  1. Tats, have you tried dynoing the stock ports w/ just the stock carbs??? I tried the prodesign intake and 34's also w/ my Pt mids and lost 8hp and 1000rpms. I'm pulling 53hp on my local dyno which could be different, but my concern is my shee doesn't like larger carbs, even ported stock carbs. I like the Pt pipes, but haven't had any other luck that Loran has suggested....
  2. Agreed.....mine does the same, especially when I had stock pipes. It really smoked hard when I dragged or ran top end for a ways...I'd think a rich pilot might do that to, but I wouldn't think it'd hurt anything..
  3. One side isn't smoking sounds like a dead plug or no spark to one side.....
  4. That was you!!!! Nice shee!!! and fast. I might be working this Sunday coming up, but I'll be definately be down the following weekend. I'll try to make it though. I need a new clutch in my shee and would like to run you again just to see the difference...Are you going this sunday??
  5. Cool, THANKS MAN!!!!! Any more opinions are welcome!!! I didn't like them for trail or sand pit riding. The powerband is like a light switch w/ stock porting. Others claim the pc pipes are a lot smoother once ported.....my .02
  6. You can get PT, Trinity, Toomey, and I'm sure a few others w/ either black or no finish and just get them powder coated for $75 bucks....make sure you get the 1200degree powdercoat and not the 400degree...the 400 degree temp will peel by the cylinders...
  7. I'll be riding in Dayton, Me....where will you be at??
  8. In the snowmobiles, we have to run synthetic oils for the powervalves. You have to be careful, some oils will make them stick all the time and lose low end power and top end power if they stick closed or even halfway....Defeats the purpose of having a valved cylinders....We never have to replace the slides in the snowmobiles....20 hrs???? I don't think so....This isn't new technology...I also have a stock bore set of cylinders, never been ported. Might need a .010 over bore, they have about 100 hrs on them, thats it...I'd be very interested in those cylinders. I'd even pay a little w/ my cylinders..keep it in mind..
  9. I've seen guys in my area that claim they are running stock mains w/ fmf fatties...Some people are just too lazy to properly jet thier shee....oh well... thats thier problem.....BTW, I know a couple of shops that tried to jet in the shees. They think going up 2 sizes is perfect, but couldn't get it running right. I took the shee for a day and really dialed it in. They couldn't believe the difference...Can a shee run w/ improper jetting?? Yes, but will it run really good?? No...There is always room for more power, sometimes more than you think....
  10. Twin K&N's w/ no box....as long as you don't ride in water or mud...
  11. Not unless you have porting done...
  12. I'm not sure about those cylinders.but I'd find out which carbs are best for those cylinders...
  13. tors maybe? sure its getting gas??
  14. yep, about 98%
  15. maybe just oil buildup in the silencers burning out? Pull the packing out...
  16. thats cool Banch, both my bikes run fantastic, crisp as can be and chop reads perfect, im at a diff elevation than you, and like ive allways said my weak ass pro circuits arnt fuel or air whores....i went with what they recomended and it worked, or you can bet id bring my needles and pilots up.......tried upping my needles once and shee ran like shit...... But you have porting, don't you Deuce??? Well, I can't be perfect at EVERY shee out there. I can only post what worked best on my shee in my area w/ my mods...These are only starting points, and everyone should always jet their shee to what their shee likes....Like I've said before, trial and error, its what YOUR shee likes!!!! Jetting is an art, not a bible....
  17. Getting more hp isn't as important as where you put it....
  18. Deep brown is good!!!
  19. Try a 27.5 pilot and readjust the air screws....what color are your plugs after running wot in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds??
  20. Tan is lean, put some larger mains in there.....go up at least 2 sizes and retest....
  21. I agree, 260's sound lean especially w/ the cold air we've got coming... try a 280..keep the stock pilots..
  22. Same size jets in both. I've only seen triples run different jet sizes where the middle cylinder runs hotter than the other 2, but not on twins....I'd still try the needle in the 4th clip from the top. What will it hurt?? It'll either run better or worse, no inbetween, my shee ran better......I had a K&N w/ no lid..
  23. Stock filter and lid will restrict the air quite a bit. He's not getting the full potential power from those pipes, not even close....
  24. Gary made me a set of custom 2+2 arms and they are sweet as hell. I get alot of compliments on them. I rolled my shee down a 90' vertical hill and ripped the handlebars right off. The arms held up, no prob......I give him two thumbs up!!!! Thanks Gary...
