  1. Motors can and will be reliable as long as you don't have any air leaks, jetted correctly and you keep up with the normal maintenance like keeping air filter clean etc. Even the bigger motors can be reliable. There was a 421cc serval motor that had a boat load of hrs on it
  2. Says money isn't a option but won't send to a builder.... FFS . Talk to some builders. A serval and some good suspension will get you where you wanna be since your doing trails
  3. You don't necessarily need a new choke but when you cold start it your gonna have to make sure to pull it out all the way and hold it for a lil bit to warm up. I'd just hold it out by hand
  4. Take out pilot jet and blow it out with compressed air. Make sure to have a good grip on the jet. After everything is installed and gas has gotten into the carb. Make sure to hold choke out all the way and kick it over. Last one I built carbs were clean as a whistle and even after 10min of letting gas get into the carbs it wouldn't fire. Put it in gear and kicked it over ever so slightly to get gas moving. Bike started right up
  5. Might just have to bite the bullet and buy new from John @ Sandtoys Unlimted. Free bump though
  6. Hmm mine seems to be holding up fine. I'm using the 13psi one. I'm on my 2nd one. First one lasted a long time but eventually crapped out.
  7. Replace the case with a good used one. Without that "C" notch it will keep slipping when you kick it or not catch at all. You might be able to rig something up with jb weld to duplicate what was originally there but it's going to have to be the same as it originally was in shape. There may be another solution for this but that I'm not sure of. Maybe someone else can chime in for a fix besides getting different cases
  8. I use a import thermocap made by mr gasket. It's the 13psi one. Make sure it's the import one. It's a little tight when putting them on but it works. What motor is this for anyway? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Ahh good eye. Ha! Yea I don't use Celsius. Any idea if it will fit the radiator correctly? Reason I ask is I'm sure they make one in Fahrenheit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. If you have a bigger motor and have fullbores then it could be useful. I use a different one then pictured on my 10dm trail bike and it's accurate. When I had laker plastics on it I was able to see the part that was important (200+ range) are you sure that will definitely fit on the radiator? Seems kind of pointless to me since it only goes to 200
  11. A nice clutch lever (asv c5 or 6 series) would be very beneficial. Awesome levers and make pulling the clutch feel like butter even with all hd springs
  12. Only thing I ever had to change on my 10dm in the first year since I got it was 1 set of plugs and clean the pods. Year after that only thing I changed was the gear behind the basket due to me not kicking it properly and after it sat out in cold freezing weather ( buddy's cabin). Other then that it's been flawless. I'm not sure why your 10 mil has been having problems and I ride my 10mil pretty hard imo. If it's all setup properly it should be reliable. Just throwing my 2 cents in here
  13. Is there a possibility that when the seat cover was put on that it was too tight hence the bend back? How new is the seat cover?
  14. It's always best to start rich and work your way down while checking new plugs
  15. Welcome. Hope you have deep pockets. Once you start modding it's hard to stop! You'll see.
  16. I think you should support one of the site sponsors instead that eBay crap. You think they are gonna help you jet it or ask how the engine is doing? I don't think so... We have site sponsors for a reason
  17. I don't think he weighed it yet
  18. Can't they just plug the pipes up?
  19. Asv c6 series... You can adjust them to finger length
  20. Should of got the elka deal that was going on...
  21. Buy a nice chrome one since you fucked the other one
  22. ^ he's right ya know
