Check your coolant level and refill. If your bike was running that hot it probably puked out some coolant.
-
If leak down test passes your motor should last awhile. Make sure you check and read your new plugs after riding it for a bit. Also if you have a boost bottle ditch it for the stock cross over tube.
-
Ok your well on your way then. As long as your jugs are not ported then the 280/27.5 pilot should be fine. Your running a air box correct? Which filter? The leak down test is so important. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fmf pipes like a bigger pilot but that's not the reason why you burnt down the motor. You probably had a air leak. What cc domes are in the coolhead? You need to make sure your ruining the correct fuel. You need to do a leak down test on your motor also

280 main, 27.5 pilot, stock needle middle clip, 1.5 turn out on air screw. That should get you pretty damn close on stock carbs. Maybe even a lil rich which is fine. Check your plugs and read them. 32:1 is fine or 40:1. Use a good premix that's available in your town or order online. Get the best pump gas that's available. 93 would be best but 91 would be fine too. Keep air filter clean and change transmission oil regularly and the motor should last a long time if you don't have any air leaks

Get an attorney. Get you shit back. It sucks but if you get another frame with a title when they powder it make sure they block of the vin part in a small box shape then have them clear it so vin is visible and you still have your powder. Yes it's a little eye sore not having that spot powdered your choice of color but if it saves you a hell of a lot of trouble down the road as you already know, it's worth it.

New to the forum..long read!

Welcome. Your 450 will always have better handling but you can't beat the power on the banshee. The motors being built now a days are making more power then every before even with smaller carbs on some builds. A few things to look for in a used one would be.. A good straight frame ( check rear part by grab bar to make sure it's not all pointed up, check for cracks bends Ect) Good electrical. Good engine cases that don't have chain wack by the front sprocket. One that runs good is always a plus. Your going to be replacing the cylinders, crank, pipes Ect anyway so if you have good parts to sell that will help fund your new parts bill. More then likely your gonna want a promod trans done then a override since you said you still wanna dune it. You'll prob end up doing a 4-10 mil serval or cub depending on what power characteristics you want out of the motor. It's always better to jump bigger with the motor then what you would normally want. Once you get the hp itch it's hard to stop! You said a good 70-90hp bike... Def go for mid 85-100hp. You'll be happy you did instead of building something and then wanting more power a few months later. Happened to me! Keep researching on here there's plenty of good info to be found. -
Ok who got it?
-
More details for sure. All engine mods jets Ect. You may be a little rich on the jetting and also you might be short shifting it and not really winding out the gear like you should
-
Any plans of getting you cylinders ported down the road? If so out of the 2 pipes I would choose cpi. I would only use the t6 if your doing tight technical woods riding all the time and plan to do just that. Otherwise go cpi. There is other pipes available too you may want to check out. What do you want the motor to do? Weight? Riding style Ect? Edit just saw the other posts. Go cpi for sure. I rode a stock bike with cpi pipes and it ran good. Also you won't have to buy pipes again when going 4 mil

Oversized radiator on eBay brand new. They are not expensive. Your coolant is fine that your using so stick with that. Oversized impeller. Leakdown test on the motor to ensure your " correct jetting" is not actually lean due to a air leak. Give us info on your engine setup and your current jetting in the carbs. You shouldn't really have that much of a cooling issue. I'm gonna take a guess and say you have stock cylinders and stock crank. Maybe a 4 mil. Regardless, if your engine passes a leak down test and is jetted properly then you really shouldn't have a cooling issue as long as air is getting to the radiator and your coolant level is full

What makes a spark plug do this?
bluebanshee98 replied to jeff n's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Don't be so ass hurt dude. Zilla was giving the correct info to not run those plug locks regardless of what made your bike do it. This forum is what is it because of all the good info you find though out the ball busting and bullshit. If what he said its gonna put your panties in a bunch you gotta grow some thicker skin. Your not gonna last long here. -
Finally someone who listens. You'll already ahead of some people on here. Keep searching for other bikes

What makes a spark plug do this?
bluebanshee98 replied to jeff n's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
^this!! Plug locks should really stop being made. All it does is hide a problem and will ultimately at some point blow the engine. Another thing to note is to make sure your plug is tightened down as much as it should be. I can see someone not tightening it down like it should and could come loose from that. -
2008 Yamaha Banshee Factory Jetting
bluebanshee98 replied to doug's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Stock jetting is 200/25 for the most part. Anytime you add more air, (in your case the k&n air filter) you have to go up on the main jet to compensate. Goggle is your friend and can help you tons on how to jet -
4⃣MILL banshee bad throttle response at low end
bluebanshee98 replied to Jorge_pg's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Depending where you are but yes that's usually what premium is 91-93. First thing you gotta do is take the carbs apart, clean them and the jets ( blow them out with compressed air), and report back with the jetting in the carbs. Both carbs should have the same main jet and pilot jet- 22 replies

4⃣MILL banshee bad throttle response at low end
bluebanshee98 replied to Jorge_pg's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If your jets are clean and where they should be size wise. Turn air screw to .5 out and lower needle clip to bottom notch and see if it helps the bog. I'm assuming at a lower rpm/speed when you punch the throttle all the way it bogs correct?- 22 replies
