if all of the quads were stock the race would end like this... yfz 450 450r banshee But if the banshee is modded (pipes port ect like mine) the race would look something like this, since this is how it turned out for us. Banshee (by far) yfz 450 450r While the 450s are good duners, it takes alot of money to make them racing machines. As opposed to the banshee which takes minimal money and but lots of patience. As far as which 450 is better, without a doubt the yamaha, its faster and better riding.
  8. The motor never lasted more than a trip, the last time it only last 3 rides. When I had it redone I just took the plugs out to make sure the residue on the plugs was chocolate brown. I'm sure other factors contributed to it, but I'm positive the jetting was the main cause. ( no air leaks, mixture 25:1, ect.) I hope I get this right, the blow up was so bad on the previous motor the estimation for rebuild was $2500 (nothing in it was salvageable) , so I decided to start over and bought a new motor.
  9. I can't wait two weeks, I'm thinking of going out there this weekend.
  10. Just wondering if anyone knows what jetting to use for CPI inframes, I run at glamis (sea level?) and I had it jetted to 340 mains. Well it leaned the motor out and it blew up (even though I checked the plugs 10 times) , one new banshee motor later I'm wondering what I should jet it to, 360? Any help is appreciated thanks
  11. Hey everyone long time no see, anyways I changed the swingarm on my banshee sunday and now I have to bleed the brakes. It doesn't pressurize when I pump the brakes so I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  12. Hey guys I was at the dunes riding my banshee over Thanksgiving. While riding I noticed that it was running abnormally hot so I cut the motor. I then discovered that the antifreeze line to the water pump had come off.(It could have been off for more than a minute) So I filled the radiator with cold water and started it back up. Not 30 seconds later the radiator hose to the head blows off and antifreeze comes flying out. So I pulled the head and see its warped, but other than that everything is ok. So I ask should I redome the stock head, or buy something like a cool head? Is a cool head worth the money, does it really keep it cooler? Thanks
  13. Look the chain is relativly new (like 4 trips on it), I am asking how to stop it form stretching if you don't have ideas to contribute (other than the obvious) stop posting.
  14. What are you doing trying to get your number of posts up? That had nothing to do with it.
  15. I used to visit that site about 8 years ago, used to be really into that Swat game. (and superbeast)
  16. Last year I bought a +4 swingarm for my banshee and ever since then I've had nothing but problems with the chain. I adjust it almost every trip, not because its a "little loose", but because its practically hanging of the sprocket.(In one season I had to take out 2 links, on seperate occasions, due to stretching) I make sure I adjust it so that it has an inch or so play when I'm not on it, and its fairly tight when I am on it.(Correct?) I only use my banshee in the sand. The chain I have now (I can't remember brand, all I now its not an o-ring and its gold) is the "best" chain for banshees (As said by Trinity racing) What am I doing wrong?
  17. Ha ha thats funny as hell, made my night.
  18. He did.. Sorry didn't write that. Anyways I try to do my own work whenever I can. Majority of the time I disassemble the part and give it to the builder. D&m was the only time I took the entire quad to the bulider.
  19. Not to long ago I posted this topic trying to get advice on what might of happened to my banshee. (previous post) Basically what happened is that we took my banshee, my cousins, and my dads to dougs shop. We basically gave him a blank check, we told him to completely check out each one, fix the problems, port my dads and cousins (mine done my Kenz)(good work), dyno it, and tune the carbs. Well on mine he fixed the clutch, water pump, adv the timing, welded the crank, tuned the carbs, and extented the swingarm. ($1800) So on my second trip out since the work (thanksgiving 2 days into trip) , it starts blowing coolent, and the motor blows up, leaving the right cylinder destroyed and the left looking absolutly normal. Then about the same time my dads banshee also starts blowing coolent, and my cousins has this irregular knocking noise in the clutch. When I got home I took my banshee to Kenz instead of D&M to have it checked out. According to him (kenz) my banshee's carbs, which were tuned by doug, were way too lean causing the head gasket to blow. The needle, the air to fuel mixture, bowls and slide were all fucked up. To add to that Kenz said my motor was showing signs of sand damage, which I paid Doug to check and he said it was perfect. So which of course tells me that he didn't take the motor apart. Which to me makes no sense since he could only gain by doing it. So I paid Kenz $560 to reset, rejet, recheck, and rebuild my motor. You know I don't know for sure if doug (the owner of D&M) worked on my banshee, or one of his workers did. But whoever did fucked my shit up. ::
  20. Well I took the entire motor down to kenz and hes telling me that the banshee leaned out, then the head gasket blew, then the right side seized. So he s still looking at it to see what caused it to lean out. Its not the carbs since I ran that jetting for about year and half without any problems Any ideas?
  21. Wow kinda sick if its real. Man if I got stabbed like that by one of my friends shit I wouldn't be the only one going to the hospital
  22. Yep they started that about 2 years ago. Whatched some poor guy get his motor home and trailer towed. We have left our stuf out there for the past 6 years for thanksgiving. We always make sure that we have someone stay ans whatch everything....
  23. I went into the garage and looked, no it didn't clog the water ports.
