I thought this might shed a little light to how much power is required to get 0-60. Its about some Earth bound rocket scientists that propel a bicycle with a roofing tar and N2O rocket. http://www.livescience.com/technology/0602...rocketbike.html One little excerpt from the article states: "That project didn't kill anyone, so Pickens got himself another bike and stepped it up, attaching a 200-pound-thrust engine capable of blasting him from 0 to 60 miles an hour in five seconds -
So a Kawasaki Mule is legal to run then. I don't think they come with racks. I'd like to see that vid of that race though.

He's not lying. If I had the money to spend, I'd spend it. If I had the means to house 10 of these bikes I would. Hi, my name is Stan, and I'm an addict.

I'd say you're fine. That little ding aint anything to worry about.

Do you have to race a V-Force or can you break out the Polaris 6x6 with the dumper bed and have at it?

alright, im street legalizing my quad...

Exactly. Thats alot of stress on your axle and carrier bearings when you put grippy street tires on them. I'm sure there are some draggers here that will tell you how easy it is to steer a drag bike on pavement with slicks. My dune bike with knobbies can give me a hard time even. Can't imagine a street tire with all that leverage fighting me to go straight as I'm trying to turn. Now if you could come up with something like a simple diff I think it could be done easier. There is a way to do it that I've thought of years ago, but cost prohibitive to even prototype. But basically you would have to make a sprocket hub that had 3 or 4 spider gears in it, then 2 ring gears, one on either side. Then you'd have to have a way to attach a shortened axle to each side in a way that it would be safe and stable. Basically make a scaled down rear end, but instead of a ring and pinion, its just your sprocket hub holding the spiders. Does that make sense? I don't work on cars so I don't know if it does. -
When you say rolled down and hit a tree, that could mean a few things. My banshee sort of hit sand, but it twisted the frame 1.5" out of square between the a-arms and the foot pegs. Add another 3 inches to the grab bar and you can see how twisted the frame really was. None of the suspension would even work. Its hard to tell if a frame is twisted really unless you ride it and look at it from a few angles. I would check it for twist after a wreck that smashed the bumper just as a precaution. From the factory a bare banshee frame looks like a kid in Honduras put it together in his front yard. Look for cracked paint, and cracks near welds etc. Paint cracks would be the best though.

Anyone a Motorcycle mechanic/business owner
Cotton eyed Joe replied to 01bansheefox's topic in General Banshee Discussion
You never know where your degree can take you. I'm with PTT, finish your degree first and use it as a jumping off point. Heres why: Out of my somewhat smallish customer base at the shop, I deal with no less than 4 engineers. One is a carbon fiber spiral wound rocket motor engineer that worked with ATK/Thiokol. He now owns his own business making shit with carbon fiber and used those years of experience (not to mention the pay) to get him started. One is an electrical engineer that worked for a few years at various companies building and designing just about anything. He has his own product and a company that is worth over $20mil. He has 3 employees. One is a software engineer that spent some time building and repairing flight simulators for the military. He's now working on an alternate energy power supply (I can't say much more than that right now) that so far is almost complete. He had us do alot of the mechanical design work, but he is working on all of the software and hardware components. He still has a 9 to 5 job, but he makes on the order of $45 and hour right now. One is a mechanical engineer that buys repo houses from banks, refurbishes them, and rents them. This way he has a steady income so he can build show cars. All of these engineers work for themselves after putting in around 10-15 years in the industry, BUT they weren't just working for 15 years then up and quit. They were working on what they wanted in life the whole time, and were just waiting for the right moment to do it. Which in all of those cases was getting their side businesess big enough that they could leave the "working sector" and do their own things without worrying about $. -

You might have to scrap everything and buy a drag frame, run slicks and go drag port/drag pipes/override tranny.... 0-60 in 2.5 is quick. You have to have power, and traction. -
FMF Pipes Touching Coolant Hose
Cotton eyed Joe replied to burst43's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
My Toomeys do this, so I just used a couple of zip ties and pulled it this way and that, zipped it in a few places and it keeps it away from the frame and the pipes nicely. You just need a little air gap there is all. -
Holy crap, Wachovia sucks
Cotton eyed Joe replied to dawarriorman's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Lets see if I can remember how to work a story problem. 14 days of $33 is how much? 14 x $33 = $462.00 That sucks. My dad always says "HOW DO THOSE PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT?!?!" Then he laughs and says "Probably better than I do." -

On Mar-27-06 at 12:55:17 PST, seller added the following information: ****PLEASE NOTE WE NEED TO CORRECT SOMETHING IN THE ABOVE DESCRIPTION: THE LINE THAT READS: "-The carbs are 58 mm smooth bores designed for this motor with K&N filters" SHOULD READ: "-The carbs are 35 mm smooth bores designed for this motor with K&N filters" SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION. Now I can totally see paying the Buy It Now Price. Cleared all that confusion right up.

What do u guy's like for old truck's
Cotton eyed Joe replied to banshee350twin's topic in General Banshee Discussion
As far as old trucks I like the 1940 Chevrolet, the 55, 72 shortbed Cheyenne Super (my mom had one new, sold it 5 years ago for $14,000). IMHO those 72's look good in 2 ways. 12" lift with monster truck tires, or 1" off the ground tucking 20's -
Same here. Thats why I'm considering a flat panel. More room to put more shit like scribbled notes about a job I did 4 months ago. Someone should start a thread about pictures of our desks at work. Brad, you suck. And look at you Brooke with your fancy desk, 2 monitors, rainbow post it notes and glasses. I wanna picture of you wearing your green sweater and those glasses. I bet you'd look like a librarian. I can't believe that monitor CombatTalon put a link too was $279.00. I thought anything LCD and bigger than a post card was going to be near the $800 mark. Looks like an LCD is going to be it. Just have to find a local place to buy it being I can't use my credit cards until my favorite Uncle Sam is paid off. Thanks for the replies!

5psi in the fronts, and depending on sand conditions I've ran anywhere from 2psi to 8psi in the rear .

No kits that I'm aware of. You just have to make a plate that bolts to your hubs, then put a BHC with the pattern of the rim you want to mount, and bolt it on and dont go over 10 mph with it.

Yessss, my 10,000th post!

I hear the great Locogato can achieve a sub atomic particle state and actually become super positioned much like a quark. He can literally be in 2 places at once.
