  2. i use Vito's pistons and i get a wot sure if i run my timing less than +7 i mite need to go a little more always wrenching wile i ride.
  3. i have herd that happens with stock cranks go for a nice aftermarket one . the vibration will tear up your engine spin a bearing and destroy your new rebuild.
  4. you can get the evols but they will be 2 inches longer than the st ockers . i have the floats you must rebuild them every season if you beat the piss out of them. cost about 50 $ for the rebuild kit . being aluminum they break easy in a bad crash to.
  5. if you have the tommy jet kit with needles you could move the needles & clips positions to adjust the fuel mixture you could be running to rich on fuel.I would try the fourth clip with 270 main jet and go from there.and a adjustable timing plate helps allot.
  6. sounds like a bent crank and a spun bearing i would rebuilt it before it goes boom.
  7. i no mine cuts out and bogs out if my timing is set less than +7 I could go a little more but it sounds ok where it is.

Alba sells them the stock cdi with a timing plate makes more power more timing more rpm i run a min of +7 on my timing plate drag-racers run up to +14 the stock cdi has a nice timing curve to it you just have to adjust the timing plate to get some kick ass power out of it .if i was running a MSD CDI i would have to run -1 timing on my timing plate for +7 timing . and i no 4 strokes need tweaked cdi so they can rev more without detonating.

  10. i use 13/42 with 21 inch tires some times 20s . vito's sprockets and chain for tight trails and hills. and i have a spare chain with 15 /41 for some 18 inch studded ice tires.
  11. i went for a ride today and adjusted my timing more and holly shit man it oped up the door with rpm an torque wooh @+7 . I was ballasting around the trunk road gravel pit

  13. ya the + side of the coil is one the right side towards the front of the quad on the coil orange to +wire . black - wire goes on the back towards the back. the coil don't have a + or - marking on them you can hook it up ether way which ever work best.
  14. what about RC tire super glue you will have to boil them to get them of. it can be injected in to.
  15. the short stock carb needles would be to rich with 300 mains unless you have the longer one . you should heat cycle the rings in the engine tell the engine gets warm with slite tiney blips of throttle in nutral tell the engine gets warm . then shut it of and let cool down then restart engine and do it again like five times . then go ride it with out loading it up or going over 1/4 throttle tell the tank is empty then fill it and go for another ride good luck breakin the ringes in. dont push it to hard let of the gas if it dont sound right .

  19. sounds like the piston rings are not seated yet . make sure the choke crossover tube is on between the carbs. re adjust the four carb throttle cable screws to make the carbs open and close the same they must be perfect. TORS are bad luck to . try some 90 octane gas for a slower burn cooler temps and more compression . detonation is bad usually caused buy to much fuel . and the banshee stock jetting is kind of rich from the factory with the stock exhaust. .i ran stock 200 jets year round in my 1987 banshee with a k&n fmfs and boyesen reeds ran like a champ . I tried 210s and 220s in the winter they were to rich so i went back to stock. ow and i had a boost bottle it helps the Bogey throttle problem go away. these setting worked good for my banshee from sea level to 1800ft alt.
  20. the ignition coils on the stator are shorted out . your lighting coils are fine . do a ohm test or get it rewound for cheap . my bro jams screwdrivers in his and bust it all up every time .
  21. i have one from canada 400$ kit its ok for the price all i could find . stock is like 800$ and out of stock usually if i switched i would go with a pvl next and probably never look back. every time i break something I'm hall-in .
  22. i have the vito's 421 BB 4mm kit with hemi II head . i broke mine in with the timing set @ stock went real slow like 35 mph went up to +2 then +4 then +6 ran good . once you break it in hold on. i would set it @ +1.5 or +2.5 just to keep from smoking the tires to much . the Vito's pistons have bigger intake ports than the Athena ones . good luck don't break a ring or seize it up breaking it in and tune it rite you will have a good strong long lasting engine. and i am thinking the Athena kit has a more stockish porting just buy looking @ the pictures. put a boost bottle on it and some reads that flow more than the v force 3s. good luck with the crotch rocket.
