With adding a boost bottle, no. Don't worry about it until you get a new filter or pipes.

I'd go with 20's myself, unless you're going to primarily drag...then I'd run the 22's.

How Hard Is It To Get The Steering Stem Out
ledofthezep replied to bignasty1's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Not hard what-so-ever to get it off. Dunno what stock stems are going for these days. -

Tranny Issues- Stuck Between 3rd And 4th
ledofthezep replied to Abubido's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Don't split the cases quite yet... See this post: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...pic=25103&st=0& Should be in this section of the forum anyhow...but that oughta help ya out. If you have any questions, as always--post away! -
I dunno it will do much for that problem, perhaps maybe modding the shift star itself would...but I have no experience there so I can't tell ya for sure. Lots of people on here have info on that subject. It could be worth a shot though just for grins, all ya gotta do is pull the shifter off & put a couple washers on that shaft & throw the shifter back on. I always try to make sure that I shift fairly smoothly & make sure it enguages the gear. No,...as far as shimming up the shifter, just pull the shifter itself off, put a rubber washer on 1st(so there's no grindige into the flywheel/stator cover) and then a regular washer, and then put your shifter back on. As far as un-binding it, just drain the oil, pull the clutch cover off, and just move the shifter a bit and look, you'll see clearly where it's getting hung up at. Sorry I don't have any pics...

My g/f will ride double, but doesn't like to. This ended up being what happened when I took her to the dunes before I got her her own quad... Guess who's taking the pic?!

Easy fix.... Take your clutch cover off & move your shifter, you'll see where it's gotten bound up and you can take a little flathead & un-bind it. Then, take your shifter off, put a rubber washer next to the stator cover, then a regular washer, and put your shifter back on. That will eliminate the left-to-right play of the shiftshaft that allows that shit to bind up. I forgot to put the washers back on before the shifter after I installed a new stator, went to the dunes last weekend and what do ya know?...the damn gears locked up in 2nd-3rd. Didn't think anything of it until I started her up to head back to camp & fix it and it didn't go anywhere....I think it toasted my relatively brand new dirtdigger clutch. Talk about a kick in the ass, epecially after shee was out of comission for damn near 6 months prior to this trip! So I 'kinda' feel your pain. But the gear problem is a pretty easy fix,...the other crap you got going on; that just plain sucks. Hope shee gets better soon.

Alright, Who's Meeting Me At Little Sahara, Ok?

The Zep flag was there, but we were back in the frigg'n boonies where no one would see us unless you drove into the camp...ended up by the woodman, back up in his camp. Was alright because there wasn't really chit for traffic through there, but it sucked making the long ass drive just to get into the gate. I was expecting a lot of people to be there, but not a pre-mature snakehunt...not quite, but it was getting close. Until next time --> -
When you're riding it, if you pull in the clutch does it still act like it's in gear or does it roll freely? My dirt digger does the same thing when it's not running, if in gear & have the clutch in it'll be kinda hard to push like it's in gear, but it works just fine when running. I just push mine in neutral.

Haha Probably more like or but felt like

Sure...just Email me whenever.

Sounds like fun man, glad to hear ya got the gitters out of ya. I can only imagine... Doesn't sound like ya did too bad for being out for a while & running a stock motor. So the 450r's weren't doing what they're being all hyped up about.? I saw some running the dunes over the weekend, looked pretty slick...did see one getting toed in. The yfz's were tearing shit up though, didn't see a one 450r take one in a drag, but they were too far behind. I wouldn't mind having me a yfz, definately would have one of them over the 450R, they sound better & it sounds like the 450r's got some bugs to get worked out.

Maybe if I had your 'toe' ...that shit still cracks me up everytime you post. Gotta go

What's up guys!? Sorry I didn't get to meet ya sredish, met BigBlue just cause he saw us pulling in & came on over. Hard to track peeps down with soo much fucking people there. That wind did suck some major ass, but I've been through worse down there...not a bad weekend overall, other than the masses and my shee taking a crap on me. So saturday we're out riding & shee locks up into 2 gears again(damn shift forks, time to replace them I guess...) No biggie, was still moving just fine, stopped to tinker with it for a sec & have a smoke...started it up, No-go. I must have fucked the clutch or at least munched a friction plate or two...so we had to drag the fucker clear back to our camp in BFE by the exit of the north camp where we finally ended up. I didn't even tear into it to see what the problem was, will have to try & get'r dun sometime this week. I'll trade ya the jetting issue with my cluster-f*ck BigBlue! I just rode the g/f's EX for the rest of the weekend & managed to consume a few cases of beer. -
haha I'm leaving work & heading for the Sand Dunes of Waynoka as soon as I'm done with this message. I'll be sure & throw some roost for all of ya! Will be back online Monday to tell ya all how the weekend went! L8R!

How Much Timing Advance On A Banshee
ledofthezep replied to gonzoret's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Sorry guys I lost track of this thread I guess... I run 91 or 92 octane with Castor 927 @ 40:1 I know exactly how you feel, only a few places *sometimes* have 92octane...so that's usually what I run too. I had to replace my stator, so I just bought one of their stock wattage stators on an adjustable plate. Advanced the timing +4. You can mod the stock plate to +4, there's a post somewhere on here with pics & info on how to do it....you'll dremel out counterclockwise 1mm for every degree you want to advance. For instance, 4mm would be +4 degrees advance. +3 wouldn't be bad either, like you said; to stay on the safe side...it's up to you, I wouldn't go over +4 unless you have a motor that can handle it. I myself, would suggest modding your stock plate over a degree key, I've heard too many bad things about degree keys. But on that note, I've heard several good things. Never heard anything bad about modding the stock plate or aftermarket adjustable plates. Ride On! Led Zeppelin -
That sucks man. Sounds like you got your work cut out for ya!

Thanks guys! That's all I needed, I'll get'r dun.
