Not all pipes like the larger pilots...Try a 27.5 or even the stock ones.....Also adjust the air screws, they fine tune the pilots.....Trial and error...let us know what you come up w/...

Shee Isnt Getting Any Fuel...help!
Banchetta replied to banshee_rider95's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
How long did it run for after you started it up??? Did it keep running or die out after a minute?? Did it start back up again w/o the gas in the spark plug hole?? Did it idle good?? How long?? -
sst's ....hands down....They are comparable to the PTR mids and are very smooth powerband...These are my 2 best pipes that I've tried....Granted I haven't tried the 2 into 1 pipe yet, but considering....

After A Hill Climb It Smokes Alot
Banchetta replied to screamin'twin's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
could be a large pilot, but I wouldn't worry, my shee does the same thing after dragging or running in 6th gear for any time... -
Agreed, pull the air box lid off if you can, if you can't, then cut the last 1.5" off the end of the lid so you still have all four clips to hold the cover on.. next, put some 300 mains in there and run it wide open in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, shut it down, coast to a stop, pull the plugs and see what color they are...Black is rich, brown is perfect, white or tan is lean....you should feel a big difference from stock jetting...

the -2 is awesome in the snow and on the ice..You don't want to go through the tire, just in the thread. Get some 1/2" gold diggers and put around 100/tire for the front and about 200/tire for the rear....If you want more traction, then put more studs.... simple as that...

You don't have to spend 800 bucks...The reason why they are so expensive is because they are fully adjustable. You can get Elkas for $400 for the pair for the front...You just won't have compression or rebound adjustment which the average rider doesn't use anyways....I got triple rate works and love them....I could use more, but the works made a big difference from stock. My friend has Elkas fully adjustable front and rear. I didn't notice any difference from my shee when he bought the front shocks, comparing them to my works. Maybe I would've on bigger jumps, but not on the smaller bumps....I did notice a big difference on the rear shock when he bought his rear elka, compared to my stocker......As far as duals and triples. I agree w/ Duece. I've had both and find the triples almost too soft and spongy....I bottom out easier and don't find any more of a ride on top....They are both great, but I don't see any advantage to the 3rd spring...Like everyone else sais, buy what you can afford, and remember the adjustability is just as expensive as the shock. If your not going to play w/ adjustments, then don't waste the money....

I know the K&n filter is the same size as stock and the adaptor plate can be used for the stock or K&N filter...

tors is more than just the carb tops...Is the little black box disconnected along w/ the parking brake?? What is your current jetting?? Air cleaner clean?? Little choke tube between the carbs in place?? (1/4" x 2" long)

i have a set with the spark arrestor also and a set with the silencer, the sparky is about a half inch bigger around and sounds meaner...... Did you notice any difference in the powerband hit between those two pipes Deuce??
-
Agreed, start w/ 320 mains and start w/ the stock pilots an go from there. Once you get the mains dialed in then try a 27.5 pilot and see if it helps any...adjust air screws to the pilots for throttle response...

Do you run paddles or knobbies???

We had a high of 26 degrees out today....... -
Try new plugs..
-
Neither, I lucked out and the ball freed itself after about 10-20 seconds of trying to pull the clutch in.....
-
The mikuni pilot jets are a little different from the pilot jet in the shee...make sure you have the right one....the pilot jet you took out was in the tube beside the main jet right??? under the plastic splash guard...

Toomey T5 I Dont Wana Lose Any Bottome End
Banchetta replied to ninjamaster's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Just go to Midas and get some custom exhaust made w/ like 3" straight back and a 4" polished tip...Run just a straight pipe. You won't need a silencer since the pipe is larger in diameter. Should sound really cool and have way more air flow..... -
Not, just stock. ON my 4th shee and never had a problem w/ the crank. I'm only running 165psi of compression though...that could be why...I'm pushing 53hp on an 88 degree day w/ 90% humidity....so I know the stock crank holds up pretty good....
-
Revving w/ the clutch fully in is fine. I've never had a problem there. Its when your revving it before a drag w/ the clutch semi-grabbing that does it... I ran about 10 times before it happened to me. I was revving it w/ the clutch half out for about 10 seconds before each run.....I do this to my streetbike at the dragstrip... we actually slip the clutch for about 300' w/ the street bikes to get better times and to stop wheelies....never had a problem w/ the bike. Figured I'd try it w/ the shee since I have a shorter swingarm and my buddies want to race on pavement....I was kicking ass until the clutch froze up.... Oh well, I won though....

What Are The Best Adjustable A-arms..
Banchetta replied to STLbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
No doubt...Quicksand Fabs all the way. They made me a set and I love them.. Look awesome and the finish is holding up very well....Haven't bent them or even tweeked them at all in a few crashes and they are FULLY adjustable.....They were less than $600 bucks..and Gary just loves making parts for the shee...Thanks again Gary.... -
60hp... Nice!!! At that elevation, I'd definately get the 17cc domes and maybe even 16's.....compression is key....especially w/ the elevation that your at....
-
15/40 and 15/41 is only about 1-2mph difference....I was running a 15/41 though..
-
try a larger pilot, one size will make a big difference, the readjust the air screws if you haven't now...
-
never found a cure for mine, thats why I went to a midrange pipe, but I never tried the delta reeds either......maybe deuce is on to something....
-
The toomey exhaust will have a little bottom end power, but you might be able to help that w/ the jetting a little. Try different needle heights and adjust the air screws and let us know where air screws like to be at so we can help you further....also the larger carbs might hurt your performance w/o porting....
