  1. start with a fresh set of plugs, gap them to about .025's and then to a plug chop.. on gas your plugs should be about like a brown paper bag or chocolate milk..
  2. the better advice would be to tune in the motor to where the plugs look good and thats what it needs to be.. 330's sound small to me.. every single bike is different, every port job is different, every situation is different.. bench tuning the motor is probably the most wrong way to tune a motor.. on gas make your plugs look like a brown paper bag and you should be fine..
  3. what kind of port work do you have? with drag pipes and port work i would think you would be in the 400's.. i saw andy posted a little while ago on planetsand saying no he's not closed that it was a rumor.. i didnt know he had a site though..
  4. on with the jokes man!!..lmao
  5. on the motor side of the reeds is where ive seen most of them ran.. between the cylinders is hard to get to on the mono blocks but is clean on the stock cylinders.. with the dm's i would put it right where you did.. just make sure that when you put the barb fitting in its not so deep as to hit the reed cage.. also teflon the threads so you dont have an air leak..
  6. if your going to run nitrous then i would deffinitly get a wet kit.. the dry kits dont yield as much power as the wets.. dry: boondockers wet: nitrous express, nos ect...
  7. i decided to get out for a while and when i do get back into it i want to build a bigger motor than the 18mm's.. ive got other parts for sale as of now but they may be split into my riding group..
  8. ive heard of some 3.60's out of the 4mm dm's but not the super cubs..
  9. im selling a complete dm top end, 18mm crankworks crank, cpi 6 pipes. i would like to sell it all together if possible or just top end and crank together and pipes separate.. all these parts are brand new and i will get good detail pics of everything asap. the cylinders are brand new plated un-ported, all top end pieces are brand new in plastic. the crank was taken out of the box to start casework and is in the plastic it came is as well.. the cpi 6's are brand new and have NEVER BEEN RAN. im looking to get $3650 (shipped for everything). that would be 1600 for the top end (2000 from trinity new), 1500 for the crank (1700 from crankworks new), and 550 for the pipes (650 from cpi new). pm me with any questions you have.. B
  10. exactly a big cheetah costs more to build, than a cub.. 9k for a used motor is a great sale also..
  11. an 18mm triple will cost you about 12-15k or so to build, the turbo 10mm cheetah that your reffering to that dan built made about 10-15hp less than dans 18mm triple (after my friends talked to him about it).. the turbo scimitar hit in the 250's with a lower boost setting but wasnt "set on kill mode" for the ps races and went some very fast 3.50's.. the 24mm triple on nitrous is what set the record with the 3.18@108mph pass, the 18mm triples werent too far behind that running into the 3.30's.. from what i was told the 18mm triples are putting into the 210 hp ranges with the 10mm cheetah in the 200's.. again this is just what i was told by my friends that were at the races with them.. cost for building a turbo scimitar would be a little more than building a caracal because of the cost of the turbo..
  12. a 10mm turbo is going to cost right about the same as a 18mm triple..
  13. with an 80lb child riding anything your going to get times like those.. in the real world where riders are heavier stock framed bikes with a 150-200lb rider your not going to see those times unless its a huge motor, even then you might be lucky..
  14. they are supposed to be running it today (friday) as well as the turbo scimitar and a few other of the more exotic motors..i should be getting calls through out the day today getting times and told i need to quit my job to come out there.. you know how that goes..lol check on page 4 of that thread posted.. about 3/4's down are pics of the tripple ..
  15. did you guys see the triple turbo fuel injected dual stage nitrous caracal that showed up last night?
  16. the billet cases from mattoon weigh somewhere around 45-50lbs for the cases alone.. http://www.mattoonmachine.com/ the shipped weight is 55lbs.. and they cost right about 1600 skins for a set.. depending on the cylinders you plan on using you may have to do some machine work to make the cylinders fit i.e. boring for the sleeves..
  17. im now asking 550 shipped for the clutch basket, which is brand new! you cannot get this from hinson for this price as they are 700+shipping new..
  18. what about the snow mobile style pipes, dont most of them rev out to the rpm area's that your looking to hit? when i was suggesting matt i was meaning a hand coned set of pipes...
  19. i think with the motor specs and all you could get matt shearer to build you a custom set of pipes, that imo would end up being about the best set of pipes you would be able to get.. specifically built parts are usually the best ones to get.. same as the motor your building..
  20. 16k rpms.. wow.. i would love to hear that thing singing!! now that theres some details out there got any spy photos for the rest of us to drool on??
  21. lock up and cover are SOLD! thanks the clutch basket is still for sale and it WILL fit the 8 plate clutch boss that hinson sells.. i will take 600 shipped for it as well
  22. replied, lockup and cover is pending sale.. thanks B
  23. the stator cover is sold, thanks B
  24. billet cases dont come set up for these cylinders either.. they have the center stud hole already tapped but you will have to bore the cases for the sleeves to fit and depending on what crank your putting into what set of cases you may have to do some trench work as well.. for the 4mm or 10mm strokes the resurfacing to make the dm's fit dont take as much material away as making the 18's fit.. because of the crank size..
