If you are going to go to Saint Joe you might want to consider this one too: http://www.flatnasty.net/ It's a privately-owned park open to the public for a fee. I've never been there, but I've heard some pretty good reviews. They also allow trucks there just like Saint Joe. You can win some $$$ here in their hill climb contest... -Bill

Saint Louis here. I get the idea you are sans truck/trailer. If so that sucks. You need a riding buddy with one and room to spare. Columbia has a state park for riding (nice MX track). Chadwick is down near Ozark/Branson. Ask Locogato or StlClark about some places near St. Joe Missouri (the city). There was a hare scramble in Florence and one other place near Jeff City this year (see www.mhscracing.com). Hint: Banshees get their a$$ handed to them in the woods, but it's fun to try. Hi Iron: I'm originally from New Castle and used to ride in Beaver County. My family who still lives back there said most of the old riding spots have been bought by tree huggers who string barb wire across the trail at neck level, etc., Of course they wouldn't have to resort to these tactics if people would honor their no trespassing signs... :-) I know Highway 60 ruined a lot of good riding spots out back of Wampum. Last time I was back there and drove 60 from the Turnpike up to New Castle I noticed it goes right through some old strip mines we used to ride in... Even up in "the mountains" near Franklin where we used to have to carry extra gasoline and could camp overnight on ATVs much of the area is posted.

Stimulus: We do this to everyone and everything on eBay. Response: People stop using ebay. Consequence: eBay goes broke. As much as I'd like to see this punk learn a hard lesson I don't think eBay will charge him the fee unless the buyer comes up with the cash.

If you luck is good you'll live in Southcentral Iowa. I see quite a few Iowa and Kansas license plates on trucks at Finger Lakes State Park. It is about 10 miles North of Columbia, Missouri on Hwy 63. It costs $3 per ATV per day. It is always wet/muddy with moderate hilly trails. If you live over near Saint Joe, Missouri or Omaha talk to Loco or StlClark. They should know where the good spots are over that'away. I've heard there are some pretty good places, but I've never been riding there. Welcome and good luck! If you like even longer road trips consider Deepwater just West and South of Kansas City on Truman Lake. It's free. I don't believe you can camp at the staging area, but the nearby town of Clinton thrives on the boats (for the lake) and ATVs that come from miles around.
