  1. to do just the shift star mod? nope...don't need to split em
  2. They bounce.....wobble.....shake and cause air-leaks. What the cross-over tube does is evens out the pressure (if there's a difference) of the intake charge. The boostg bottles are gimics that are supposed to make you believe that they store a little more pressure and then give an extra sized intake charge for your motor to breathe in. but it doesnt workt hat way.....actually it doesn't do anythign that a cross-over tube does. they are junk....get rid of it and get a pick-up tube from a sponsor.....they run like $15 and wont ruin a $200 top end.
  3. i say duct tape. but ya they always seem really over-rated. then your shit breaks and your SOL unless you pay the money for that part....which is expensive (at least for the size) and yet if you wanna ride you HAVE to have it.
  4. ya....115 isn't really anything to sweat about....ya its lower than what is "perfered" after a rebuild....but 115 is still DEFINATELY runnable.
  5. ok....so how are you talking about doin a leakdown test using a waterbottle??? does it have stock carbs on it? are you sure the choke tube between the carbs is in place?
  6. no offense man.....but imho you get what you pay for....
  7. Jeff at F.A.S.T. has my cylinders and crank right now.....if you wanna talk to a honest really cool and nice guy who knows his stuff then i'd say call him. www.farmandsandtoys.com
  8. unplug the tors box (little black box that's under fuel tank on the left side) and try that....if it solves the problem then your TORS is the problem........get the removal kit and forget about it!
  9. lol....shit its not really that difficult....hell i did my buddies while i was watchin tv.......hair-dryer and a staple gun and just use common sense....
  10. Congrats!! and welcome to the BHQ.....as a true owner. Now the next problem is resisting the urge......to modify and modify. kinda like the energizer bunny.
  11. wow FTG....those look good! Its great to see someone trying to come up with a different view of how to re-design the banshee plastics. You may be able to find a member on here that (who said something earlier) that likes it but doesn't want to steal your idea.....if they can do the quality good....see if you could make a mold or let them do it (cause it WAS your idea) and see if they will supply just you a set whenever you need em for your quad for free and they can sell the ones they make?? hey its worth a shot.....but i really like the look of those. And for the right price i bet you ALOT of guys here would buy em up
  12. you can use a heat gun for removing the old graphics......just dont use too much heat or you'll change the look of your plastics (a little more heat and you can actually get your plastics to shine again). HOWEVER.....if you take off the graphics you're gonna be able to see where the old graphics used to be unless you place something over it enough to distract the eye or totally cover it up. If they are cut vinyl graphics that you're putting on the shee and not sticker style then you can actually just use soap and water in a spray bottle.....spray it on the plastic and on the vinyl (not too much but not too little...just enough to cover it lightly) then you can place the sticker down and slightly move it around to align it properly......then use a small rubber (stiff) squeege or a bondo blade and work from the center out squeezing all the soap and water out to the edges. TAKE YOUR TIME! and be careful not to tear your vinyl or anything when your putting them on....letters are more challenging because of the sharp edges that can catch the squeegie tools. after you get the water/soap mix out let it sit for a bit......letting it sit in the sun or even LIGHT heart from a blow-dryer can be applied to help heat the adhesive and aid in sticking better.
  13. hey whatever helps you sleep at night. But we dont try to be tough guys....we just refrain from being douche's like some who misrepresent what they ride. sincerely yours... Yamaha Banshee fan
  14. AK is totally right......the colder the temp is means that there are more air molcules in the same area. which being that much more dense equates to more air going through the motor in the same amount of cylinder strokes.....this is why you have to raise your main jets higher in the winter to compensate it from running lean. same thing goes for performance cars.....ever wonder why drag car guys love the cold weather?....denser air means they can put more fuel in and lay more power down...
  15. bahahahahaha........i can't make any comments cause i don't know john....bahahah.
  16. you have a seat and are just needing a new seat cover put on it? or you have the seat shell and are wanting it refoamed? or no seat at all?
  17. how close to finishing it are you?
  18. without....the stock ones need the stoppers... the boysens dont
  19. AK....are you lettin the schizo side out again and makin up new accounts?
  20. wow.....looks like you got a fair amount of metal shavings laying in the bottom under your shift shaft.....
  21. and this is why i kinda hate my power core-2 silenecers. They keep my ass from being able to go to Silver Lake. And they always keep me lookin over my shoulder while out on the damn trails...
  22. and dont forget that your going to have to bump your pilot jet up to a 27.5 because your pipes gonna let it breath a whole lot easier. but no you dont' HAVE to add anything else like reeds or a timing plate........that comes when youve gotten the itch to go faster haha
  23. okay man....now why are you calling everybody here crying bitches? you cant say shit....your the one who posted up your picture of your banshee with kawi decals on it expecting to get people praising your bike. We wont....cause honestly its gay.....its nut-hugger green with a kawasaki sticker on it...... anyone who rides is gonna know what a banshee is. And you throwing on a different companies sticker is just flat out retarted. 103 huh? doubtful. Oh and most of us here take pride in our bikes and the fact that we ride the YAMAHA BANSHEE.....not the nut-hugger delight that you have created.
  24. does anybody even know if its legal to make your own spark arrestors? i know that people do it just to cheat past the rangers or dnr real quick.....but usually the screens burn out or fall out fast. im talkin making something like RZ did which looks damn good and like its gonna hold up...
  25. well....check it over nice and good.....broken/bent frame...good compression....anything look out of place? Then compare it to your raptor......which one looks cleaner (as in overall longterm maintenance). or take someone with you who knows motors but doesn't know quads.....ask them which one they would choose. or hell you could even load up both his and your quad and take them out to a riding spot and each take a crack at the other guys ride....see if its what you want and see how it runs.
