  1. If you don't have a feeler guage, you could use a dime instead. There's 2 screws that hold the pickup coil onto the stator. On the flywheel there's 2 pickups as well. From one of the pickups on the flywheel, use a dime to space from one of the flywheel pickups & the stator pickup. Should be good to go.
  2. I hear that,...with what I paid for it, and what I've payed to get her where shee is today...OUCH is all I can say. But it's all been more than worth it!
  3. Have to say it doesn't get any better than tear'n up the dunes! Afterall, the Banshee is the "King of the Dunes"
  4. There should be...will have to see what's up. If not we can make room. Not a problem.
  5. Sounds like a blast. Good to hear you had fun. It would be kewl to meet up with all the HQ'rs too! Also great to hear the people were all cool & you didn't have any problems there.
  6. WE HAVE A WINNER! Yepper,...got my panties in a bunch & didn't adjust the pickup coil. That 'rattling' was the pickups on the flywheel hitting the pickup coil on the stator. Luckily I didn't kick the shit out of it and screw anthing up. Boy did I feel sheepish! I had to set the pickup coil at .020 and shee's a screamin' now, started up 1st kick! Took her out Saturday after I got it fixed, had no problems at all. Shee's ready for the dunes...can't wait for next Thursday to get here. The advance in timing made it run a bit better as well, litteraly no hesitation at all from idle to WOT. I'm soo damn happy now I feel like a squirrel in a nut factory. Yeah, just a bit of filing--no biggie at all, slapped right in after I did that. Install is a sinch really, just don't get in a hurry & forget to adjust the pickup coil! hehe Well, the 1st stator I replaced(stock) just died out of the blue--had been out riding, stopped for a smoke, went to start it & nothing--didn't start back up until a new OEM stator & 2 kicks later. When the $300(golden ) stator went to crap it just started out of the blue also, was out on the dunes & shee started to spit & backfire at & only at WOT. Checked carbs, coil, CDI, sparkplugs, replaced slightly cracked carb boots, etc...nothing, still backfired at & only at WOT. So I figured it was the stator--ended up being just that. After I got the RS installed, correctly... ...shee's back in tip-top shape. Again, thank you all for your help. Led Zeppelin
  7. It shouldn't hurt them. They may seem a bit stiff, but you shouldn't have any problems. I'm sure they'll be better than stock...try it & see what you think. You won't hurt them.
  8. Haha...I take it you're not into the kinky shit huh Trick2Stroke! scotts...check out the for sale section...."Dirt Digger Clutch Kits $75." http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...opic=23438&st=0 Gotta love the HQ!
  9. Good look'n bike man. Too bad you're not any closer to me...
  10. Mines not much harder to pull than the stocker was, I ran all 6 HD springs & have no problems. Either way will work, just preference I guess.
  11. Right on, sounds like a plan. We'll probably be rolling in around 10pm or so on the 18th. I'll get a pic of my truck & quads so you'll know it's me...or if you hear some crazy ass blare'n some Zeppelin on the stereo pulling in, chances are that'll be us!
  12. That's got to be one of the nicest non-shee motor setups I've seen. Great job on it man, I bet you're not going to have any problems getting it sold.
  13. haha! You break it, you buy it. Yours will count as collateral.
  14. It depends on who I go with, if I go down with my fam we usually go to the Cowboy Camp in the North campground due to the pull-in type stalls. Since it's just going to be me & my roomate, we'll probably go to the south camp. I like to camp at the south end of the south camp....like when you pull in & go past the ranger station, the 1st left into that little culdesac is where I'd like to be,...up near the hill & in the shade.
  15. Well guys, I got the stator to fit, got the timing advanced +4, got it all put back together. Went to kick it over, now shee's not doing shit, just rattles on the left side of the motor. I am sure I got everything back together right & the flywheel nut torqued down. I'm wondering if when I put the flywheel on if it may have pushed out the woodruf key on the crankshaft.? I don't know. It was late & that pissed me off something terrible so I stopped for the night. I'm going to tear back into it either tonight or tomorrow & see what the deal is. Right now I dunno, shee's worse that it was before now. It can't be anything major since I just had the damn thing running...now it just acts almost like there's no compression, just hear a rattling on the stator side when you kick it over, almost like something's loose in the motor; but I doubt that because I didn't do anything other than replace the stator. So that's where I stand as of now...once I get back into it & find the problem I'll keep you all posted. Again, thanks for all the help. I'm getting pics of the process too for those interested. L8R, LedoftheZep Oh yeah,...thank you to whoever moved this post for me.
  16. Ron, you're a life saver. I figured I'd have to shave it a cooch hair to get it to fit, not a problem. I just wanted to make sure I was aligning it correctly before I bolt it down & get it all back together. Can't thank ya enough... I'll keep ya updated.
  17. 15 views & no replies yet. Anyway, here are the pics so you can see what I'm talking about. Angled view...see where the stator is getting bound & won't fit w/out shaving it a bit..? Another view from the top, you can see where it stops sliding in... View from the side...if you use that spot on the case to guage the degree placement on the stator, where on that part of the case do you guage from? Here's a pick of the fubar'd OEM stator. Again, any help will be greatly appreciated, I'll check back in a bit. Also, if one of the Moderators could move this post to the 'Repairs & Mods' section I'd appreciate it. Being the post whore that I am & all... I got ancy & posted in the wrong section of the forums.
  18. Hey guys, Got out of class early tonight & decided to install my RS stator on the adjustable plate. Got some questions... -Anyone experienced a tight fit installing one? I may have to grind it a bit to get it to fit, the bolt holes are exact though. No biggie...just curious. -Anyone have pics or that can tell me how to guage exactly how far I'm advancing the timing, I understand to use the guage on the plate...but what do you line the measurement up with on the case? -Any other tips, info will be appreciated. Need to get this done tonight, I'm gunna go slam a few, have a smoke, take some damn pictures so you all can see what I'm talking about & will take pics of the install process to help others out in the future here on the HQ. Maybe get 'Meat' to get it on thebansheezone too. I'll be back on here B4 2 long...Thanks in advance! Led Zeppelin
  19. What kind of oil are you using in the case? I run 10w30 and after I installed my new dirt digger a while back it does kinda the same thing, nothing too extreme though. I've not had any problems & after it warms up shee's just fine....so I imagine the oil can play part in it. Just MHO...
  20. I'm running a Barnett Dirt Digger, about $113 from the local stealer, you can also get them from RockyMtnatv. That was for the whole kit, which I'd recommend. It does not need o-rings & that's also included in the little slip that comes with it....leave them out. I've heard great things about TUSK clutch kits,...like $40 for the whole kit from RockyMountain, but last I heard they were WAY back-ordered. That was some time ago, but I'd check them out. Had they been available when I replaced mine I would have went with a TUSK to save me some money. Hope this helps.
  21. If you're dripping oil, I'd say yes...sounds like you're a bit rich. But I always say...better rich than lean.
  22. Sounds like you're on the right track....I'd now look into suspension upgrades, you may have to get your rear shock at least re-valved to compensate for the extra travel. It will be ok for now,...but if you do much other than drag you're likely to blow it pretty quick.
  23. I tell ya what,...when we get to the dunes on the 19th, we'll go out & ride, find a place to chill for a few & I'll let you ride my shee with the -2 arm on the sand & you can make up your own opinion of it.
  24. Better yet,....send me an Email with the pic & details.
  25. Looks badass! Very cool man!
