  1. A lean bike will run good, just not run for very long.
  2. Did you put spark plugs back in it? Did you hook the plug wires up right? Did you switch the plug wires and try it?
  3. Nope, this is really mine. My 2nd rail I have owned.
  4. Start at 350 mains. I run 370 mains, 30 pilots and my bike loves it. Runs all day long and doesn't foul plugs. A lean bike runs great, just doesn't run for very long......
  5. I run T5s, 2:1 and Boysen reeds. I run 370 mains and 30 pilots and my quad runs great. Increase jet size then going to the 2:1 air filter.
  6. I started posting here in 2002 and always said to jet big. I see people are still not doing it. I run 370mains and 30 pilots in my Shee. All I have is a cool head, 20cc domes, and a 2:1 intake. Once you get it back together, start at 340 mains and see how it likes it.
  7. This is what I drive in the dunes.
  8. You live in Phoenix and you head home after 3 hours of riding????? WOW!!!! Me and my group are going down Monday and staying through Sunday.......
  9. Why are there clothes on those girls??????? Actually, it is people like that in those pix that ruin it for the die hard duners. The people in those pix are just there for the party. Those of us that go 20 times a year to really dune will suffer in the long run. Ok, off my soapbox.
  10. I'm sure if you had this to drive, you wouldn't be looking at your shee.....
  11. Since I got into buggies, my Shee has been sitting in the garage for 4 years without moving. Went out today, got all the old gas out, changed the crank case oil, cleaned the air filter. New gas and oil when it, about 4 kicks and it fired right up. Runs just like it did when I put it away 4 years ago...... Ready to take it to the dunes to ride with my kid.
  12. I bought a bigger and better one. Gotta get rid of one of them.
  13. 190 main jet??????? Maybe if your bike is like 100% stock. Don't run that small of a jet even at 5000' elevation if you have done anything to your bike. I run 370 mains in my bike and I was at 7500' elevation. Bike didn't run that great, but it ran.
  14. I'm going. Going to have my rail there, with a for sale sign on it.
  15. Get a GPS, go to glamisonline.org and punch in the coordinates of different places.
  16. Yep, I put panty hose over my filter and then put my outerware on. May take away some air flow, but I won't suck any sand. Take it easy if it is your first time. The dunes can eat your lunch fast. Don't go straight over the top of a bowl, learn how to work the transitions.
  17. 100% sand for me. My buddies didn't understand why until I took them to the dunes. Now they all have paddles and don't go in the desert anymore. :baseball_w00t:
  18. Dude, is that your Banshee in your sig? Are you shitting me? Mirrors and parking lights on it? What a dill hole.
  19. I am going to add power steering onto my car before the season starts in Oct. After my buddies car is done, I will post some pix. It is going to be insane!!!!!
  20. Oh no, now you are going to be wrong just like me according to BigRed350X. Since he knows all there is to know about dunes and rails....... :shoothead:
  21. You really don't think Glamis sand doesn't move??? You obviously have never been out here. We get gusts of 65mph for 3 days, that will move sand around. Have you actually driven a V8 powered long wheel base rail? I have, in fact, I have one in my garage. I have also driven a short wheel base 4 cylinder turbod car. The smaller car is more work, no doubt about it. The small cars I have seen end up cutting corners when trying to follow the big boys. They don't have the suspension to keep up. You can't tell me that car with gas shocks in your pix can handle like my car with coils and bypass shocks. No way.
  22. No way does a short wheel base rail dune like a long wheel base car. Getting stuck is usually 90% driver error. We have guys in our group with those little rails like in your pix, they are wore out after hanging with us big V8 guys after 3 hours of duning. Way more work in one of those little cars. No, if you want real power, come to Gordons Well this year and watch my buddy with his new rail.... with a 572 cubic inch fuel injected big block. He is going to be running the new 4" shocks and bypasses in the rear. This car is going to be totally sick!!!!!!
  23. Un huh..... Everyone likes to pump up their numbers. 750 at the rear wheels means it would have to be 1000HP at the crank. Anyway, I agree that majority of the builders are in CA and AZ. It all depends on what you want and how much money you want to spend.
  24. It's a Banshee, it is supposed to rattle. I like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
