Okay got my jets installed, 240, 250, and 260's started out with the 250's and was still leaning out at WOT... Kept running my screws out and all but got rid of the bogging/backfiring. So i went back to the shop and installed the 260's reset everything and started over. I still had to run the screws out further than I think i should so i think i need bigger jets still.. I have a pretty smoky exhaust now but oddly enough the left is much smokier than the right. Im at least 4 turns out on my screws and it runs really well just under full throttle, probably 7/8 you can tell the instant you turn it too far. overall it was running MUCH better. we took a few rides through the trails and came back. ran low on fuel and threw in a fresh batch of premix. Went out for some more rides everything good came back and it acted like it was running out of fuel very high idle.. When I gassed it i got a back fire at anything over 1/4 throttle which really bugs me now! I suspect i may have a clogged jet now!!! I have a new set of carbs with the tors removed as well as a thumb throttle.. Any other theories about what caused my problem at over 1/4 throttle all of a sudden??? Pulled my plugs when i got back in the shop the left is quite oily (it ALWAYS is) and my right plug was black but very dry. Also did a compression test. 108 psi on both cylinders

LMFAO the "flute" he's holding is a pin that goes on scaffolding to stack between the sections.

If you search around for timing advance threads you'll find that +4 is the most anyone recommends, anything over +4 is for the pro's that know exactly what they're doing.
-
+10 timing advance... isn't that a bit on the high side? would require race fuel only wouldn't it? Maybe he detonated it to death on lower octane gas? Just an observation im sure someone with more smarts on this will chime in.

Another Update: Okay I've since ordered 230,240,250 mains seeing as that's what the recommendation has been from other members here on the forums. I've since noticed that my left bank (clutch side) has fouled two plugs while the right side hasn't... Both look equally oily for the most part.. I was tinkering around and noticed that if I grabbed the spark plug boot on the left bank I got a nice little shock..... Should spark be leaking from the boot at idle? or any other time for that matter? In my haste I didn't check to see if the left side did the same I assume I need to replace the boots? -
I loled srsly

Just Playing around the other day really then I came across this thread. Here's what they can look like.. For what it's worth the ones on the banshee are running on a regular 9 volt battery.. I even left it on overnight Saturday and they were still going strong at lunchtime Sunday. They look pretty sick flying down the road with no lights on These are the same LED lights I sell / install on my customers boats, they're waterproof and flexible... I'll get some more pictures when I LED out the rest of the bikes. Just used one light per bike to see what the colors were going to look like.

No my chain is old... Not sure how old but the bike is a 1987! The adjusters were run way way way out and the chain was still sagging... Im not proud but I yanked the chain off and used a punch to drive out a pin and removed a link.. *ducks and hides*

LOL!! Wonder what the custom intake must look like to hold a 4 barrel carb! To my knowledge holly didn't make a side draught double pumper 4 barrel! The guy gets a +1 for making me chuckle!

Just had my chain off earlier today and removed and installed it using only a flat scewdiver.... I placed a jackstand under the swingarm and put the bike in neutral so i could freely rotate the back tires.. Found the master link and rotated it so that it was in a comfortable spot on the rear sproket.. I then put my finger behind the clip, and used the blade of the flat screwdriver on the open end and slid it up and off.. Installation was much the same way, with the chain on the rear sprocket you can easily remove/install the master link and retaining clip by sliding it on/off with the blade of a flat screwdriver. I can do it in less than 3 mins if you need a video (:

Wow, what's the story behind this?

I have the stock grab bar & tail light assembly from my 87 shee.. Best I can tell these haven't changed a lot until you get up to 2002 or so when they added a brake light. If anyone is interested pm me.. Both items are in good shape, nothing bent or broken! I also have stock gold wheels wouldn't mind trading for non gold wheels if someone want's the retro look! Grab Bar -> $40 +shipping Tail Light -> $20 +shipping Both -> $50 +shipping Negotiable on price if you need this pm !

if i open it up to 3/4 throttle i get plenty of response and power jumps right in the band... If i crank it on over to wide open it bogs for a few seconds and will backfire. They're synced as best i can without a proper sync tool, and i've got my screws about 2 turns out

Okay 1987 Shee Mikuni Carbs Currently Have 200 mains installed #25 pilots No Airbox Lid, Running K&N Air Filter Salisbury, North Carolina — Elevation: 791 FT (241 M) Temps currently 30-50 degrees, from 70-100 in the spring/summer Everything else should be Stock.. Stock Pipes & Reeds Etc. What jetting do I need to run for this setup? I have a bog at WOT and the next suggestion after cleanings and adjustments is going up in jet size. Thanks in Advance!
-
Mmmm right on! Thats way more along the lines of what a tiny bit of brass with a hole and some threads on it should cost! I'll get with them today!
-

Figured id see if anyone here had a set of jets to fit my Mikuni carbs.. I currently have 200's in them and the stealership wants 17.50 each for a set of 220's and apparently thats all they can get me.. I figure since they have to order them anyway I would see if anyone here had a set they wanted to unload. I would like to have a pair of 220 main jets, and the next size up I assume 240's? Shipping would be to salisbury, NC 28147
